How long does it take for a referral to be sent?

I was trying to send a referral to my wife so we can have an account for her too, but the referral hasn't shown up in her email. Do you email only once per 24hrs or something? I would just get her a trial key from the "free trail" page, but i'm guessing that would not allow me to get credit for the referral...

While different email clients/services can differ, the email should be fairly quick for the referral. Make sure she checks her junk and spam mail folders as these messages can often be filtered by general type rules.
