Here is a prefacing article regarding a new movie coming out called "Second Skin"
http://www.sundayherald.com/news/heraldnews/display.var.2104838.0.0.php
Now IMDB doesn't even list it yet but there is a trailer on YouTube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPOxuOCGi9I
On a related note, I'd like to see a documentary on what game developers think of their player base. The devs must have a very unique (read: godsucking funny) viewpoint.

It says 50 mil play in Azeroth. Overall the article is poorly written and a rehash of many other articles i've seen on the topic. The movie probably won't have any revilations in it either.

Isn't this another form of Yellow Journalism?

Since when does WoW have 50 million subscribers?
Since "journalists" stopped caring about fact-checking.
Luckily Johnathan Hickman offers us an effective solution:

I think the article meant 50 million in MMO's not 50 mill in WOW.
WOW does not involve 50 million people.
Looks like a good movie BUT I stress I will have to watch it first. My suspicion is that it will protray the industry in a negative life furthering the idea that Video games and MMO's are addictive and its just not so.
For some people yes they get addicted but not specifically from the game. More than likely they had problems before they logged on.
We shall see how the movie plays out. I am glad they are addressing the issue as people who play online turning their marraiges into divorces or starve their kids because of a game make the rest of us look bad.

Keep waiting.
Tom Hanks is far to busy now-a-days to revisit a classic!

See now, I didn't get the vibe that it was going to be a slag on the MMOG community. More of a typical storytelling angle.
Of course, no filmmaker in their right mind is going to make a documentary that will be boring so gird your loins.
But an article about the MMO community from the inside ::looks at developers:: well, now that would be...... :D

Wasn't Tom Hanks in that one? The original I mean. They could always bring him back for it. *chuckles* And yes... I think I remember seeing that back when I was much younger.
