Hey there. First off, I love the new Raid. I like the multiple parts, and that everyone has a chance to do something useful at some point.

One question for the devs - why was the death "penalty box" removed from Part 2? I personally like the idea of having it there - it makes things much more challenging. Especially when you consider that Part 3 is pretty much a 4-chest gimme for any group with 2-3 experienced players, you are essentially getting 6 chests for completing Part 2. To get that much, you should have to work hard for it.

And while I'm sure that sometimes this would cause people to actually fail Part 2, I wonder if it wouldn't get better over time as people learned how to do the quest. After all, many groups up until the latest fix were using the crystal exploit to get around the whole encounter - most people haven't had a chance to run it the way it was designed.

Since I'm sure this message will generate all sorts of nasty messages from those who like the change, I would also like to propose a compromise where the death penalty box is included only on the Hard and Elite difficulties.

Thanks for reading.

Haven't seen this change yet, have been playing my lowbies more than my mains lately.

I definitely liked the old system. Having the 'idiot box' really made Part 2 challenging and interesting.

I'd like to see it return on all difficulties.

I like the recent change. NOT having the penalty box is a great idea as Hard and Elite is actually quite difficult. I have been in 5 hard runs and we are 5 for 5 with having the Bearded Devil which is by far the most difficult AND annoying of the red names, and on Elite we are 1 for 1 with the Bearded Devil. As no one can "grab" his agro, he constantly jumps around hitting every and any one he can which makes it very difficult to complete as tanks can't beat him silly, or casters can't cast any spells on him, being red named takes FoD/PK/Banish/Destruction out of the picture. I'd like to see his teleporting knocked down a bit. as it sits right now, you MIGHT be able to get a single swing in. And if you have a group of people is "cleave" is on every attack and very painful for the less hp oriented players.

the answer to the 4 chest gimme would be to make part 3 harder. nothing to do with part 2.
and personally i don't think the number of chests are unreasonable. given that there is no quest reward. and groups still sometimes fail at 2, and regularly at 4 and 5.

as for the penalty box change. I'm for it. primarily because as was pointed out the devil on elite is demented. he _will_ kill players. repeatedly. lots of them. half your party at once if you aren't careful. that wizzy off having a smoke in the opposite tree, he's toast. the cleric in the corner spamming mass heals from outside range, thanks for coming. the guy trying to kite the gnoll, stick a fork in him.
you get the picture

I hate penalty boxes... I'm far to ADD to survive them. At least if you hit the penalty box in hockey you can still watch people play, but the DDO boxes are dull. Now if they gave me a 60" TV to watch the rest of the party run around and kill things it wouldn't bother me much, but as it is, no penalty box is a good thing.
