is the WF sorc the best soloing class out there? granted we all know its not a fighter but the only other classes I could think that would come close would be a dwarf battle cleric or a WF wiz.... What other race/classes are great at soloing?

WF Sorcerer or WF Wizard would probably be pretty tough to beat .. but then, soloing is as much a state of mind as it is a build.. If you're careful and take your time, most builds can solo just about anything..

well, that and having the right gear :D

Its a bit pricey, but drow rogues make great solo'ists too

Warforged Sorc N/Pally 2 is pretty tough to pass up, solo-wise. Friend of mine rolled one up after I observed that my WF tank and Drow Sorc/Pally were both decent soloers, and the combo works out well. Warforged immunity to hold and level drain are key for soloing a few different mob types, and Pally saves take care of the rest. Meanwhile, on offense, you've got insta-kill spells, Firewall, and Melee DPS when you need it, too.

I know just about any race/class can solo but I am talking about the best soloers out there... I would say a WF sorc pally would be pretty mean but you lose out on spells taking the lvls of pally... and having to wait any longer for FOD is not a good idea I dont think... I do like my WF wiz though just at the weird lvl of 11 on him... need one more lvl and probably be good to go

I dont see many level 8 spells NOT worth passing up for ~+10 to all saves... the extra level 6 and 7 slots do hurt some though as well as -2 spell pen...

I would say the ultimate soloer would be the wf sorc/paly w/ sneaking skills... I point you to this (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=137289)

You confuse this word "best" with one that actually has a definite answer.

The REAL answer to your question is "Any class/race combo that can do the job."

Warforged Wizard. There spell selection is key to soloing a larger variety of quests. They will do it slower then sorcerers, but do it better in many cases.

On the sorcerer side - it doesn't need to be a warforged. These days a drow can do everything a warforged can do and sometimes even better in terms of soloing - it just takes them allot longer to get to that point tho, as the WF gets the perfect self healing soon as he can use reconstruct scrolls, where as getting the umd to use heal scrolls takes some serious gear.
39+ umd and scroll mastery for flawless self healing - doable these days without spending a single feat.
Correct imunity items can match WF imunites in all ways. Energy drain one can be limited to how many scarabs/silver flame necklaces you have tho.
Superior spell DC/SP reason i put the WF ahead in wiz cat but not sorc, 4 more cha can make a big ifference.
+2 dex/int/wis - all useful to a solo'er.
Biggest downfal is hitpoints, -4 con or more depending on enhancements, but drow sorcs can get great hitpoints too, 230+, or even 270+ with shroud hp item, which is generally plenty.

Shade is pretty much right on par here... the WF wiz is a lot more flexible than a sorc thus allowing it to adjust to quests easily. Any sorc of any race will follow suit just about. Near any quest is soloable by any decent built character should you take the time... but it's flexibility in certain areas which allow for quickness and resourcefulness... What the wizard lacks in sp, it makes up for in preparedness, shear number of spells it has mem'd and of course feat to manage and deliver.

I was going to go with WF Wiz or Sorc... but the new traps on elite makes me lean towards a Rogue splash. It's just entirely too easy to die to a trap even on low-level quests.

Perhaps a WF Rog2/Wiz14 (giving up the non-essentialy lvl 8 spells for Evasion and trapsmithing)....
