Suggestion: Better Splash Screen Art

As any reader of The Dragon from the old days knows, there's a large number of people loose in the world who can create some really nice fantasy art. And ten thousand times that who... not so much.

So, given that this is a cooperative deal between Turbine, Atari, WotC, Hasbro, whoever... why not get together and get some artwork in that does a bit more justice to the DnD property? I really don't see a need to always see something copied essentially from a game instance. Look at the Risia splash screen art. Really nice.

Not saying we need busty Vallejo babes, which would not hurt, but we could use some fantasy art to wow us every so often. Actually, this would be even more effective for new content like new monsters. Have a really great scene sketched up containing clues to the next mod's content.

also are the loading screen art work client side? i want to crab the stormreach load screen that has the tent in it just in case they decide to change it.

That brings up another issue I have. In the main spalsh screen and even on the DDO forums there is a female caster with most of her cleavage and chest area exposed, so clearly they are trying to promote a certain image with that photo. Yet when you play the game it's clear that there is no imagery like that what so ever. So my question is which is it? Which image are they trying to promote for this game? Please Turbine, just make a decision and stick with it.

I welcome their attempts to prove it with more screens. A new image in jpg form is next to nothing to download even over dial-up.

Not like we're asking for a new opening movie. But if they do, they should use the Dating Game parody. It was beautiful.

What we really need is a fan art contest utilizing aspects of an upcoming mod. (ex. Mod 7: Monks, Paladin, Rogue, whatever next boss will be.) There should be prizes as good as the guide contest from a few months back. (Cause quite frankly great artwork takes more time.)

I only suggest this cause I'll pwn the contest! ;)

I'd personally like to just see more splash screens and loading screens in general. I'd like it even more if loading screens had several different variations that rotated around. I know it's only for a couple seconds, but I'm getting a little sick of seeing a giant Nat Gan every time I load into the Marketplace.
