IF the Twelve have a Giant Ion Cannon capable of focused destruction on a massive scale.....then.....What the hell do they need us to beat a pit fiend for? anyone else see the fallacy here?

That wasn't the Twelve's Giant Ion Cannon.

Did it have something to do with a giants and a floating city?

That wasn't the Twelve's Giant Ion Cannon.

What was it then? A modification of the Titan laser that hovers in outer space and focuses magical energy into first a pentagonal and then swivels it around into a focal point to cause a huge explosion?

Edit: or perchance it was a Shavarath mental attack at players who existed prior to the Auction House's introduction, because players who have no clue what a Lhazaar/Ghallanda/(insert server name here) Bazaar day won't get how that was the center of economic interest in stormreach. At this point its more like Meridia and Gianthold who supply the wealth and supplies to Stormreach via our intercession in the affairs of the people living there.

The only other thing I can think of would be that the Devils changed the barrier into an offensive weapon like the Light Hawk Wings on Tenchi Muyo, but that seems highly doubtful.

So let me get this straight, you are saying that the twelve blew up the market tent? Or is it more likely that before the twelve got the barrier down, the devils blew up the tent as revenge for our killing artichoke? Gee I wonder which is more likely.

perhaps it was a beam of energy that was meant to knock out the portal and the barrier and the market tent was just a consequence of not fully working out all the details of the thing they were using to try and get the barrier down...or refer to my edit of the last post.

Edit: The Ion Cannon theory comes from: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ul7dv0PeeBQ&feature=related - Look alike? I thought so too...

No, the devils blew up the tent.

The Twelve were in the process of preparing the assault when the devils beat them to the punch.

I think it was Velah's death ray. That's why she's been seen so often flying around the tower in marketplace lately. She's in cahoots with the Twelve!!!!!

And we all know that the plane of night is located in the heavens directly above the market, which is exactly where the beam came from.
