Is Spot a roll or static check in DDO? When I did Ruined Hall on Elite yesterday, I had 20 spot and didn't get the warning for the first trap (resulting in me walking into it and taking 83 lightning damage, killing me instantly). I released and grabbed Owl's Wisdom before going back in (giving me 21 spot) and got the warning.

Basically, I'm wondering if I rolled bad on the first try and better on the second or was it just a static check with a DC of 21?

Both search and spot are static. No rolls involved.

Both Search and Spot have no associated rolls. You either have the required number or you don't.
