Every once in a while its fun to pose this question for the drool factor..

What have you recently found at the Weapons or Armor Vendor that stands out, that was OMG purchase?


Because we now have tons of Shroud runs going on, and cool things be a dropping that some don't want nor willing to broker, they get sold to our weapons vendor in house D...


For me.. a couple nights ago I found..



+1 Holy Burst Longsword of Maiming. RR Human. Level 10




I've a level 9 Fighter thats specc'ed for slashing, with Improved Crit, greater weapon focus.. blah, blah blah..He's made with THF and Greater THF.. but can effectively go sword and board with a slasher.

Is find the most uber weapon?



NO.......



But.. for a level 10 weapon, 1D8 + 2d6 + 8 STR + weapon specialization +1, great weapon specialization +1, =14-30 per normal hit, before crit.

( Crit 20% of the time I'll get +1d10 holy burst + 2d12 maiming), for an extra 3-22 .. or on a crit x2 it will equal.. 28-60 + 3-22 .. = 31-82 on a crit......which is averaging every 5th swing.........that's getting near........near.. not same, not better.. Rage Crit Barbarian territory....... add in cleave and greater cleave, I am doing really great damage for a simple sword and boarder...

Yes, I am sure it will be said that a Sorc with fire specialization plus fire wall.... or a Barbarian with a +5 Great Axe Raged.. .. yada, yada, yada... but I am very happy with this find.


Yes sword and board is not optimal for end game elite content.. but for all level 9,10,11,and 12 quests on normal and hard... wow...just wow..


whats your coolest Vendor find in the last month or two...


I've actually seen quite a few paralyzers in the Argo vendor..no banisher, vorpal, or smiters, but quite a few paralyzers....so not much wow factor in Paralyzers any more.

I am one who always lists banisher's, vorpal's and others at reasonable prices. Maybe why I find sweet deals - Karma for teh win!

Vorpal Kama of Shattermantle was 90k plat buyout.

+2 Transmuting Heavy Mace of Greater Evil Outsider Bane; found two of these on the Vendor at the same time just moments before joining a Shroud run.

In terms of the vendors, my most recent gem of a find was a suit of +5 Adamantine Full Plate. Not exactly the bestest OMG awesomest thing ever found on a vendor. But it sure was nice to pay vendor price for it than what most people were charging for it on the AH.

And a bonus to this rare find? The armor looks pretty too. It's silver and blue, and really one of the nicer looking full plate graphics.

However, my best find was on the auction house itself. I was able to pick up a pair of Chaosgardes with 20k plat buyouts. Someone I think missed a zero. But it was late Wednesday night, and was ripe for the plucking. My alts are ecstatic to inherit these wonderful wristbands.

Before I knew how much things were worth I put numerous things on the ah by mistake: a wounding/puncturing rapier, a silverbow, a planar gird. I don't even want to tell you how much the gird and the bow went for, its too embarassing. I remembered being overjoyed when I got 15k plat for the wounding/puncturing rapier and that was only because I didn't think to put a buyout on it. N00bsauce with sprinkles man. :)

My best AH find was a Stone of Good Luck for 50kpp buyout. Never seen another one on the AH since, but my rogue is keeping a trinket slot open for it :D

Lets see, what have I found on the AH for good buyouts.

Sold a Wounding of Puncturing longbow for 20mil gold, turned around and bought one for 60k gold the next minute.

Umm, what else...wounding of puncturing dagger bought for 800k gold, sold for 8mil gold.

Bought a TON of lowbee items off of House D vendors, mostly elemental of pure good weapons, and sold them all for 150k gold.
Made millions doing that.

A vorpal longsword, back before Gianthold came out, for 1mil gold...prolly my best moment.

Ive had a ton of luck on the AH, those moments when you see something at a rediculously low buyout and yer hands go all shakie as you try to hit "Buyout" before someone else see it.

2 (!) chaosguard bracers, one right after the other for 180,000gp each
+5 mithral tower shield of spell resistance 15 (rr something) for 150,000 gp

I was gonna make a new toon all speced out for it got a disrupter and banisher from a guildie, and my guess is all three are doing the same now as they were when thier previous owners had them, sitting in the bank....sigh one day they will be put to use.

Given that the vendors are cleaned out by the game every so many hours, everyone has the same chance of finding something. It's rare that I go to the House D weapon vendor and don't find a few people standing around in there waiting.

last +1 loot weekend to get the best out of my haggle my bard rolled into k to sell some trash armor and i always take a look to see if anyone trashing something i could use and i about sh^t myself the first thing i saw was a +4 fearsome mithal brestplate of silentmoves r/r human level 14 req 14 was still the level cap and i yet to find better armor i believe it out there somwhere i hit the buy button as fast as i could and i still wear my find today cant decide if i will ever bind it.

I say it counts because the AH was critical in me obtaining it, but the tome itself was not put on the AH, a guildie pulled it, a fighter, no use for it on any of her alts, so she was going to sell it on the AH I asked if I could buy/trade it from her, she asked for any good Holy Bursting edged weapons, I ran through a list of what I had, to no interest, then started on what I could find on the AH, I found one she wanted for 650k GP bought it and traded it to her shortly after, I love guildies :D

Oh and before anyone says anything, I told her I was looking at the AH for stuff, and I also gave her a +1 Flaming Burst Khopesh of Greater Elemental Bane that I had in the bank (I never did roll the khopesh user I was going to so it was useless to me) so that I wouldn't feel I was cheating her.

Yup, found a gem for myself too but it was not at the Auction House but at a Vender.

Here about 6 weeks ago, while I was selling a back pack full of stuff to the armor vender in house K.

I happened upon a suit of +5 mithral chain with lesser acid guard and lesser fire resistance on it. Talk about almost cr@ping myself! :D

I bought that armor so fast my head was still swimming. I spent the rest of that day wondering who in their right mind would have sold that armor to any vender.

Needless to say, that suit of chain was a great find and I'm still running around in it to this very day.

I guess the moral of this story and the others in this thread are, one man's junk is another man's treasure. :cool:

+6 Str gloves 23K plat (man I needed a pair of those)

as well as some other stuff that seemed pretty good at the time. I don't have that much luck at the vendors, but sometimes I can pick up something pretty nice for a lot less than what they go for on the AH.

Usually I'm completely amazed at the stupid pricing on the AH and what some people think that it is worth, but occassionally you find stuff that is such a good deal it makes you shake your head.

My most recent steal was a banishing dagger off the AH for 25kpp about 1 day after Mod 6 went live. Other goodies I found in the past there was a disease immune/hvy fort belt for 10 kpp and a +6 dex +3 blech gloves lev 13 for 7 kpp. Best all time? 3kpp for a set of chaosguards, and 5k pp for a +5 mithral tower shield.

Off the vendors? My best scores there have been a +1 cold iron holy burst longsword of pure good back in mod 4, and a breatplate of vol from the armor guy around christmas :)

About a week ago I found a large gem bag in the AH with a reasonable buyout price. Bought it and sent it to my rogue. I opened it to move the gems from my medium sized gem bag to the large one and found that the large one I just bought was still packed with 1K,2K and 5K gems! Seems the person who sold it forgot to remove the gems before they did. Opps? lol :P

The Boots aren't as impressive, because most people would rather have other effects in their Boot slots, and try to get Dex on ring/gloves/bracers (Inferno Bracers) rather than on Boots.
