You need martial weapon proficiency, which clerics don't have, to access D-axe as a dwarf.
Technically, dwarves don't get the D-axe for free, they merely treat it as a martial weapon.
hope that helps!

pah leese...
To use it without penalty, you need to be proficient with the dwarf axe. Either take the feat for the axe or take a level of a class that can wield it (fighter, barb, ranger, pali).

Can clerics cast Master's Touch? If so, that will do it.

I don't think so.
As for the OP, your best bet is to take a level of Fighter or Paladin for the martial weapon proficiency. Fighter will get you an extra feat too, but you'll lose out on some SP. Pali will give you the aura for an extra point of AC and you will get SP for that level as well. The biggest downside of this is that you will get your cleric spells a level later than a pure cleric, but that's not too big of a deal. Every one of my dwarven clerics has taken a level of paladin at 2 and I've never regretted it.
You could also check out the Cleric class forums here for more help.
