Hate thread stickied

it has enough views/replys really ( it seems to always be no more then 10 lines from 'stickies' anyway).. it should be stickied...no matter what the name of it is ( double edged sword that ..warns and attracts)...it is a good thread..and we have to have someplace to channel our misplaced/sarcastic/glibb remarks... so why not use what is already established/inplace... and hey ..if the I love you thread gets to 100 pages of posts feel free to sticky that one too.


Just an inspired idea ..aka not my own ..but thought it a valid enough point. ( lol prolly already been done besides in the hate thread itself..but didn't see it)

I don't think it requires a stickie to maintain it's status as one of the best ongoing threads on these boards. In fact, I've always been proud of the fact that it has never required such intervention. The Hate Thread has never slipped far down onto page 2 of the main server forum listing - and that is in itself a rarity that it slips down past the upper half of the first page.

It's our thread - something kept alive by the community out of mutual admiration and respect, despite the title & good natured jabs at each other it contains. We don't need the stickie to give it relevance and importance, our own attention does that. Perhaps I'm alone in this - but I feel like having it stuck at the top of the page would be like selling it out, losing some of what makes it special in an attempt to make it seem more so. We don't need it.

To get the Sponsor a Newb thing stickies all I did was send a pm to Q - that and I had to ask about cross posting (for some silly reason its against the rules - needed them to make an exception) - What I find interesting is that someone on one of the servers said "it shouldn't be stickied - we'll decide that for ourselves" which I thought was rather rude - especially the way they worded it - but oh well.

I can see both Womp's and Mem's opinions on getting the Hate thread stickied. Having it stickied would make an interesting statement about this board, but I also like that the posters have kept it at the top of the board all this time. It is so truly Xorian which has infected the rest of us in the merger.
