View Full Version : State of the Game Address will we see it?

Now that we are one month post anniversary, and all the celebrations are over. It is time to ask again. Will we see a State of the Game address from the producers, or should we simply take all the snippets of knowledge that have been coming out of interviews and previews as the sum total of what we are going to learn about future projects, features etc.

I am not asking peopele to debate whether we shoudl get one etc. We have gone around that wagon a few times already. Just a simple confirmation that one is or is not going to be forth coming as indicated by Kate.

i would love to see 1 myself but give up asking, my guess is that its not a high priority.

I think they want to shy away from a state of the game, because they dont want to imply any of the statements they make in it, are set in stone. There are a lot of variables they cant control, that can cause a lot of grief, so rather than go down the state of game release, they made a nice stop-gap maneuver, with Quarions signature, stating a current state of issues on his plate.

Ok so now Undying Call is almost worthless. Just use the APs to get the conversion of Turns to Raise Dead. :(

Having +1 to their crit modifier is overpowering? on ONE swing? a clickie'd swing, with limited uses, and a cooldown?

uhm try +2 to modifier and threat range at cap for that enhancement Asp.

On ONE swing per click, a limited number of times, on a COOLDOWN.

Compare this to +2 threat range at all times on a barbarian.

One is overpowered, the other is...balancing.

Actually both Asp...

I believe that the fact that the State of the Game has been delayed from "being written now" to "for the aniversary" to Soon™ is a a known issue™

They are not going to release it, and they are not going to comment or talk about it.

Then in 6 months when someone asks a DDO producer about it, they will be able to make a confused crooked face and say "That's not something we get alot of requests for..."

I sure hope they prove me wrong

You can auto-generate what they would say in a state of the game address in your mind.

I'll help.

"DDO is going places never before seen with all new classes being added in the next FREE expansion. Players will get to explore new dungeons and face new monsters while exploring the new features and capabilities of these new characters. Never-before seen game features and enhancements to the in-game auction house will be opened up with module 7, and yada yada yada..."

All positive. They will not be honest with you and explain the decline in the number of players that has been happening at a steady pace since they shifted their focus to LOTRO development, and continually ignored community requests to bring the game in line with other MMO standards.

*yawn* anyway... yeah yeah "it's not in line with other mmo standards is WHY it's good!!!!!!" like, omg you're so original. Wake up and smell the -1 subscriptions.
