Hit your jump button and then hit whatever combination of buttons you need to hit to tumble slightly afterwards. Using the default config(space bar, shift+w), it should be done in one hand motion with your thumb hitting the space bar first, followed by pinky on shift and middle on w at the same time.

Get your Tumble obscenely high(over 30 I think) and Tumble.

iirc tumble 32 and over is backflips and side dives, 36 and over is frontflips.
