Rogue only run- Shroud

Now I'm on Argo but has anyone done an all rogue run of the Shroud yet?

If not... let do some. I don't know the whole thing yet so I'm not the best choice to lead it but I know there is a little knifey minded halfling out there with some experience that is willing to show us the ropes on this venture. Almost everything in there is Sneak Attack vulnerable (except the Earth and/or Fire Elementals in Part 2)... though I don't know about parts 4+ as all of my runs have been 1-3. But I think that rogues could pull this off pretty well if we put our minds to it.

Now my Rogue is an MC rogue not pure by any stretch but I'm over 50% rogue and I think that may be the watermark for rogueness requirements. Not looking for splash rogues for this one.

SO? How about it folks?

Rameses I nominate you to lead the intrepid fight on Argo... I'll help the best I'm able but again I've only done a few Shroud 1-3 runs.

I have hosted a couple all rogue tempest runs in the past which are quite fun. An all rogue shroud would be cool. Part 5 would be rather difficult. The venture would cost a lot of heal scrolls but its certainly doable.

I'm not 100% Healing Scroll I'm closer to 75%... but I'm sure between the lot of us we can keep each other alive. That's the beauty of Rogues we are so diverse that we can do anything.

POrtals.. I have Greater Construct Bane Sword but I'm not sure that's enough... Let's see what comes to the table. 3 or 4 taking out the spawns with a bunch of us n the Portals should be able to do it though.

Rocking the Scrolls and Wand Whips is something I definatley see in the future of this endeavor. For the living SA vulnerable crowd we should be able to drill them down in no time... the rest we'll see.

That would work for me last one I have left to run is Rainbow in the Dark, been having a hell of a time getting Tactile flagged lately there are a lot of ignorant assed people putting groups together on Arggo that don't seem to realize what a Rogue can do, although that just means more peoples groups my Cleric and Wiz have to sort through. (god I love import/exportable friends lists :D).

Ill be running coalescence elite tonight sometime (gotta knock out that last bit of favor). On side note, is everyone responsible for their own healing once we get in the Shroud, or are we gonna have the higher UMD types play healers. Reason i ask is that my rogue carries at least 200 heal scrolls at all times, but if she's gonna be playing healer, thats gonna get a bit pricey. Just a question that ive been pondering.

I think we'll be responsible for out own healing but if people can keep an eye on each other that would be the nice thing to do... I always try to keep people alive... it doesn't always work but hey I do what I can. Also I know if I start costin people a lot of scrolls I'm gonna be sending them some replacements.

While everyone should be able to do some form of self-healing themselves, I think teamwork will be the key to success. I think it's only appropriate that donations of scrolls be made to whomever is going to be primarly helping to watch hp bars.

I'm very sorry, I've been incredibly busy and quite frankly, haven't had the time or energy to get the last couple quests done that I needed to do with Aerren. I need Coalescence and Ritual. I had hoped to get them done this week but it just hasn't worked out.

If I have to bow out I'm sorry, although I have two arcanes (sorc and wiz) flagged for the quest. I hate to be a party-****er but the flagging just hasn't really worked out.

Illusionary has 2 levels of rogue. Granted I've never seen him use any skills.
But then I've never seen Aerren use any skills either other than kill mode and evasion.

Man looks like I really missed the fun last nite. Luckily while waiting for the window to be replaced in my car(after someone was nice enough to break it for me), I got to do a guild run of parts 1-4. So at least I have an idea of what to expect now.

Part 1 had so many close calls, I've never had so much fun! We had Portal Keepers spawning about every minute. Tons of Orthons and yet... them silly non-DPS Rogues still managed to do it.

Alas, poor Shawlin. I knew him well. (though being dead more times than we had Rogues didn't stop him from contributing to the greater "good.")

What a blast! Yes, we wiped on part 2. But that only adds to my resolve to figure out a way to beat part 2.

Definately a lot of fun. Need to plan a little better though.
suggestions:
for part
1. 8 people on a Portal and 4 taking out spawns and Keepers (this may work)
2. we need to control how many bad things we're taking on at once a bit better. We don't have massive AoE effects and AoE crowd control so we need to control how many thingies we are fighting at the same time. Have everyone meet in one place is the ultimate goal but we have to make it there in one piece is the problem. If SW is the corner to meet in have the 2 largest adjacent groups get together first and clean up what ever baduns they have between them and then move to get to the next group one step at a time. Rinse and Repeat. Depending on how well we can stealth around in there we may be able to move people together and then move out in a larger group and pick up straglers.

my big question was did people really burn through resources in there badly. I wasn't tossing a lot of heals myself because I'm not 100% UMD on those but were the heavy UMDers blowing through scrolls a lot. I know I got hit with 4-5 myself... and Shawlin got a number as well... though that was mostly because he was the sacrificial lamb out there and the Orthons seemed to love him long time.

Part four is probably gonna be the tricky one, but if we all range him, and take out the other mobs fairly quickly we should be in good shape. Maybe a little time consuming, but i think we can manage.

Part five Dont die and hope someone has a genie cake left :)

For the trash mobs XXXXX of Puncturing, not too hard to find, as people think it has to be wounding of puncturing. For the nameds, I use holy burst silver rapier of pure good and transmuting ss or pure good. Try not to fight the ele's but if i have to carry grtr banes for them. For the Pit fiend, holy of pure good bow, and silver arrow/bolts from house d favor.

From the sounds of it, you guys don't need to worry about part 1 since you already completed it.

If you don't want to sneak/doesn't work, basically just have the corner with the largest number of people clear a couple mobs near their corner, and slowly make their way over to the next corner. This is where having a number of rogues that can UMD heal scrolls would help. It'll hurt if you only have wand whippers that appear w/ the largest group. You're right, since you guys don't have crowd control, you definitely don't want to pull everything in one large fight. For the red names, hopefully some in your crew have a decent variety of dps weapons (grtr banes of gnoll/elemental/reptile/evil outsider/etc.) to knock the red names down.

If you can get past the initial wave of devils, this part should be no prob. It may take a while, but ranging him (within 30 ft. to still get sneak attack damage), nobody should take much damage at all since everyone's sporting evasion. Just have to make sure everyone has the right arrows/ranged weapons to get past DR.

I think you guys will be alright in part 5, mostly the same as in part 4....stay away from him, and range him within 30ft. to get that sneak attack. Overall, you guys shouldn't be taking that much damage during the pit fiend portions, I don't think it'll be as resource intensive as some make think. The biggest obstacle you guys have is when you have a bunch of trash mobs to get rid of.

As an after-effect, I might be forcing that guy to remake his deleted rogue, so maybe there will be more rogues to give this a go next time around.
