Feat question

I want to take combat expertise as a feat on my paladin. I know that you need a minimum of 13 int to take this feat. I have a base 10 int; however, I recently acquired a +3 int item. If i equip this during my next level up will I be able to take combate expertise or does the pre reqs go off yhour base stat only?

A +stat item will not work.

You would have to burn a tome and use leveling points to get it at this point.

base stat. i wouldn't recommend ability increases for low stats. They are better applied to stats that are or near max. You get more bang for your buck if at creation you drop one of your higher stats by one point and put the points into int. If you really need CE i'd recommend rolling a new character, and going a different route with your current one.
