Hi everyone,
First of all, I must say, I love my little sorc. (ok he's capped, but he's still only like 4-5 months old). He's human, good con, good skill points, excellent umd, in short he's a joy to play. Usually.
However, as of late I've been trying stuff I hadn't before, like running raids without clerics, (self healing mostly), and funky stuff like that, and I find that although I can usually get the heck out of the way of the fireball/blade barrier/whatever on time, in certain quests this is simply impossible and I take ridiculous amounts of damage. (DQ, actually attacking velah instead of just heroing, etc)
Therefore, I wanted to ask if people have a lot of experience with high reflex sorcerers and how that worked out for you? For this, I have been toying with the idea of switching to drow and going for either a 16 dex or a 16 int + feat (obvious pros and cons: yummy skill points, not so yummy loss of a precious feat and -1 less reflex than the dex-based approach, oh and less AC but ehh. I avoid damage based on twitch skills, not based on AC)
(I have a high reflex wizard courtesy of the new feat and he's a joy to play in those circumstances, but I doubt I can get my sorcs reflex save quite that high, and I have little experience in the low 20s reflex save arena - is it still useful? How useful?)
