I don't know what the plans are for the crater that used to be the tent...probably already formulated but what I thouht was this: Fill the crater with water and put a little isalnd in the middle with a statue of Lord Gary Gygax with an inscription that reads "Lost During the Devil Invasion A True Hero of Stormreach"
BTW Great Job on the Event Devs well worth it for me.

Gotta have a place to put the vendors back at (so can't be a pond), but would still be worthy place for his monument.

Why not relocate the vendors to the Phoinex tavern. Has lots and lots of space in the back that is absolutely not used at all. I've been back there a lot you could put all the vendors there and still have room left over.

/ponders.
Yeah, that could work too. Just know it's a real pain having them all crammed into Rusty as it is atm.

You could put all the venders in the bogwater, its the biggest tavern in the game.
I think the crater where the tent was at, will be the starting point for MOD 7

I was going to suggest turning the location into the Stormreach Public Baths :D:D:D

not a bad idea but its so 9/11
While Gygax was the man behind the commercialization of the rules, dont forget the others who built the first set of rules (esp. Dave Arneson). A monument to all the original others of the first 3 (or first 7) paperback editions seems appropriate to me.
Why wait until each of them dies to honour them in some way? If the achievement was dying, honour Gygax. If the achievement was creating D&D, honour them all.
Perhaps all seated around a round table that forms the roof of the new market?
If there is to be a memorial of some type, it sould be located in delaras grave yard, close to the quest that bears his voice.
DDO should have one player contest on a design of the memorial and another for the inscription.
It would be nice to have a statue with an inscriptions as a co-founder of D & D,;) in the hope that something similar might also be done when Dave Arneson joins his long time friend Gary
Gygax for that final campaign in the afterlife.

Just leave the vendors where they are in the rusty nail. Give us a monument of Gygaxian proportion!

I disagree, the grave yard is far too out of the way for a tribute. It should be front and center in the market place.

Well, they could put the vendors back where they used to be - Clothing and Jewelry vendors back in their respective Houses, and the weapon and armor sellers back with their fellow merchants, again.
Then there would only be the handful of reagent, scroll, wand and potion vendors to throw somewhere in the marketplace.

They should have him as an NPC in a tavern with others seated at the table playing D&D and him DMing.:D

How about a nice wee memorial fountain and an open air market.

Cannot disagree with you there either. Or an NPC in the market place in the likeness of Gary that gives role playing tips.:D

Wow. Tactless, yet tasteless.
