Oh god, the connection to server has been lost!

Hullo, I just bought DDO, just went through the extensive patching phase, then excited as hell I tried to log on... but... the launcher works fine, can patch, log in there, choose a world. But when the actual game starts up, it gets to the screen where it says "Loading New Game Data" and then just stops, the little bar is at the bottom but its doing 0.0 KB/s for some reason, then after a few minutes I get "The connection to server has been lost" error. I've tried a bunch of different things, turning off firewalls, opening ports. I'm running windows xp. Any thoughts would be really helpfull, thanks.

Do you have anything on your system that may be eating up bandwidth? Also if you are on a wireless connection. Tried a hard line to the router and see if that helps.

Look at the date and time of the post. There was a major network snafu with Turbine around that time and shortly thereafter even the forums became unreachable.

hi i am having the exact same problem and have tried the above but to no avail very frustrated someone please help had game for week and just wanna have a go
