Guys any ideas on what are the known bugs with throwing weapons.


I seem to have a bug on my ftr/rog with improved precise shot, that when its turned on i dont get a attack roll at all on my main target or any mobs in between


precise shot is working fine though

improved precise shot was made a toggle awhile ago go through your feats find it and place it on your hotbar my guess is you don't have it turned on.

yes it is turned on........ otherwise i'd get a hit with my normal preicision


when it is turned on i dont get an attack roll at all

what are you throwing? I do not have this problem with archery.

First thin that came to my mind... was throwing 'Weapon Bugs"... wonder what kind of Dmg a Bug does :D:p;)

Are you targeting a mob or just throwing at it? Remember how Improved Precise Shot changed so you don't have to have a mob targeted and the shot just hits anything it passes through? Maybe that affected Precise Shot negatively so that now shots just travel through targeted mobs?

Does anybody have a list of what feats actually effect thrown weapons? There are some feats whose descriptions are somewhat unclear as to whether they work with thrown weapons or just bows.

Quick Draw, Point Blank Shot, Rapid Shot, Precise Shot, Shot on the Run, Improved Precise Shot
Weapon Focus: Thrown, Weapon Specialization:Thrown, GrWF:Thrown, GrWS:Thrown, ImpCrit:Thrown.

A guildie was complaining to me last night about IPS not working right, and he did have it enabled. We may have a real problem here.

I haven't noticed much yet.

If I'm not mistaken, Rapid Shot does not affect thrown weapon attack speeds. Quick Draw is to thrown weapons as Rapid Shot is to bows.

I'd love to be wrong on this so I can repsec my throwing weapon toon and get a higher rate of fire, but I'm pretty sure Rapid Shot does not affect throwing weapon attacks.

Though, I will add that at BAB+14 and higher, having both feats doesn't add much. It's only 2-3 extra throws per minute. At lower BAB, it's anywhere from 5-8 extra attacks per minute.

it is broken only in the effect that it doesn't stop at its target, but keeps going.

Manyshot... now that one is broken. say if you are disrupting with it. Once a group disrupts, the entire group just stops there.

Having the same issue with my WF Ranger. It only seems to happen with throwing hammers though. I tried turning on/off IPS and switching throwers and here's what I got.

Maldroit Hammer, IPS on: No rolls, no damage, no effects.
Wounding Dagger, IPS on: Rolls, damage, and effects.
Maldroit Hammer, IPS off: Rolls, damage, and effects.
Wounding Dagger, IPS off: Rolls, damage, and effects.

Then the next time I went to use the hammers, they were working fine. So there is some unknown still in the mix.

Respec in progress. But I'm still not 100% convinced Rapid Shot will work even if Codog says so (he was wrong once this decade, I'm sure of it ;)). Since I have always been under the impression that Rapid Shot wouldn't affect things my build it never had it. But at the cost of a dragon shard the potential gains for the build are worth it so we'll just call it an experiment. It's more likely the whole thing will involve a re-roll anyways since this was an prototype 28-point that I created a long time ago and never got around to really tweaking him.

I have to say though MB that I am a little skeptical on how much you think this will change the RoF. I'm not really sure if there is any way to actually calculate those numbers, but I feel the effect would be higher than 2-3 extra attacks per minute. If you have insight into how I could quantify the effect of having a) Quick Draw, b) Rapid Shot, and c) both, that would be appreciated too.

He did the tests to add that info to his Weapon Comparison Tool. I am quoting his numbers (they match my time trials, as well). If he gives me permission, I will repost his data charts (in part or in full).

Dwarven axe attack does not seem to be adding +1o hit on throwing axes, and Dwarven axe damage doesn't look like it's adding to the damage.
