Disclaimer - uses alot of high end equipment and multiple +2 tomes as they are common now if you run high end content enough. I make no apologies for it.

I love Battleclerics.

I firmly beleive they are amongst the most powerful of classes. As the mods have come out i have rolled new ones made adjustments and refined alot of points.

As it stands endgame today melee killing is either uber dps or special weapons - ie vorpal/banish/w/p etc. A battlecleric can do some pretty sick damage in a dps rout but with the sheer number of hp of some of the endgame mods (read shroud elite etc) it seems like unless ur a maxed barb/rgr ur struggling to keep up esp if everyone else is using a vorpal. Im contemplating rolling this guy to change my clericing up some.

Basic Gameplay and theory.

You have different modes you switch into based on a quest.

1. Max emp Blade Barriers + dps Rapiers/shortswords
2. Instakill + vorpal/w/p
3. Enervate scroll + offensive casting etc if runnin with groups of caster.

Its ur jusdgement as to what happens

Couple of expamples

1. Shroud - adopt mode 2 as well as portal killing.
2. Dq pre reqs - adopt mode 1 and dominate them
3. Ghosts of Perd - adopt mode 3 (enervate scrolls unnecesary)

Basically in general play ur like a support tank + main healer + cc + well just about everything. This gal has so much potential and options it should be very fun. High amounts of multitasking is required tho. The bard level is to open up w/p rapier/ss + longswords and umd + bonus sp.

Human Female True Nuetral 15 Cleric/1 Bard

S 14 + 6 + 2(tome) = 22
D 15 + 2(tome) + 3 = 20
C 10 +6 + 1 +1 = 18
I 8 + 2(tome at lvl1) = 16
W 18 + 4 +6 +3 + 2 +1+2 = 34/36 (36 with crafted ss)
C 8 +6 +1 +1 = 16

Feats

1. Max
1. Emp
3. 2wf
6. Heigten
9. Quicken
12. I2wf
15. I crit Pierce

Skills

Max UMD = 19 + 6 +4 + 3 + 3 = 35
Max Diplo/concentration (cant decide) = 19 + 6 + 4 +4 +15 = 48

HP

20
103
6
30
64

233hp*quite low but with quicken and full heals ur good

Saves (base + ability + GH + resistance + luck + misc)

F - 9 + 4 + 4 + 3 + 2 = 22
R - 6 + 5 + 4 + 3 + 2 = 20
W - 11 + 12 + 4 + 3 + 2 = 32

Standard equipment (i include any reaver loot(not tomes) as its soooooo common)

H - Gr dev 6 helm/charisma for umd and initial dvs
N - Wisdom
T - Head
C - Napkin
Belt - electric haze
Boots - crafted +6 cha skills wiz 6 sp
Br - Steady handed arm bands
R1 - COn
r2 - Conc/diplo
Gloves - Backstabbers
Gogs - Mentau
Bod - blue

To hit

16 BAB
3 DF
4 GH
1 Haste
1 Steady
6 Str
1-3 (w/p rapier and dag i have are +1s and have +3 vorpals)
-2 2wf

= 30-32 first swing - when dpsing add a another 2. add +4 via mentau gogs and thats a great confirm to hit

(add another +1 when using longswords via dol dorn enhancement)

Ok so reading between the lines this guy has got fantastic saves, good melee potential via dps/rapier, near max offensive casting (lack 2 spell pen feats), adequate hp - a very powerful all rounder. Via umd i can ss myself and my party to ease the strain on healing as well as tossing around blur scrolls and the odd displ etc. not too mention equiping rr items. Teleporting will be v nice.

Im looking at crafting him the sp/umd boots + a set of dps shortswords, although i will take the exceptional +2 wisdom on one of them for the tier 3 upgrade so when im dpsing or offensive casting il use that and still have a +5 acid of good burst as well as +2 wisdom.

Im excited about this guy - the main thing at the moment that i can see as a weakness is hp - his to hit should be adequate and an identical bc with 15 cleric who does awesome offensive casting wise.

Thoughts?

Problems?

Cheers n

My 16th Cleric on Sarlona only has 209 hps...Never been a problem to stay up. 1500 sps go quite along ways! ;) P.S. What server is your Guild on?...Just curious

I would choose Concentration unless you plan on running around with Quicken on all the time. Diplo would have its uses for sure, but I think Concentration would serve you better and be used on a more regular basis.

Bod - blue

Blue Dragonscale Fullplate? Or were you going with the robes? ASF while wearing the FP may be a pain in the butt when you try and use those Enervation scrolls.

I always run with quicken on end game so thats why i was even contemplating dropping conc - itd still interrupt scrolls but if im using scrolls which isnt often im generally real far back. Never wear the plate on my other clerics inhibits jump too much normally go with the hide but will pos go robes on her but unsure. doesnt matter from an ac standpointil suck anyhow ;p

Im on argo btw Case.

Bro,

Like the design as it is pretty much along the same line I am doing with my remake, only diff is I placed a lil more in the con vs the dex - +3 will be fine by me with the Fearsome Mith FP  Satch runs with 233 hp right now and Im just not happy with that on the upper end runs.

Albeit another diff is I am sticking with the Cl/Sorc make for the SP/DV gains. The UMD really wont come into play with the equip I have set aside for him (lotta headscratching went into that) and I will be dumping into Concentration/Dip ftw.

Overall I think the design is solid and look forward to runnin with ya on it. Could make for the Cleric Dynamic duo haha, hit me up!

I did a WF Cleric / Paladin on Sarlona that is hitting 278hp at this point, which has never been an issue for me.

I like the basic idea behind the character you have there. I, personally, would go with more Str but that is a bias on my behalf. Besides, it's fun when the cleric walks in and can hit all three runs in VoN 5 and then clear out the bad guys without aid. :)

Yeah the hp are the only weakness i can see and im struggling to think of ways to bolster it. il have perma stoneskin and blur even occasionally displ but via umd so that should help things out there. When are you rolling ur guy? im takin at least a couple of weeks off from rolling new toons im broke lol.

I like the build alot, nick. You always make solid, interesting builds. :)

With respect to the HP issue...

Have you considered dropping Wis to 16? I'm considering doing that on the Shaman build -- because the 2 wis really only matters for instakill/command/etc. Blade barrier is not really affected by it. But those 6 stat points could be huge. I do believe it would take you to 15 base con with 1 pt left over.

Hey Nick,

Not sure if you have already considered making an Evasion-DPS Cleric, but I think it should accomplish what you are setting out to do – with comparable UMD and more hardiness to boot. Consider this:

True Neutral, 32.WF Evasion-DPS, PvP capable Cleric.

Warforged Racial Abilities: Immunities (sleep, nausea, exhaustion, poison, disease, paralysis effects, energy drain, or spells that target humanoids, DQ wrack), extended time underwater before drowning, composite plating (+2AC, light fortification), free Diehard feat (automatic stabilization when incapped), healed by Arcane (full effect) or Divine spells (at –30%).

Base stats: S8 D14 C16 I12 W16 CH6
Endgame stats, depending on endgame gear/tomes:
S14 D22 C24 I12 W31-35 CH 12.

HP: ~314+ base; >350 with 2 self-cast buffs (Aid + Divine power). Can use a Wand of false life and GH for further initial HP boost.

Saves, no gear or buffs, F/R/W: 17/13/19. With buffs/decent gear, >28/24/30. While Reflex is not terribly high, it will allow you to mitigate AoE spells a fair bit of the time.

Skills: Max UMD, then rest of points go into Jump and Balance. Work in 4OL and 1Tumble. With the Golden Cartouche, self-scrolled + GH, +Rogue skill boostI for UMDboost, UMD = ~34+ or better to enable RR gear and Arcane scroll/wand usage. OL will sit at mid 30+’s for basic lock picking.

Feats, in order: Extend, Quicken, Max, Mental toughness I, Empower, Mental toughness II. At level 18, take Heighten.

Level up strategy: 1Cleric, 2Rogue, 3-7Cleric, 8Rogue, 9+Cleric.

Key enhancements:
WF: Follower of lord of blades, Inscribed armor I, CON II, WF Hardiness I.
Rogue: Skill boost I, DEX I
Cleric: Follower of the Lord of blades I, WIS II or III, Wand mastery IV, Energy III or better, Smiting Spec’d (for PvP). Fit in Life of magic II or better.

SP: ~1300 or better depending on gear/tomes.

Spells known: 5/5/5/5/4/4/3. Mostly self- and AoE buffs, Light/alignment based spells, Symbol spells (Pain/Persuasion/Stunning) for SP conservation or occasional Greater Command when AoE CCing when spell resistance isn’t an issue, Cometfall, and a heavy hitting Blade Barrier.

AC: Not good, but self-scrolled Blur/Displacement+Stoneskin when weaving in and out of a heavy-duty Blade Barrier.

Regards, -Daemonis.

Open lock 10 (+15 for item +7 for tools + 4 for GH + 2 luck = 38 and there are almost no locks with dc over 50)

Almost unbeatable in pvp except with pws or getting tripped by a very high damage barb, 150 (400 on crit) point searing lights and 120 (300 oncrit) point defilic vengeances and 250 (400 on crit) point cometfalls are great.

As far as pve goes can solo any vale quest as long as u dont mind going out to get mana ( buff and run like crazy and heal yourself with heal scrolls except for when you're really getting nailed, throw BB and run everything through them and yay! u win! (just dont overdo it by dragging 2 many mobs) And if you're very desperate to melee, pull out a shield and a w/p or a vorpal and pop a divine power on yourself and have fun swinging
