Example: say i take acid on my first upgrade...then at the subjugation altar i take the steps to get shocking burst upgrade. Can u do this Have 2 elemental effects on a weapon?...Or do u have to stay with the same element to get the burst effect...then the blast effect?

or does it just take the effect from the higher burst or blast effect and overide the lower effect.

The secon upgrade is not affected by nor does it affect the first one. You can take water for a frost weapon and then add flaming burst on the second upgrade. The only thing affected by different elementals is the "bonus" foci effect.

From the information given so far it seems that you can mix and match the damage effects as you please, stacking damage up as you go. Also, if you do plan on doing something that isn't the same element repeated times you might find some unique effects that no one has yet discovered on the third upgrade. Eladrin stated back that the quasiparaelemental (two non-opposite elementals proceeded with an energy) would likely have the most interesting of the effects.

For example, Fire/Earth/Positive would net Flaming, Acid Burst, Good Blast, but it also might give a unique effect for being the quasiparaelement of Obsidian.

so u could get damage from both effects..ie...1d6 from acid...then and additional 1d6 from fire with the chance of a crit on the fire doing more fire damage?

so it seems that it would be stupid not to mix the weapon elements..that way you can get the extra damage from the first element!

The extra damage works even if stay with same elemament.

so an acid then acid burst weapamon would do 1d6 acid damage on hit then anothermer 1d6 acid damage on hit then the burst damage on crit.

"stupid" is a dangerous word to use with so much unknown.

It is my understanding if you went fire/fire you would get 1d6 fire + 1d6 fire + burst fire dmg on crit. Not stupid in that case if you want lots of fire damage.

Eladrin stated back that the quasiparaelemental (two non-opposite elementals proceeded with an energy) would likely have the most interesting of the effects.

Actuamally, Eladrin said that quasiparaelemamentamal was more complimicated than he wanted to get. which means 2 elements AND a pos/neg are probamally NOT going to give anymathing special. should stick to 1 element and 1 of pos/neg or 2 elements and no posimitive or negamative. Unless are looking for one of those 'special' paths like posimitive / negamative, tempered (fire + water), or the othermer ones they made up for DDO.

I'm kind of thinking of building a full set of fire/fire, water/water, earth/earth, air/air and positive/positive khopeshes through the 2nd upgrade (at the expense of actually getting anyone but my fighter through the raid)

My bad...stupid is what i am on these things...which is why I ask u smart people. So 2 elements and a Pos/Neg is bad....probably wont get extra effect!

Ah, Kargon would be right about the quasiparaelemental stuff and I had a nice little memory lapse or memory shuffle (or something else wrong). I found the post (http://forums.ddo.com/showpost.php?p=1570260&postcount=899) Eladrin made stating that.

Good thing cows are not made out of tasty ham, or I might be threated to be eaten for such a thing. :)
