View Full Version : The Shroud, Cleansing Items, Loot tables, 20th completions...

So... here are something things I've noticed and thoughts I had regarding them:

Each raid has a special treasure table associated with it. That table is accessed through the large chest you get after the boss dies. Items like Dreamspitter, Sword of Shadows, Chattering Ring, come out of these dungeon-specific treasure tables.

When you complete a raid for the 20th time (and subsequent 20ths) you get an end reward list chosen from that special raid-specific treasure table.

The Shroud has no large chest at the end which would allow us access to it's dungeon-specific treasure table.

No one that I'm aware of has completed the Shroud 20 times. No one that I'm aware of has found a cleansing item.

See where I'm going with this?

Obivously they devs dont want us to get too many of these cleansing items (that allow you to use more than 1 green steel item at a time).

So what I think is going on is that the devs created their usual dungeon-specific treasure table for the Shroud and then didnt put the final chest in there. That way players cant get anything out of it until their 20th completion. And those 20th completion items cant be traded either.

It's the ultimate untwinkable treasure table. You cant even see it until you get a 20th completion on the Shroud.

So that's what I think is going on... but what I'm excited about is what other items, other than the cleansers, might they have put in the Shourd's final treasure table?!

yeah go read the crafting thread... there are people with the cleansing item.

but I will be happy to see 20 completions as well.

SS or it didn't happen. But seriously, no one has gotten a cleansing stone yet and reported it on the forums.

Yea 20th reward isn't possible yet.

1st shroud completion was some ~50-52 days ago i think.. Minimum time to get the 20th is about 60 days give or take.

I think my main is around 10-14 completions, not really keeping track.

not really keeping track.

And hard to ;)

I think the fact that there is no /quest completions for the shroud is making people not complete it twice a week. I know I am not and I ransack 1-4 almost weekly...

That's because a lot of players choose to play the game and not post / complain / brag on the forums...

Not really a valid point since the post he quoted said "Go check the crafting thread" to see where people had gotten the cleansing item ;)

Looks photshopped to me.

Since I doubt the Dev's would put "UBER!" in the item description.

Yeah...I'm pretty sure mud and/or garth don't have one yet (the poster and the person he mentioned). It looks like someone photoshopped a mnemonic potion.

Current best guesses put them as 20th completion rewards or reward for collectible turn-ins as far as I've heard. Maybe next week we'll try for the collectibles and see.

Obvious photoshop (check the solid erased background behind the key text), followed by "but seriously.."

Case closed.

Just wondering how many out there are like me......

Mutliple completions with Borr and Lorr and still......STILL........

No freaking completions noted anywhere on my toons. No /quest completion (meh....we know about that), no biggie, BUT.....

NO ADVENTURE COMPENDIUM OR FAVOR COMPLETIONS!!!!!!!!

Is this "working as intended"?

I mean, who would even care about 20 completions if you're not even getting credit for 1....

Anyone have any insight into this?

Thanks in advance,
Borr.

Back before we had /quest completions it was still counting the raids, we just never saw it.
Maybe something is broke or it's supposed to be like that, but I believe it was Tolera who did say that there is a 20th completion reward that's unique to shroud just like every other raid.

The Shroud is also worth favor, it just doesn't show up for everyone. After we did elite the other day a few people said they saw it in their logs listed for 33.

this is correct the favor counts.

I obtained my 100 Twelve favor with only 84 favor showing in my favor window because I had the Shroud completed on Hard.

You have shown me the error of my ways, good sir. I recant, as that ss clearly displays an essence of cleansing.

Thanks guys :)

I guess the next logical question is: are the dev's aware of this? And is there any plans to rectify it?

I ask here cuz I just don't have the time to read every page of Bug Hunter or Coddog's.

It's funny that all my thread amounted to was a debate over whether or not someone photoshop'ed that fake cleansing item.

What I was trying to suggest was that without any new tech the devs had a great way to add 20th completion rewards that you cant get anywhere else in the game. This was a very clever usage of existing tech, NICE ONE DEVS!

From there I was hoping to speculate about what interesting items they might have added to this list!

Adding items in the 20th reward and noplace else was a bad idea. No other quest in the game has an item you can only get by running it religiously for 60 days straight.

At minimum, the items should have a 1% chance of dropping in the normal completion list.

Hmmm just speculation maybe 20th end rewards will be the cleansing item, random assortment of green steel blanks, or a chance at +3 tome maybe.

I would be really, really disappointed if I see a green steel blank on my 20th completion list.

I estimate 14 days will pass before some player gets a 20th completion and reports what the possibilities are.

Who says you have to run it every three days? Not like your completion counter resets after the 4th day of waiting between runs.

Green Steel Greataxe anyone?

Finding axes or rapiers will be a BIG disappointment to anyone who has wasted 24 large ingredients on greatswords, mauls, or shortswords.

It would still be a fairly bad idea to create items which can only be achieved after 20 runs of the shroud. There are, simply put, some people who won't ever achieve that milestone, or for whom it will take a very significant length of time.

Giving them a small chance to pull said items from the chest at the end of Shroud 5 would make for much better design.

And it would just be more exciting if every single run, you knew there was a possibility to get lucky and get something extra good. Like how playing the lottery is exciting, even for the people who don't win.

Plus, if there was a 1% chance to get them (per completion), then someone would have gotten them by now, and all players would have an idea of what they can look forward to. That would create more incentive to complete shroud1-5 instead of just 1-4.

I agree, and I dont think the DEV would have put things like named items in there. I expect to see things like this:

Completed focuses, gems, and essences.
+3 tomes
cleansing essence

The only thing you cant get elsewhere in that list is the cleansing essence. And I think that is a logical and fair restriction on that item.
