Explain to me the Stacking bonus concept

Ok, I just upgraded my Greensteel boots from Tier 1 to Tier 2. The one question I have is that I currently have a 32 Charisma. Which is from using 1 +2 Cha Tome, a +6 Cha Cloak, and then 4 points from Feat. BTW I am a DROW so I maxed my charisma from start. The question I have is that I would have thought my CHarisma would be 34 now, due to the stacking properties of the boots being tier 2. Am I mistaken on that? Should I bug this? Probably just me being a dorkus, but I want to make sure as if not I may choose another route if I cant get the extra Charisma.

The Charisma on the items is an enhancement bonus. It will not stack with your +X charisma item. It is meant to replace it.

Edit. hmm I am thinking of the weapon bonus.

why then would they ever call it a stacking bonus? Also why then could I not make a +6 Charisma Greensteel armor item but you can a weapon? Something doesnt add up here.

Are you sure it doesn't say Charisma "skills" ie umd, diplomacy etc?

I didn't think you could get charisma on an item, just weapons.

The Boots(And any other Wearable) are SKILL Bonus' Not Attribute bonus'

(Except for the Wisdom one... But thats is indeed an enhancment bonus and will not stack with other enhancment items)

Stacking Stat point bonus's are only on weaponry
