Tier 3 supreme combo result questions

Let's say I want to make Steam (water + positive)

after i done an combined imbued supreme shard and put it into my greensteel, will the original water and positive effect still there with my greensteel? or my greensteel will just result with steam alone? What i mean is will the result be (just for tier 3):
1) superior Dev VI, Wis +2, Steam
or
2) Steam

And, my tier 1 and tier 2 need to be water and positive too? to make steam.

1 more question, is it possible to have the positive effect instead of the water effect after the combination as i need the Sup Dev VI more

But the combined shard is made out of pos and neg, anyway to know which ability it keeps after forging?

If you are trying to get Steam II then the combined shard for tier 3 has to be Water & Positive.

To answer your other question though, if you do combine a Positive and Negative shard for tier 3, the Positive effect dominates.
