I tried DDO when it first came out, but didn't have what it took to keep me ingame then. Got into some other games since and haven't been back to retry it until now. I've done abit of reading and saw the pts requirements you need to open up the Drow and 32 pts builds. I would normally make a Ranger, Rogue or Bard, but will hold off on them until I atleast open up the Drow for a skill Rogue, Ranger and Bard maybe until i open up the 32 Pts builds.
So the question I have really is this, Which class is best to start opening up the 32 Pts builds without having to reroll later. I was thinking either a Warrior or Paladin, since i'd probably stop playing it after openning the 32 pts build, and they are classes i've never really been into in D&D settings, but would like input from established players. Appreciate any and all insights and help. Thanks in advance.

Paladin or cleric.
Really, just pick an elf cleric with 17 str, 15 wis, 14 con. Use rapiers and longswords to kill stuff, cast Divine Favor every 2:00, cure spells to heal yourself alive, and you'll easily get 400+ favor. That's the simplest way to do it, without needing to buy magic items.

If you just want a quick route to drow and 32 point builds...make a cleric...you will always have a group available to you :P

I'd say cleric, because you will never, ever have problems finding a group on your way to 1750.
And having a cleric is just a good thing.

I'd go max str paladin. You can heal yourself, solo, but the difference b/w that and going w/ cleric is you won't be expected to worry about healing the group when pugging out.

yes but if your objective is to level and get favor you are more likely to find a party with a cleric. The quality of said party varies however

Opening up drow is a LOT quicker than opening up 32-pointers. Most people have drow acces by 7th level even if they weren't trying. 32-pointers, on the other hand, typically aren't available till well into the teens. I'd say if you're interested in playing a drow, go with a melee type (paladin is a good solid choice, or maybe a warforged meleer with adamantine body - those are great fun at low levels) and use it to unlock drow, then make the drow character you are most interested in for the long haul.
