Best Theory is that he has a DR/Mithral for some reason. Mithral Was added to the list of things Transmuting Bypasses last update.

Thats what I figured...because transmuting was recently corrected to work on mithril, I assume thats what he had.

The only other thing I had on hand to test was Silver. That still gets yellow numbers. Does anyone even carry special material weapons anymore to test on the Reaver?

I do. My bag's full of weapons. And I'm constantly trying new stuff on quests I've mastered or am bored with. Lately it's been The Shroud. Messing around with new combos of stuff on part 2 a lot. ;)

Yep. He's got 10/Mithril (15 on hard, 20 on elite). You'll have to ask Eladrin why...

Originally I wanted Cloudburst to be made of Mithril, but Graal didn't like that idea, and we never ended up changing his DR afterwards. Early feedback seemed to indicate that it wasn't that tough an encounter, so we left it.

Not to mention his resistance to Electric damage just means that Acid of Greater Giant Bane works much better no matter the DR.

Not really. At 20 DR i would prefer a transmuter rather than Greater Giant Bane. +20 damage > 3d6 + 4.

Stormreaver carries an adamantine sword, evidenced by his ability to cut through stoneskin. The lack of adamantine (or any other material) on Cloudburst is surprising in that light, since it's supposed to resemble his weapon.

It would fit the story better if the Treason shortsword was made of mithral. 1. It's an elf weapon, and elves typically use mithral. 2. It was designed to fight giants such as stormreaver, so the elves would naturally want to beat their DR.


Early feedback seemed to indicate that it wasn't that tough an encounter, so we left it.
It's very funny how the post-release handling of Reaver's Fate and Ascension Chamber was so divergent. In both cases, the intended mechanic to beat the raid wasn't used. It served only as a red-herring to slow down players who wasted their time either trying to learn what the Madstone Rod does, or how to use the Phase Goggles. Once players stopped screwing with the broken mechanic, they could beat the raid through other avenues.

In the case of Reaver's Fate, it was left as-is, and Madstone Rods are worthless. But when Ascension Chamber came around, the raid was edited to make those special items non-optional... in that case, at the expense of it being playable at all.

Even if someone else casts the rod on you, it doesn't dispel madstone rage. The item text is wrong.

I've foudn this can be a godo weapon fro beatign on none air elemetals, works well on teh shroud part 2/4 eles admitadly a Good GEB 2hander would do just as well maby better, but the shokign burst hits earht and fire well and the lightnign bolts are not that rare.
