As many of you know, I am waiting for AoC.

I will continue my account here but I will also be playing there.

My reason for posting is this. If anyone is thinking of p[laying that game, I will be forming an Adult Mercenary Guild on the PvE/PvP server (server names unknown at this time).

I will be the token leader (unless someone else wants the chore), but all guild decisions will be open vote and major policies will be by Officer Committee. I like to have fun, I am not interested in being leader.

Having played DDO (and other games) for a while, I have discovered certain traits and focuses to be key to being a good gamer.

1. Humour
2. Humour
3. A desire for excellence (in skills, and party communication)
4. A common goal.

With that in mind, my plan will be to start the guild with friends and known comrades. Having been around Legion, GoL, GoX, Novus Via, Kebek, X, BOA, Dark Blades and so many others I have decided to emulate them rather than recreate the wheel.

Basically, start a Guild of good players, recruit good players and focus on being good at the game. No inter-guild drama... no immature behavior and basically.. Guild with friends.

As the game gets closer to release I will begin my plan. If someone is thinking of playing that too... or solely please feel free to say hi...

I will continue to play DDO.. I just won't focus totally on DDO.

/peace

If I wasn't limited on time, AND if I wasn't cheap, I'd join you in a minute. Good luck Scars!

Castar, Fnor, Cadwell, and the rest of Stormrune/Relics will likely be involved in the launch. Some are in Beta. We're unsure if we'll stick to it or if it'll be another Vanguard. It'd be good to meet up with you on the server you're playing -- find the one with the best name and people! Castar is scouting it for us right now I believe. I'll see if Skobak and Rheddrian are in the beta yet as well.

Day 3 of 5 on AEF 803 is doneplete. My LCE score was 40 (1 from High-Sat, ****!) I told someone to go investigate the "bomb" alone because I only wanted one person to die if it exploded (and thus I got a 1 instead of a 2 on motivation). ^_^ Go Figure!

Couldn't get in on beta although I signed up for it (as you may remember). I have pre-ordered it though and just waiting on it to be shipped in May.

I'm planning to play and will probably want to join a guild after getting my feet wet.

I'm pretty casual in terms of how much play time I put in but humor I can do and I can at least fake excelence :P

Well Clay if you promise to be good, give me all your loot, borrow me [edit: a cup of sugar], and basically just smoochy my arse....
I won't let you back in Legion, but I'll let you play with us again....on your cleric....and only in the Shroud.

K? :D

Drop a PM to me with the server name once its figured out. I believe a bunch of our guild (Dead Blades) will be trying it out - while maintaining our DDO subs.

I've been thinking about it, and I'd like to know more? What's the combat like? DDO style or more like WoW? What about character customization? The two things I really like about DDO (besides the jokes about people's moms) is the active combat and range of options in character building. It'd be tough to go to a game without those.

I'm thinking that AoC will at least be good for a few months of play. It's pretty and that's worth at least a month of casual play. It has lots of features and that's worth some play. From what I've seen of combat it isn't as good as DDO but it is more free roaming than the stand and click of Wow or EQ.

As with most MMO games I've got concerns about really irritating players which is why I'm keen on finding a guild of mature folks to join in with. I'm not going to start a guild there like I did in DDO. D&D has been my game of choice for 20+ years so it was a no brainer I'd like DDO and want to be very involved.

A lot of my old guildies here will probably give it a whirl too. New games always have a lot of excitement.

I will be with AoC on launch.

Just let me know what server and guild name.

It may be an interesting break from the DDO grind. As it stand now I am looking at a bear shaman for my first toon if they still exist. And I to was rejected from Beta.

I actually thought about heading over to that game but I was going to wait for a trial first before I bought it. I havnt checked out any videos though so maybe while bored at work today I'll do that instead of lurking around the DDO forums :P

The game looks visually great. A couple people I know in beta are not happy with combat, which I believe they are revamping and caused the late release.

They are also ****ing with the classes before launch to, merging and deleting from what I have heard/read.

At least they are trying to release a full product over that POS that was vanguard.

yeah vanguard was released early before completion but its gone through a huge overhaul since release. I was actually playing that game after I left wow (before coming back to DOO). The game is pretty sweet now. only reason I left was I didnt know any one and like most MMO's, it sucks when you dont know anyone, and there is very little solo content in vanguard. With a group though its a pretty awesome experience. I like the combat system in Vanguard.

Lots of changes have occured in AoC and many of them don't concern me. i.e Class merges etc...

The combat changes might be a concern since it is now set to clickables for feats and active tracking rather than Key-Combos. But then again I can't make an assumption until I try it.

Classes are skill-tree based which is sort of an annoyance but it is my understanding taht things like complex feats that have hidden sequences and spell-weaving make this game much more difficult to master than WoW for example.

Also the open PvP is attractive as well as the fact that they have 8 Raids at start and completed content to lvl 80. So my interest is definitely peaked.

Like mentioned earlier... I like a great deal of the folkes here (and a few not in DDO) who I hope to play with, and considering that Raid Parties can be as big as 125 strong.. this concept can be quite fun.

I'm not sure yet how things ill go over the next 80 days but at this point, I do want to open talks and see who is interested in meeting me there.

Note: I will continue playing here.. Monk, lvl 20 cap etc but I often find that the content in any game inbetween releases so having 2 games going might just be more entertaining:)

Did some beta on AoC its one of the reasons I came back here I finally realilzed that world to explore or no I like this game better then any that are out or are coming out. No you cant have my beta key as I got kicked out for complaining to much to the devs and on the beta and offical fourms. Wont give you any info you cant read on the offical fourms but taking out formations and drunken brawling were the straw the broke the camels back for me.

Wouldn't ask either Uska...

...I'll check it out and if the whole skill tree thing is too similar to EQ then I won't stay longer.. but hey... I'm curious and I will play that too.

What about stargte worlds. That is looking promising, being as I am more of a sci-fi over fantasy person.

I don't know, I'm sitting on the fence right now. Still love the combat system in DDO and this will probably be my main game for the forseeable future, but nothing beats that "New MMO" smell of a new game. Even Vanguard had that new game smell at first, the problem was it turned to rotten fish much too fast.

Hey if you run across a character named Oeuf, shoot me a guild invite. I'll at least give it a try when it comes out in May.

Definitely am watching SG1 Worlds and SWG2 with a close eye. There's also another mmorpg by Bioware that's looking rather interesting, not to mention it's made by Bioware. I'll be in AoC to give it a college try.

Oh yeah.. anything by Bioware has a serious chance of being a great game... I've been waiting for Dragon's Age... well it sorta seems like a Dragon's Age lol...

...I'm also waiting for more data on The Secret World... it has a great premise and if there are Vampires and story lines like Dresden, Buffy, Angel, X-Files and so on.. I'll be in Uber-Nerd Heaven :)
