This is by no means a requirement, but would be a nice gesture. The company shows as SecretSide, and the transaction shows as DDO Game Guide Donations. Thanks everyone for the support!

V3.6.0

Additions:

- Cannith Crafting Added. Full functionality is there. Save, Save As, Load, Load at Startup, etc..etc..
- Clicking on the Cannith Crafting image will list out some more general information on the process.
- Alchemical Crafting (Update 11) added.
- Added "The Lord of Blades", and "The Master Artificer" to the raid timer list. You can add the raid to your list, by going into Settings\Options\Auto Raid Timers. If you've matched all of your existing raids, to actual in game raids, the "Add Raids" button at the bottom should be available to click. Do so and both of these raids will be available for selection from the main raid timer screen. You can also add these timers to your timer list by going to Settings\Options\Raid Timer, select the character(s) in the drop down, and click the "Add Timers" button.
- I've added snap shots of all ingredients to the Shroud Crafting output. If this is well received, I'll consider doing it for other crafting sections.
- An option to auto sort raid timers when the timer is up, has been added. On by default.
- The Cannith Manufactury map added.
- Walkthroughs for Master Artificer & Lord of Blades added. The Lord of Blades one is really not that great, and will be tweaked as I get a better strategy down. Master Artificer is tried and true, and will work on Normal Difficulties.
- I've added in a status message for when the auto raid timer is checking my.ddo. You may get intermittent lock ups that should last no longer than a few seconds when its doing that.

Changes:

- Changed how printing worked with Shroud Crafting. Print Preview is totally different, so is printing itself. If this gets good response, I'll update the others to work with it.
- Jungle of Khyber was incorrect in the raid timer listing, it needed to be "The Jungle of Khyber", this has been fixed, you can update all of your timers with the new name in the options under the "Auto Raid Timers" tab by matching it to the other name "Jungle of Khyber".
- Added "Devil Assault" to the raid timer list (it was missing). You can add the quest to your list, by going into Settings\Options\Auto Raid Timers. If you've matched all of your existing raids/quests, to actual in game raids/quests, the "Add Raids" button at the bottom should be available to click. Do so and this quest will be available for selection from the main raid timer screen.
- Robe of Dissonance was removed from the planner by accident, it has been re-added to the epic listing.
- Update the exceptional stacking line in the FAQ to be more clear.
- Renamed what was called Alchemical Crafting, to Collectible Crafting. The new Alchemical Crafting tab you see is now for Update 11.
- Update every outdoor map with TheLallian's updated maps. Thanks for keeping Dorim's stuff alive!! http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=324827
- Added credit to TheLallian for his map work.
- Changed Epic Item Selection to show Augment Colors instead of what the item has on it. If you want to see what it has, just hit create.
- Added Augment colors to the top of the output window for epic crafting.
- Fixed some layout inconsistencies.
- Update the internal updater url in the main shroudcrafting.exe to the new hosting provider.
- Update the internal updater itself to use the new hosting provider.
- I added in a little extra piece of code to make the raid timer more responsive if using the my.ddo auto updater.
- Any errors that pop, explain that you can actually copy the pop up box and how to do it, so you can paste it to me with a bug report.
- Removed alot of old code that was just commented out.
- Removed alot of library references that were no longer needed.

Bug Fixes:

- Large Twisted Shrapnel Summary count incorrect on Tier 3 dual shard combo: Tier1: Fire 10% Absorption, Tier2: Negative - +1 Exc Int, Tier 3: AshII - +2 Exc Int
- Fixed a bug in the auto raid timer that was causing the completion counters to keep increasing every time it checked.
- Bastard Sword green steel recipe's were backwards. The counts for the recipe's that is. This has been fixed.
- Raid Timer Maximum error checking was problematic. Actually, it was non-existent. I've added it in so you can no longer go above the listed maximums, and cause errors.
- The Timer list was changed a while back to allow up to 1000 timers. There was a bug that was not allowing it to go over 200. This has been fixed, and 1000 are now available.
- Fixed a bug that was causing the raid timer to lock up. I wasn't taking into account the dash (-) character with the regular expression that parses my.ddo. This should fix ALL the lock ups now. Updates should take no longer than a minute or two if you have alot of accounts, and less than 30 seconds for a single account.

Webpage Updates:

- Updated the "Are You Raid Ready" page to fix Von2's reference to falling off and failing. You no longer fail when falling off.

V3.5.0

Special Notes:

- This version requires flash for one small piece of it. It doesn't break the game guide if you don't have it installed. The new reaver puzzle practice, won't work without it. Install the plugin for flash to internet explorer, even if you don't use it as your default browser, as that is the back end browser that gets used within the game guide.
- Raid Timer Auto Update has arrived. You can now enable the raid timer to auto update your timers via my.ddo.com. Check the settings out to enable it. It'll be listed under "Settings\Options\Auto Raid Timer". There is a help file under "Help\Raid Timer" that can walk you through all the settings.
- You must set your characters to "Public" in my.ddo in order to use the auto update feature. A tutorial on how to do this is in the "Help\Raid Timer" file.
- The "GET END REWARD" will only work for 2 Days 18 Hours of finishing the raid. The auto timer only grabs that much history, so can't re-flag you as needing the end reward if it doesn't know about it. It will remain Orange and stating GET END REWARD as long as you don't close and open the game guide. It recalculates that particular status each time its opened.

Additions:

- Reaver Puzzle Practice Added. This is under the puzzle tab, and labeled "Reaver Practice" in the drop down.
- Sora Katra aka Lordsmarch Plaza Crafting added. (Thanks to Rasczak For The Addition!!)
- Added boot ingredients to the ingredients tab.
- Added in a check to see if you have internet. It will replace the donate button with text stating "No Internet Connection".
- Tool tips have been added for every item on the Raid Timer Screen.
- You can disable tool tips in the "Settings\Options\General" screen.
- The layout of the Raid Timer screen has been updated.
- New Tutorial on the Raid Timer added. This includes how to use the Auto Raid Timer feature.

Raid Timer Specific Additions:

- You can shut the Auto Raid Timer update on or off in the settings. By default it is off.
- After adding a my.ddo Logon to the Auto Raid Timer, if you hit Apply or Ok, it will check to make sure that Logon exists.
- Time between checks for the Auto Raid Timer are (10, 15, 30, 60) minutes, and selectable in the settings.
- Multi-Account ability with auto raid timers. Please note, the more accounts you have in it, the laggier it will feel when it is checking the timers, once every 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes depending on your setting.
- The Auto Raid Timer will turn itself off if you lose internet connection. It will restart checking when the internet comes back.
- You can match your currently custom raid names, with those from My.DDO, so they will work with the Auto Raid Timer. This is done from "Settings\Options\Auto Raid Timer".
- After you have completed matching your custom raid names to those from my.ddo, a button will become available to add the remaining my.ddo raid/quest names to your selectable list.
- You can now mass add all timers for raids only, for a particular character. This can be done from the "Settings\Options\Raid Timer" menu.
- The Time Left column on the raid timer has had its format adjusted. It will show in text its a RAID, or EPIC, and state TIMER UP, or GET END REWARD.
- The GET END REWARD only works for raids. The status color for this is Orange.
- Added in the ability to backup your raid timers file. Its under "Settings\Options\Auto Raid Timer"
- Added in the ability to restore your raid timer backup files. "Its under Settings\Options\Auto Raid Timer"
- Character names are not case sensitive. The Auto Raid Timer will work as long as the spelling of the character name is correct. Only enter the First Name.
- Update character will ask if you want to update the old name with the existing one if a duplicate is found. This will leave both names in the selectable list. If a duplicate is not found, it will just update the name to the new one. This will update all associated timers if any exist.
- Update Raid/Quest Name for raid timer. This will update all associated timers with this new raid name. This does not handle duplicates like the Character update option. It just won't let you do it.
- Maximum Raid Timers has been increased from 200 to 1000.
- Maximum selectable raids has been increased from 50 to 100.
- You can now multi select in the raid timer. Updating does not work with this, but deleting timers does. You can mass delete timers now. Click on one, then hold the shift key, and click on another to select a range, or hold the control key and select individual ones you want to remove. DO NOT HIT RESTART TIMER or it will auto restart all timers selected. Don't say I didn't warn you.
- Seconds removed from the raid timer. The countdown still includes it, but everywhere else its removed.
- Resized columns in the Raid Timer to better fit the longer names of the actual my.ddo raid/quests.
- Duplicate names are no longer allowed in the raid timer character selections. If there were duplicate before it will remove them.
- Duplicate names are no longer allowed in the raid timer raid selections. If there were duplicate before it will remove them.
- Duplicate raid timers are no longer allowed.
- Blank character/raid timer combo's are no longer allowed to be added to the raid timer list.
- When selecting a raid timer, that has a raid or character that is no longer in your selectable list, it will blank out the respective drop down.
- Moved the raid timer import features to "Settings\Options\Raid Timer".
- I put a warning if you happen to have a RAID TIMER, with an actual my.ddo raid name, then have a custom raid, and a RAID TIMER for that custom raid with the same character as the my.ddo actual raid/timer combo, and then update that custom raid to that my.ddo raid in the settings, you will get a warning that a duplicate will occur. I don't delete anything as one or the other may have the accurate raid completion count, I leave that up to you to decide which one to keep. You may have to read that a few times to understand what I'm saying :)
- On Timer Reset, the timer list will auto sort by time left, and bump to the top of the list. This only works for Auto Raid Timers. This is a selectable option under "Settings\Options\Auto Raid Timer".
- my.ddo quests that are epic only for raid timer purposes, when you select one of those quests while adding a character, it will auto flag it as epic. You can manually unflag it still, but really there is no reason to do that. I'm leaving it in there for those that can't use my.ddo, so they can flag their custom quest names as epic if they so choose.
- Force my.ddo button is now available on the main raid timer screen. It will do exactly that, skip your auto update setting and attempt to update.
- Added in a time zone button to the raid timer. This is for informational purposes only, and can help me debug issues later if you happen to have them.

Changes:

- You can now disable all the main crafting tab, which will remove itself and everything underneath it.
- Updated Reaver Puzzle Solver to include Update 8 Colors, and Number Scheme.
- Definitive Loot List Revamped. Loads 10x faster, and has more content within. Thanks JJFlanigan for letting me use a modified version of the thread view output.
- The Donate Button would have a red X in it if you didn't have an internet connection. It will no longer do this.
- Changed the Donate button to an image that can be clicked as a link, and not just a web page. This makes the look of it more consistent between OS Versions.
- Reworked how I stored ingredient information. Array's are now dynamic and it allows you to modify your ingredient files. Future updates will possibly have extra programs available so you can modify it from the planner itself. If you do decide to modify them, please be aware that first column in the file is extremely important. You must keep the numbering convention the same, and not duplicate a number. That column is what is referenced for your save files, so if you modify it incorrectly, what loads from the save file may not be correct. Also, I'm not checking to see if you did change your ingredient files, so the next version will overwrite them and could render your save files useless. I haven't figured a way yet to check if you did change your files, I've looked into it, and so far, its not going to be easy. Note, this is not the case for certain things, like your raid timers, item tracker, and quest listings, those are still all static array's, and they cannot be modified.
- "Settings\Options" screen completely revamped.
- Updated epic general output to no longer state a 3 to 1 trade in ratio for dungeon to raid tokens. Its 1 for 1.
- Disabling the wiki/compendium/loot tabs no longer gives a performance boost. It will always load as fast as it can now even with them enabled. I've changed how the wiki/compendium/loot pages load. It will be on the click of the tab when it initially loads. Note, you'll get a little lag when initially clicking these tabs, but that's just the time it takes to load the page.
- Changed the default for Wiki and Compendium to enabled on a new install.
- Checking off "Always On Top" in the options does it now at runtime and no longer requires a restart of the program.
- Enabling or Disabling tabs in the options does it now at runtime, and no longer requires a restart of the program.
- Enabling or Disabling the main raid timer countdown no longer requires a program restart.
- All lag between loading the Mini Puzzle solver, then closing it, has been fixed.
- Updated the epic ingredient file to include everything to date (Update 8). (Thanks to Rasczak For The Updates!!)
- Updated Epic output to state Dungeon Tokens and Raid Tokens are BTA, and not BTC.
- Add the version number to the end of the quests backup file, so they'll keep a history with every release of the previous versions quests.
- Moved all quest backup files to the Data\Backup folder.

Bug Fixes:

- Greensteel Short Sword ingredient needs to formula were reversed. Ingredient totals listed for formula 1, were for formula 2, and vice versa. The formulas were still correct. Thanks Simon for the catch!
- Greensteel Necklace ingredient needs to formula were not correct. The formula was correct, but the Gather These Materials was not.
- Balloon pop up's and beeps were broken when it was updated to handle epic quests. All fixed.
- If you noticed, the program would remember your window location, but do a jump before heading to it. That's been fixed, it'll load exactly where you had it last.
- All time completions will no longer allow things other than numbers in it.
- If you had nothing in your ItemChar.txt file, it would show the used count as -1 for characters, there should be a (.) by default in the file.

WebPage Updates:

- Dragon Crafting with eldritch/sovereign rune types and what they mean etc. Layout updated and spelling errors taken care of. (Thanks Crimsonrellik!!)
- Alchemical Crafting page. Spell checks and layout updated.(Thanks Crimsonrellik!!)
- Dreamforge crafting page layout updated and spelling errors taken care of. (Thanks Crimsonrellik!!)
- Updated Dreamforge Crafting page to reflect the binding status of those craftable weapons.
- The layout for the Loot tab has been adjusted to use the same fonts as the Dragon Crafting, Alchemical Crafting, etc. I re-wrote the program that creates this to add in the new font.
- Samius sent me an explanation on how to do the reaver puzzle manually. I'm going to add this to the bottom of the reaver puzzle solver, and the bottom of the reaver puzzle practice.

V3.4.0

Additions:

Item Tracker Revamped! Where to start. This was nearly a full re-write of the item tracker. I'll list key notes:

- Drop downs are now present for character name and classification type. These drop downs will be auto populated with whatever is in your current item save file.
- You can now add/remove characters/types from those drop downs. Please note, if you remove one, and it is still part of one of your items in the list, it will be re-added it to the drop down the next time you load the game guide.
- You can now color code the text based on type/classification.
- Updating a types text and or color, will update all of the items in the list associated with it.
- You can multi-select items in the list using CTRL and mouse clicking individual ones, or using the SHIFT key and left mouse clicking a top/bottom item to pick everything in between those selections.
- Utilizing multi-select, you can delete all selections you have made.
- Utilizing multi-select, you can mass update multiple items at once.
- Small tip, if you want to blank a bunch of the same field out when multi-selecting, just put a space in the field you want to blank. This doesn't work for the character/type drop downs, only the text boxes.
- I've made the default character (its a required field), a "." If you just add an item without a character, that "." will be added to the character field. You will never be able to remove the "." default character from the character drop down list. It does not count towards the maximum limits set in place.
- There is now a counter to show how many items you have currently used.
- The Item tracker will no longer crash if you hit your maximum limit, you will now get appropriate warnings.
- When adding new items, it will leave all fields populated with previous data, except for the description, that will blank itself out (I've been using this, it makes adding things very fast).
- When adding new items, mouse clicking, or tabing into the min level or quantity fields will auto select what is in it (makes it easier to add things rapidly, no backspace required, just tab into and type)
- Hitting the enter key in any of the "Item Add" text boxes (Description, Min Levl, Quantity) for an item, will add the item to the list, then move the cursor to the "Description" text box..
- Hitting the enter key in the "Character" text field will add the character to the drop down list.
- Hitting the enter key in the "Type" text field will add the type to the drop down list.
- Ability to export to a formated code output for UBB forums. This will line it all up provided the code tag does that on your forum.
- Very basic duplicate report. Can be found under a new menu "View\Reports\Matching Report". This is a special report, and doesn't just find duplicates as explained below: (I'm not sure how many people will use this, but I will be so I added it)
- This will find duplicate descriptions, that have different types. This is good for epic item matching. If you have a shard of X, and a Seal of X, the report will show that you have them. If you only have a single item, say Shard of Y, it will not show it in the report. This makes finding things easy when you are in an epic run, and are not sure if you are close to being able to craft a particular epic item.
- This will color code the report based on what color scheme you set the items at.

The below is all in no small part to CuriousGIS! He sent me an updated zip with all of this stuff to get added in. Thanks CuriousGIS!
- Threnal Outdoor Map Added
- TOD Raid Walkthrough Added

- Adjusted the columns on the raid timer to fit better at the default min size of the program window.
- Adjusted the text on the Quest tab to fit better at the default min size of the program window.
- Epic Dungeon/Raid tokens were labeled as BTC..they are indeed BTA now, and the planner has been updated accordingly.
- The True Ressurection you used to be able to get on Green Steel Shroud Crafting changed to Raise Dead quite some time ago. The planner has been updated accordingly.
- The date sorting wasn't always sorting properly on the Raid Timer. It should be doing so now.
- You can now track Epic Fragments on the ingredients tab.
- Tab order slightly adjusted on the Raid Timer tab. (More tab order adjustments to come in future updates)
- I've updated the "Release Notes" for the game guide. Its now a more easily legible web pages.

Bug Fixes:

- Quest count on the quest tab was not being cleared properly and at times showed an inaccurate count of the number of quests you had in the game guide.

******************************************
V3.3.0

Additions:

- You can now add your own quests to the quest listing section of the planner. Details can be found on the quests tab.
- Raid Timer Update!
- IMPORTANT NOTE: You must import your old timer save file before you can use this. Your timers will not show up initially until you do.
- You can now flag a timer as epic, which will set the timer to 16 hours instead of 2 days 18 hours. This will change the color to purple for epic quest timers, and it will remain red for raid timers.
- I've added in the ability to track completions for the individual character, and all time for that character. The reason for this is if you TR a character, their completion counts get reset, you can now track how many you have done for all time over the life of the character.
- The Raid Timer now keeps track of how many timers you have, characters you have, and quest/raids you have in it.
- Maps, FAQ, Puzzles, Quests, Raids, Raid Timers, Item Tracker, Dream Forge Crafting, Dragon Crafting, Alchemical Crafting tabs all now have the option of being disabled.
- Red Fens Outdoor Map Added
- Sunken Parish Puzzle Added, Mini Mode Included

Changes:

- Updated all of the config files for epic crafted items discovered in game as of 8/26/2010
- Added in a way to sort by type in epic crafting. Looking for a weapon...select weapon and the drop down will only list weapons... Looking for a weapon that drops in dq...you guessed it, make the selections and the items will only show weapons from dq...
- Sentinels Output Modified in Epic Crafting
- Epic Crafting Output General Information Moved, and Updated.
- Changed "The Tide Turns" to "Sentinels" under Epic Crafting.
- Changed the item number sequence in the Epic Data file. This just makes sorting a million times easier. Your old files should still work, saving them again will move to the new format.
- Settings.txt file. I had been overwriting yours all along, with every update. That will no longer have to occur, and it will remember all previous settings you had.

Bug Fixes:

- The window resize bug is officially fixed and will no longer occur.
- I inadvertently broke the item tracker last go around. Your data files should be safe. This version will load them all again.

WebPage Updates:

- Updated DFL Listing to current as of 8/26/2010
- TITAN Walk through: Updated it to no loner reference swimming through the lava. It now explains how to use the fence line to get over to the switch.
- Shroud Part I, II: Updated to more of today's (relative) standard of running.

******************************************
V3.2.1

SPECIAL NOTE:

- Whenever loading web pages via a webform, depending in what the page is doing, it can eat alot of memory. That's just the way it is. I've added the option to remove the DDO Wiki (External Page), DDO Compendium (External Page), and Definitive Loot Thread (Internal) from the planner. A reload is required if you choose these options. I noticed a 50% reduction in memory usage by disabling these. I'm not telling you to do this, just giving you the option. The removal of those tabs will also increase the load times of the program drastically. It will almost appear instantly after the options are loaded. This also increases the load time when you switch from mini puzzle mode, back to the planner. That would lag the first time only, it should now be quick every time if you have all three of the tabs I stated above turned off.

Additions:

- Ability to remove DDO Wiki, DDO Compendium, & Loot tabs from the planner. This is located under options and requires a program restart. In the future I will expand this to all tabs, so you can pick and choose what you want in the planner.

Changes:

- Added in all current epic formulas as of 4/8/2010.
- Fixed some spelling errors on the Game Guide GUI.
- Fixed some spelling errors on the Updater GUI.
- Fixed some of the output on Epic Crafting, namely they are Dungeon Tokens, not Quest Tokens.
- The Definitive Loot Tab will always load an internal version now, it no longer checks the web.

Bug Fixes:

- Updated all web page based tabs to no longer show scripting errors. I hope this stops all of the scripting errors you may have been receiving when running the guide.
- Fixed a problem in the tier 1 data file causing some formula errors.
- Fix for those experiencing the planner not showing on run, and having to delete the WindowSize.txt file before running to fix. This "SHOULD" no longer happen ;) If it does the code gets ripped out next version. You should no longer get the hitch on running the app, or entering the crafting tabs any more.

WebPage Updates:

- Alchemical Crafting: Added in minimum level information.
- Reaver Puzzle: Changed the colors that are shown.
- Raid Ready: Updated Litany puzzle to the new table format from the puzzle page.
- Definitive Loot Page: Updated as of 4/7/2010

******************************************
V3.2.0

Additions:

- Epic Crafting makes its way to the Interactive DDO Game Guide. Most of the known recipe's as of 2/7/2010 are in the planner. It works slightly different than Shroud/Ring crafting. The Raid Drop down is not required, its there so you can limit down the item drop down to items for the selected raid only. You can select an item right away though if you like without touching the raid drop down at all. Full functionality is there for ya, so enjoy!!
- Dreamforge Crafting is here. This is more along the lines of Dragon/Alchemical crafting, in that its a page that describes the whole process.
- DDO Wiki graces the pixels of the Interactive DDO Game Guide! Borror & Company has done an outstanding job getting the community involved in gathering a repository of information on everything DDO. Thanks Guys/Gals, this site is a life saver.
- Load last Epic Formula added to the options list. On by default.
- Track Epic Tokens on Ingredients Tab
- Credit Page Update, DDO Wiki & Loot Thread added.
- Litany Puzzle. I've added the Answers to the Litany of The Dead quest into the Puzzle Tab. There is a corresponding MINI Mode version too.
- Against The Demon Queen Puzzle/Riddle. I've added the guaranteed order for all possible solutions to the book puzzle in Against The Demon Queen. There is a corresponding MINI Mode version too.

Changes:

- Remember the size/position you had the game guide at last on close/re-open.
- I've modified how the look of Super Shards appear for Shroud Crafting. Previously it would list the Super Shards as FOCUS/ASPECT, IE Earth/Mineral. It will now just utilize the ASPECT II only, IE Mineral II. I had to add an extra character to the beginning of the sorting sections so the sorts would work properly. I hope this clears up some of the confusion I had been seeing on the forums regarding the planner creating Dual Shard recipe's.
- Definitive Loot Tab is now loading from my web server. If the server is down, it will load a local copy of it. This give me the ability to update the page on the fly, and allow all of you to get the updates immediately. (Thanks Crimson for the idea!)
- Added in a confirmation that the save was successful for saving items on exit.
- Moved all crafting tabs under a single crafting tab.
- Change text on save/load formula to save/load shroud formula. Also changed this on the menu drop down.

Bug Fixes:

- Blast Effects on Tier 3 were listing the wrong damage numbers/information. This has been corrected. (Thanks Noctus)
- Sorting via essence/gem under certain circumstances was populating the drop downs when they shouldn't have been. I went back in time and tried to find where this first crept in. Its been there since day 1, can't believe I never saw it before. Its fixed now.
- Opposition on the ingredients tab for tier 1/2/3 was not working with validation and would allow you to leave the field blank.

WebPage Updates:

- Loot List Updated to 1/7/2010
- Added Reavers Refuge Flagging to the "Are Your Raid Ready?" page.

******************************************
V3.1.0

SPECIAL NOTE:

- The Interactive DDO Game Guide is now being compiled under Visual Studio 2008. I will try to make sure I don't use any of the new .NET 3.5 SP1 formulas in it so it will remain V2.0 compatible.

Additions:

- Ring Crafting makes its way to the Interactive DDO Game Guide! All functionality from the Shroud Crafting is in effect for this.
- Added the ability to track Shavarath War Trophies on the Ingredients tab.
- Added the option to load the last ring formula file you had in the planner. This is under Settings\Options.
- Mini Puzzle Mode. On the puzzle tab, a new button is present, this will bring you to the miniature version of the puzzles, closing down the main planner. You can change the opacity with the right drop down, and the puzzle with the left. It will always remain on top so you can view it while in windowed mode in game.
- Definitive Static Rewards & Unique Loot has been added to the planner. A new tab with the name of "Loot" is where you will find it. Please note I did not include the images in the planner. The links on the page grab the images from Dragon.Stars photobucket page, and loads them inline right in the page.
- Ignore Limits option. The Omit Output check boxes now also allow you to ignore the Limit Drop down option so all items appear in the drop down, and not based on ingredient. You must check the boxes for omit/ignore limit off first, then check off the limit drop downs based on ingredients for them to work.
- The following outdoor maps have been added: Eerie Forest, Devil Battlefield, Restless Isles, Subterrane Central, Subterrane East.

Changes:

- To further prevent confusion on my part, and yours, on overwriting your saved files (this gets worse with windows 7 options), I've set the program to automatically create those folders if they are not found. What this allows me to do is completely leave them out of the planner updates, either full version, or update version.
- Updated Dragon Crafting with the latest information.
- Vale of Twilight map had the Vale spelling incorrect.

Bug Fixes:

- Water, Escalation, Material Tier 2 Greensteel crafting was listing wisdom as Insight, it has been corrected to be Exceptional Bonus.
- I had some test code left in the limit drop down based on ingredients. Sometimes it was using the non raw materials and affecting what you saw in the drop downs.
- The Compendium tab menus were not updating properly.

******************************************
V3.0.0

SPECIAL NOTE:

- MAJOR OVERHAUL TO SAVE FORMULA FILES. This is in preparation for more items being added later. Please please please, everyone open your formula save files at least 1 time, it will auto convert them to the new format I'm using. This needs to happen before MOD9, once MOD9 hits, and the new rings are added for monks, your old save files will no longer be valid unless you open them at least 1 time prior to that crafting planner update.
- The crafting planner is now compiled for 32 bit systems. 64 Bit systems can and will still run it. I did this to resolve a bug in 64 bit systems.

Additions:

- There is a new check box on the Shroud Crafting tab that will limit what the drop downs have in it, based on your RAW ingredients (left side of the ingredients tab). The drop downs will only show what you can make if this is checked off. This is the first phase of this function. I need everyone to play with this, and let me know how it works for you. I can't explain everything it does here, you'll just have to try it (there is alot behind it). Any suggestions on general functionality would be greatly appreciated.
- There is a new Quest tab with quest walkthroughs ranging from Level 10 - 17 added. (More will come in future updates)
- The Dragon, DQ, Titan have all gotten their respective walkthroughs created.
- You now have the option to load the last loaded/saved formula/ingredients at program startup.
- There is a new option under settings, to enable or disable the loading of formulas/ingredients at startup (On By Default).
- Added in a straight Save feature for Formulas & Ingredients.
- Added "How Do I Use A Cleansing Stone" to the FAQ.
- Added Korthos Island map.
- The program will now prompt you to save your formula's if you haven't done so when exiting the planner. I may or may not add this to when you load a formula in a future update.

Changes:

- The title of the crafting planner has changed to "Interactive DDO Game Guide". This better reflects how the program has evolved since its inception.
- WALKTHROUGH'S TAB...It has been renamed to RAIDS. I've added the QUEST tab also. I wanted these in separate areas for quick reference.
- Changed the old Save feature, to Save As...
- Changed the save dialog for the ingredient page. When ingredients change before loading a new ingredient file, or closing the program, it will now just ask for confirmation on saving the file, yes saves, no does not.
- The Shroud Crafting tab will now have a "- filename" after it, so you can see what formula you have currently loaded.
- Removed the "name" I was putting in front of the greensteel item name, in the formula output, when you compared to ingredients.
- The reset button now fully resets all dialogs on the shroud crafting page, along with resetting the memory of what file you had loaded (Acts like NEW on most programs).
- Menu item "clear" has been renamed to "reset" for the Shroud Crafting, and Ingredient tabs. Hitting this menu item will reset everything off their respective pages, and clears its "memory" on which file you had loaded/saved last.
- Changed the Greensteel Drop down to a different type of drop down (so I could clear it). There was a reason I had made it the way it was originally, and I am pretty certain I fixed why I couldn't make it like the others.
- Added full damage dice, crit range, and crit multiplier to the drop down for green steel weapons.
- When restoring from the task bar, it will now properly remember the last state you were in, normal/maximized/custom.
- Updated the Credit Tab with appropriate information.
- When selecting a sort order on the Shroud Crafting tab, it would not take effect until you opened the drop down and selected something. So after having a complete formula done, then changing the sort order, then saving, it would not remember the last sort order selected, it will now.
- MTGCCombobox.dll file has been re-compiled and updated to allow me to store more information within it.
- I changed the message boxes for the saving on exit, and saving before loading a new ingredient file, they now have the appropriate icon, question mark, exclamation, etc.
- Added non-puzzle solver version of the light puzzle to the shroud part 3 walkthrough.

Bug Fixes:

- Fixed Tempered/BoLaS names, they were backwards in the formula listing. Output is the same though, this was a visual bug only.
- Last selected font for Item tracking was not loading on startup.
- Contact us page had blank text on certain Vista configurations.
- Clicking on the Email links in the program should no longer throw an exception error on Windows 7, it will now warn you, and let you know you need to install an email client to use the function.
- Moving the crafting planner to a different location, will no longer cause an exception error on startup. This revolved around the map selection.
- Superior Regeneration in the formula listing has been changed to Greater Regeneration.
- 64 Bit systems, that had the flash.ocx error on closing the program, are now fixed, you should no longer get the error.
- Occasionally, if you loaded the crafting planner, then switched to another program while it was loading, it would not show up in the task bar right away. This should no longer happen.
- If you loaded an ingredient file, then changed ingredient numbers, then went to load a new file, said no to the save, then changed your mind and canceled the load, the original ingredients file was re-loading. It will no longer do this.

WebPage Updates:

Alchemical Crafting
Dragon Crafting
Raid Ready Table
Raid Ready Page
Titan Green Puzzle
Shroud Part 3 Walkthrough
FAQ

******************************************
V2.6.1

Additions:

- DDO's Compendium comes to the crafting planner. A new tab has been added, if the system you run it on has Internet connectivity, it will connect to the Compendium.
- You can now change the font on the Item Tracking tab.
- Raid Flagging Check List (printable sheet) added to the Walkthroughs tab. Credit for the sheet is givin on it.

Changes:

- Clarified the Formula Output section under options, it was a little vague on where the item locations would go. Its in the Greensteel Formula output itself.
- The size of the drop down boxes for the three tiers, was all over the place. I've set tier 1 & 2 to be the same, with tier 3 a bit larger, so it all fits the text better.
- Tier 3 bonus recipe descriptions have been updated. I just streamlined some of the text so it would fit better in the drop downs.

Bug Fixes:

- Formula errors!! Unreal, after all this time it wasn't caught. Air,Fire,Earth,Water/Dominion/Material was listing as Lore %, it is actually a Guard, this has been fixed.
- Item Tracking issue on loading. This was a graphical bug only on the load screen, sometimes the checkbox would get "stuck" on items.
- The Credit page was getting cut off.

NOTES:

Question of the day: Does the crafting planner handle super shards (dual tier 3)?

Answer: YES!! Try going Earth/Positive for the first 2 tiers. The third will be listed as Earth/Mineral. That is the dual shard tier 3 recipe. This has been in the planner since version 2.0.0

******************************************
V2.6.0

Additions:

- Maps!! Outdoor maps are now a part of the planner. I must give credit to Dorim & Axtorus for the wonderful map work. (Left mouse click fits the map, right mouse click gives you more zoom options)
- Walkthrough - Vision of Destruction
- Walkthrough - Hound of Xoriat
- Walkthrough - Raid Readiness Table
- Walkthrough - Are Your Raid Ready?
- Puzzle Solver - Titan Green Room

Changes:

- Updated the Alchemical Crafting page to have a little bit more information on the process.
- Removed the menu bars for Walkthrough's & Puzzles solvers, I'm sticking with the drop downs on the respective tabs, it just feels more "right"
- Updated the FAQ with some more "Stacking" information, along with information on multiple GS item/weapon equipping.
- HUGE Updater improvement, well in my mind. If for whatever reason the updater fails in updating, it will now change the button name to "Try Again", at which point you can do just that, and will attempt to pick up where it left off, and not try to re-download the whole thing again.
- More updater changes, if you choose not to Try Again on a failed download, it will no longer attempt to run the Crafting Planner when you exit the program.
- Updated the RaidTimer help file. On top of the extra information on fonts options, it will now fit on a 1024x768 monitor and higher.

Bug Fixes:

NONE - (Can you believe it?)

******************************************
V2.5.1

Additions:

- I had a few ?'s on the topic of "Where did the puzzles go!!!!" So, I've left the menus in on the top, but also added a drop down above the puzzle/walkthrough that you can select from. Both places do the same thing.

Changes:

- When you make any selection on the main crafting planner, from the drop downs, it now clears the formula, forcing you to hit create again.
- Fixed Monastery spelling error. I forget who reported that but :P

Bug Fixes:

- Re-Up'd the amount of Raid Timers you can have in the program. I reduced it not thinking people may have already gone above what I reduced it to. Its fixed now and I've doubled what it previously was.
NOTE 1 - Max Characters = 50
- Max Raids = 50
- Max Timers = 200
NOTE 2 - Previously if you hit the max timers limit, or were way above it, the error message would keep popping up. I've set it so it only pops 1 time, then continues to load.
- If for whatever reason, you deleted your Char.txt, Raid.txt, or Timers.txt, the system when loading would look funky, and not re-create these file (they got created the first time you added an item to them previously). They are not created at load time if they are not present.

******************************************
V2.5.0

Additions:

- Added font changing capability for the raid timer, its under Settings\Options (It will be saved for every time you load the program)
- Added EightyFour to the Credit Window
- Added a few special days to the planner, just some new fun images on certain days...
- Added an Item Tracking tab. Ever wonder which of your characters had what item on it? Look no further, fill in your item database and at a glance you can tell who has what. Depending on the feedback I get from this, it will determine if I go further with it as far as functionality. Right now it is very basic and you have to enter everything by typing. There is currently a 2000 Item limit.

Changes:

- Somehow some text got misplaced on the raid timer tab, I've moved it to the correct spot.
- The size of the window for the Shroud Recipe output was a little bit to big, I've shrunk it so the slide bar for up/down isn't cut off.
- Turned off multi select in the raid timer
- When selecting a row in the Raid Timer, the entire row is now Highlighted.
- Changed Reaver Solver background color to match those of the rest of the web pages.
- Moved all walkthroughs under a single tab. You can switch between them on the main menu entitled "Walkthroughs"
- Moved all puzzle solvers under a single tab. You can switch between them on the main menu entitled "Puzzles"
- The program will save the last "Walkthrough" or "Puzzle" you were visiting, so the next time you load it, it will remember.
- Loading screen no longer uses a progress bar, I've changed it to the check boxes Ron uses in his Character Planner (Thanks Ron!)
- Updated the FAQ focus table, hopefully it is a little easier to read.
- FINALLY, I added the part V map to the shroud walkthrough ;)

Bug Fixes:

- If the Temp directory was deleted for whatever reason, the program would crash when you attempted to print a GreenSteel formula. This should no longer happen as the directory will be checked for and created if it does not exist.
- Fixed the links in the Dragontouched crafting to open new browser windows and not from within the program itself.
- If maximized, changing to any other tab than the "Shroud Crafting" tab, then change back to "Shroud Crafting" tab, then restore the program window, the size gets all messed up. Fixed
- When maximizing the program from the shroud crafting tab, the items on the top of the page all got pushed to the left. Its fixed to center again.
- Attempted yet another fix on the Internal Updater. Hoping this reduces even more of the timeout issues.

- Added in Dragon Touched Crafting
- Added in Alchemical Crafting

- Removed the "Notes" Tab. It is now under Help\Release Notes

Fixes:

Fixes:

- Menu bars, Shroud4, Shroud5, Reaver, the functions behind them were not working properly, they will now perform their correct functions.
- ShroudUpdate.exe will now properly look for the Update.txt file, and not the Update.ini file.
- ShroudUpdate.exe was timing out occasionally, I've tried to increase the timeout while downloading to prevent this.

Some notes on this:
If you have a manufactured ingredient listed in your tracking, it will update the raw totals that were needed to make that manufactured ingredient. So, Say you had a Filament of Toil, and a Husk was used to create it, the husk needed count will be reduced by one, even if you don't have a husk on you.

selection of Bracers, Greater Eletrical Resistance, +15 hp (air)

Resutls in only showing how to create bracers (both versions) and tier one crafting.

Tier 2 instructions are not displayed.

comment: I like the fact you did color code things. Perhapes not the colors I would have chosen (to each their own) but I like the fact you did.

I'm up for suggestions on colors, I've just thrown some in to make it easier reading, changing them is a quick thing. I could make it an optional too, so you could change them yourself if ya like. Not a priority atm though.

Tier2 stuff, the drop down is populating, but I haven't finished the output yet. Formating that takes a while. I was working on it for 4 hours last night just to fix the greensteel bug, the selection of tier1 bug, and get the output of tier1 finished. Next update will include tier2 output, and the drop down for tier3 being populated. Output for tier3 will come in the one after that.

Thanks for the comments :)

ideally, let the user select a color. There will be far far to many comments of what colors are proffered. Hence why I said to each their own. :)

Nice work. One suggestion, it would be great if you could see the whole list of options for any given selection rather than having to scroll through them. You could provide both abilities by just adding a button next to the dropdown which pops up a dialog with a datagrid showing the choices - this could also be set to allow the user to sort by column so they could compare all Positive options for example.

are you thinking a whole list and radio button selection? then at the bottom have a "continue" or "show me how to make" buttons? Sort of M.S. Wizard style?

New Version Up. Release notes can be found here:

http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?p=1580491#post1580491

I've added in the ability to sort the drop down boxes by Focus, Gem, or Essence.

The DataGrid would be a bit troublesome without a defined datasource. I could create my own datasource table from scratch, but I'm not sure I want to do that :) I'll look into it further, if it isn't to time consuming I'll add it it.

Hope stretching the drop down, and allowing you to sort on it helps.

LoL, I didn't even use an xml interface, just a strait tab delimeted file, was easier for this application.

I should really read what the upgrades are showing. I haven't checked this out yet but will shortly, I just walked in the door. I may have the variable set to the tier1 dataset... I banish you copy and paste...

It's looking really good. I have a couple of more suggestions for functional enhancements:

1) it would be nice if the window was resizeable vertically with the instruction display stretching

2) it would be nice to have a Save to File option to store the instructions

3) it would be nice to have a Copy Instructions to Clipboard option (or at least a Select All) for manual pasting into a file

1) I'll look into it. I'm from the C/C++/VB6 era of programming, then resizing wasn't fun, for me at least, repainting windows and what not. I'll see if .net has made it any easier.

2) Definetly in the works.

3) Definetly in the works.

Extras which may be possibilities:

A) Adding in a new tab so you can enter all the current ingredients you have. Allowing you to either save that, or just auto save it and load each time you run it, not sure which way I'd do it.

B) Load ability, after saving an item in option 2 above, give the ability to load it back up into the planner.

C) Have a tab, that looks at the inventory you've entered, what's required of an item you have loaded or just created, and let you know what's left to collect.

D) Have a tab, that looks at the inventory you've entered, and will populate a drop down of tier 1, 2, 3 selections on what you can make with what you've entered. (This one would be the hardest to do at first glance)

Thanks for the suggestions Rich, always like to hear what others think will make it that much easier to use :)

It'd be nice to have this per-character.

B) Load ability, after saving an item in option 2 above, give the ability to load it back up into the planner.
And keep this separate, so we can see if a characters ingrediant inventory matches what's needed.

The per character thing shouldn't be to hard. I'd have to set it statically, how many sets there were. I'll start with one, once its working, replicate it a few times for more characters. The drop down, I'd have to set some kind of radio button to choose which character you want to see what can be produced with said items.

All great ideas!! I'll see what I can cook up over the next few days.

One way to represent the heirarchy of items needed to create an object would be a tree with the finished object being created as the root and each of its steps & ingredients being a child node, etc.. I've been representing this in an Excel spreadsheet for my own tracking of what I have vs. what I need. I color-code the items to indicate if I have them or need them (or have already used them to make the parent ingredient).

Sanadil
02-29-2008, 03:57 PM
My initial thought was to update the create button to just update totals to represent just what's left that's needed. Just have the one tab for "Items I Have", then update accoringly for every item you choose to create. I'd have to do some color coding for the actual craft recipe, one color for have's, one color for have not's. I'd have to update the totals to represent 0, if you create a Material Ingredient from a Raw Ingredient. Maybe change it from a number, to say "Complete".

I've been busy this week so haven't been able to work on it. From live feedback in game, there's a few more things I'll be adding to the general output to make it even easier to follow. A few things are mislabelled, not program breaking at all, just want to get it more in line with what's actually in the game. The tracking thing too, I think that's my next big push, I used it myself for the first time this weekend, and trying to track what I had and didn't, I had to print it off, and write on the paper. That was a bit cumbersome. Soooo, updates to text and tracking is coming next.

With the findings for the new Tier 3 "Special" upgrades, the backend of the program for Tier 3 will need to change quite a bit. I'm going to wait a little while for more findings to come in before I start changing that section up. Its still correct for base bonuses, if you don't create a supreme shard from two other supreme shards.

I've been working on the resizing of the window, which I'm happy to report is working just fine. Everything will adjust nicely when you maximize the window now.

I've got base tracking of ingredients started. I'll keep on that for now until we learn more about the Tier 3 upgrades.

Thinking out loud for my own reference:

Tier 3 currently:

(Tier 1 Focus) + (Tier 2 Focus) + (Tier 3 Focus + Gem + Essence) = Base Item Stats For Tier 3 + Bonus

Tier 3 will have to add something like:

(Tier 1 Focus) + (Tier 2 Focus) + ((Tier 1 Focus Type + Gem + Essence) + (Tier 2 Focus Type + Gem + Essence)) = Base Item Stats For Tier 3 + Bonus

Keep All Straight Focus Types: Example (Fire + Fire + Fire, Earth + Earth + Earth)

Remove All CURRENT Mixed Focus Types: Example (Fire + Earth + Earth)

Add New Mixed Focus Types: Example (Posotive + Earth + (Posotive + Earth))

Assuming Previous Gem + Essence Combos do not effect the Tier 3 Gem + Essence combo.

Assuming Gem + Essence Combo's at Tier 3 when combining two shards, must be the same. Still do not know how this will effect the Base Item Stats you'll get. The assumption for now is it will add both that you would get from the single focus/gem/essence combo.

Interesting. Couple of questions:

Can you send me your ingredients file to ddocrafting@gmail.com (mailto:ddocrafting@gmail.com)?

What OS are you running?
What Service Pack is it at?
What version of .NET do you have installed? (You may need a third party program to determine this, suggestions: http://www.tmgdevelopment.co.uk/versioncheck.htm Page for the download, and the direct link to download: http://www.tmgdevelopment.co.uk/versioncheck.zip
What version of the planner are you using?
Were there any blanks in the ingredients before you went to load your file?
Did you try to manually edit the file yourself then load it?

My version of .net that I have installed on the PC I'm developing is (I used the above utility I mentioned), the bolded portion is the important line:

VersionCheck results for *****:

Installed .NET Runtime(s)
OK.
Current version: The following runtimes are installed:
1.1.4322.2407 Version 1.1 Post-SP1 with KB928366 Apr 2007
2.0.50727.832 Version 2.0 RTM with Hotfix Jun 2007
3.0.4506.30 Version 3.0 RTM (RTM 4506.30) Nov 2006

One other thing, you could try to repair your .net install. Go to microsoft's site here: .Net 2.0 Install (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0856EACB-4362-4B0D-8EDD-AAB15C5E04F5&displaylang=en) download, run, and choose the repair option.

So being that I'm coming close to finishing up this next round of changes, is there anything you guy's and gal's would like to see added to the program?

One thing that would be nice would be to have a check box to tell it when we have completed a previous phase or not. So if I run it and have the green steel blank and a tier 1 update done on it, I could just "check" those off and when a user clicks on "create", it leaves off the already completed parts.

Another feature that might be nice(and this is asking a lot, so I don't expect you to do it) would be to have a pull-down for just the special effects, and have that become a filter on the other selections available. So if you want the effect "Lightning Storm Guard", you can see that effect on the list, and it would limit the other categories to steer us into getting that effect. Lightning Storm Guard is a tier 3 bonus effect that is on equipment only(so the user can't pick any of the weapons), and is a para-elemental Lightning Aspect(Air-Positive). Since the quasi/para-elemental and Balanced aspects fall under the combined imbued shard benefits, it would be easier from a user perspective to pick these effects first, and then limit the choices for green steel blanks and the tier 1-3 additions around that desired bonus feature.

Thank you for the great tool, as a long-time player, I really appreciate your work on this program.

Sanadil
04-14-2008, 09:37 AM
Great ideas for sure. I kind of got distracted recently. I haven't completed the compare for tier 3 super shard yet, haven't even started work on it. I started adding in menu bars, changing fonts on output so it lines up better, changing text so it better fits whats in the actual game (IE - Fungi should list as Bitterscrub Fungus). I've added in the beginnings of a walkthrough for the entire shroud, all my opinion on how to run it of course, there are always more than one way. I've added in the lights puzzle solver. A new FAQ which I'll be updating with questions that come accross the Crafting Discussion forums. New print features for the walkthroughs, I'm changing the print function for the main output of the formula, I'll be converting the rich text box into an HTML file (in the backgroud), so it should now have the ability to do a print preview, and give the ability to adjust margins, and print in color if you so desire. I've added in a Contact Us, and About menu too.

Now, for the check boxes, that shouldn't be to hard at all, I've freed(sp?) up alot of room on the main page, got rid of all the buttons with the exception of the create button, and moved it all into the file menu's. I can add a check box next to each drop down to omit that output.

To get this program working more like YACP's web page, it looks like I'd need to fully rethink how I'm populating the drop downs. I like the way he does it, for sure, its pretty clean. Mine is functional, but user friendly wise, there is alot of info to digest. Right now each drop down is based off the last. I'd have to change that, and populate every drop down, then each time a selection is made, recall all the populate functions to update based off whatever you selected. I'd have to break out the bonus's from the main formula's, and add in two more drop downs. This by far isn't impossible, and would most likely in the long run make maintaining it a bit easier. This would be something I'll work on after getting the menu's fully complete, everything else I had on my plate complete, and the program being at a point I'd be fully happy with.

I appreciate the feedback, its good to hear from the community on it :)

Targonis

As I said, I know that many of those ideas would not be trivial to implement. As a thought, a dependency tree would probably work, where you have the end result, then look at the things required to get that result. The problem there is that it takes away some of the fun of building it tier by tier, so maybe both methods could be put in, with the user selecting if he/she/it would prefer selecting bonus effects as the goal, or if it's the primary tier 1-3 effects that are the primary focus.

Sanadil

I'll probably leave in what I have, and just make a secondary crafting tab.

For now, I'm nearly complete with all my changes. I'm going to add a part 2 walkthrough today, and release. I won't have part 4 or 5 walkthrough's in, but that's not a huge deal, and can be done later.

There is tons of fixes/changes/additions in this release. I'm going to move the version out of the 1 era, and into the 2. The next release will be 2.0.0. Expect it sometime this afternoon/evening.

Thank you for your work on this, it's looking really good at this point.

I just thought of another "nice feature", which would be to have multiple items that can be queued up. So if you want to make multiple items, there would be the first item(which is being worked on), then remaining items would go toward seeing what you need for item 2, etc. This would work for those like myself who have one or two tier 2 items and plan to make a total of four. Tier 1 and 2 items would clearly apply toward the third item while the large items would be prioritized towards the first and second item, only going toward the third if they are "extra".

The user would need to set the priority of the items, but most people at this point are aiming for one piece of equipment and one or two weapons, even at the start.

Yup, had someone else with the same problem. You have .NET 2.0 installed, but haven't patched it to SP1. The function I'm using to do the load is dependent on that. So drop by:

Microsoft .NET 2.0 SP1 (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=79BC3B77-E02C-4AD3-AACF-A7633F706BA5&displaylang=en)

Install that and your troubles should go away.

On a side note, I may take away the function call and not load the save file name into the system, or find another way to do it without the "SafeFileName" function... This would take away dependence on .NET 2.0 SP1, and only require .NET 2.0

Awesome tool, it's been very helpful.

Some suggested changes:

* Separate file menu options for loading/saving inventories and recipes.
* Add report showing excess ingredients to help with trade management
* Add 2nd Tier 3 menu. DDO Wiki has a great list of crafting recipes that require 2 tier 3 upgrades.

- I'll see about changing up the text on the save/load, depending on the tab you are on. I don't use the same forumula for each, and changing the menu on the fly in of itself isn't easy. Its easy to change the code behind, but the actual menu, not so much. All of the menu's are driven based on the tab you are on.

- So on compare, you want a report on what's left over? That shouldn't be to hard.

- 2nd Tier3 menu. That's not gonna happen. The dual shard (2 tier 3 upgrades), are already in the program. Try it out, go earth as 1st tier focus, posotive as 2nd tier focus, then you'll see a Earth/Mineral listed in the third, that's a dual shard recipe. I've been dabbling with the whole idea of a re-write on how the drop downs work in general, but to be honest, I'm not sure I want to dedicate that amount of time to it, it'd nearly be a complete re-write of the program. Maybe though, because I've been contemplating a break from the game as of recently, which would give me more time to play with programming.

Hey Sanadil,

I think your crafting planner is fantastic. I am having a little trouble loading the newest version though. I keep getting an error which I will list below. I have .Net and the service pack installed and I have run the program successfully before. However, this is the error I am getting:

Hey hey. This is a new one to me. What OS are you running (god please don't be vista ;))

From some digging around on the error, it appears to be a security level permission in internet explorer. I'm guessing the previous version you used didn't have the lights puzzle for the shroud in it? Its the only thing I can think would cause that error as it uses javascript. Its odd that its using the Internet zone though, all these files are local on your machine, and you can open them yourself and look at the code, I make no external (to the internet) calls.

Try this, open internet explorer, click on tools, and go to internet options. Click on the security tab, make sure Internet is selected (it is by default), then at the bottom of the window hit the "Custom" button. At the bottom of the next window that opens, you should see a Reset To drop down box, and a Reset... button. I have my laptop set to "Medium-High", and the app is working. I can't promise this will work, but its a good starting point.

If you don't have Java insalled, you may want to do that too:

http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp

Let me know what happens, I think you are the first this has occured on. I could make a custom version to check if its actually the Java that's causing it or not. Try the above first and let me know, we'll go from there.

The next itteration of the program is going to have an auto update feature, you will be able to check on the web if a new version is out, and no matter where you have it placed on your system, it will know, and update it to the latest and greatest :) I'm hoping this won't cause you issues too :(

Sanadil
06-25-2008, 09:28 AM
One other thing, are you running the app locally on your machine, or is it on a shared drive somewhere? Is this on your home machine, or in a work environment where you are on a domain etc..

Do you see the Loading box come up, then disapear and get the error, or does the error occure before you even see the loading...

In addition to what Sanadil has said, is your account on your machine a full Administrative account, or are you logging into your computer with an account that is set as a standard user or other restricted access account(like Guest)?

If you are running Windows Vista, I have seen some weirdness if you are using the "Administrator" account, since some programs these days won't run when you are logged in as Administrator, even though they work perfectly under any other account. Strange but true...

For Part 3: Knock wands do cut it, as long as they are 8th level or higher. A 7th level wizard can knock open portals on a roll of 16 or higher. Sucks, but works in a pinch.

One thing that I still wish the program would do would be to list the bonus effects as a way to select what item to make.

For example, you have the base item, then the user could select either the current method of picking tiers, or to pick from a list of desired effects from tier 2 and 3 bonuses. The selected effect would then narrow the selection of tier 1, 2, and 3 effects to things that would lead to the desired bonus effect.

For weapons, selecting Mineral/Transmuting would provide a list of ONLY the Earth for Tiers 1 and 3, and only Positive selections for tier 2. Right now, people hear about some of the effects, but need to check web sites to figure out which combinations of elements are needed to make it using the program. Trial and error would work, but checking all of the combinations to find the bonus effects can be a little annoying.

Thanks again for a great program...

That's been on my want to do list for a while. I just haven't had the time lately to mess with it. I have a list of small bugs, and a new option for updating via the web in the works, I just have to sit down and crunch at it for a day or two to finish. After that, I'll work on this feature, it will be the next to go in. I find myself doing the same thing as you. I'll add in a small FAQ for what gets you what, as a temporary fix, until I can implement this.

I've learned that it is best not to push the author of free software. When the next updates are ready, we will get them. I also suspect that there is a bit of burnout on the game(or just the Shroud) that is contributing to the delays.

So, I just hope the updates will come. If not, then what we have is still a great tool. There may also be some waiting for new content or additions to the game to give further incentive to add to the program.

I'm aware of the massive memory leak that occured with version 2.3.0. It was only up for about 3 hours before it was realized and a fix was in place.

Also, the updater wasn't working properly. Its still a beta product, but does work. The path that I had coded internally in the program, was to my local machines test path :) Its now relative and should work with version 2.3.1.

If you have version 2.3.0, it was eating up about 830 meg of ram when run. Just update to 2.3.1 and all should work just fine.

A note for you programmers out there, when testing things with 2 dimensional array's, don't leave them extra extra extra large, it eats alot of memory ;)

I'm aware of 1 more small bug that doesn't really affect functionality.

I had to change the Update.ini file to Update.txt, as my web provider would not let you download an INI file. I forgot to update the ShroudUpdate.exe file to reflect this. It will complain that it can't find the Update.ini file but will still run.

Another thing I forgot to add, that isn't a bug, but a feature, is the Completions on the raid timer, when you "Reset Timer", to say you completed the raid, it won't update the Completion count. Its an easy fix, but I've already released a hotfix within the first few hours, this functionality, along with baloon tips when minimized to the task bar, will come in the next revision.

Awesome work Sanadil, I love the way you got your raid timer setup man, and the best part is that I didn't have to do any of the work :) That's my favorite part.

I love the completions tracking portion and love how you go about adding new raids and characters, much easier.

Top notch job with everything.

The only thing I can see that is very minor would be something to keep track for prerequisites. No so much a big deal with Titan, Hound, Shroud, VoD, the Abbot, and Reaver.

What's funny is the only two raids so far that have something like this is Demon Queen and the Dragon. Almost makes me wish the Turbine would change that, but I got to admit the majority of raids don't have this function, so I got to give it to them in the way of they get it now and that they are o longer trying to add this annoyance.
Anyway, would be cool man if there was something to keep track of these things, if not I'm still happy with what you got going man.

Edit: Also I figured I would add font changes would be a good thing too, if you could make the font bigger or smaller or the style of it as well. So FontBox for the win.

Please be aware, I was in the middle of uploading an update to the planner, and my provider decided to take a, to put it in technical terms, dump. So, for the next 24 hours or so from this post, the Auto Update from within the program will not function. As soon as I get it fixed and the file uploaded properly, a new version will be available to address a few bugs that have been found.

Version 2.5.1 is up.

This version fixes a bug affecting people with lots of raid timers. Save your old Timers.txt file, it will now load in this version..

Enjoy!!

PS - Provider issues taken care of, the auto update will work now..

PPS - I was tired when I created version 2.5.0's full download zip file. It had some funky files from my testing included in it. It also may overwrite your timers.txt file if you downloaded it. Its no longer available and the latest zip will not overwrite anything, this is only for those that may have it saved somewhere local.

As an extra option to the crafting planner it would be lovely to be able to start with selecting a wanted Tier3 effect and then "backtrack" to Tier 2 and 1.
Example: I want a Tier3 (WT) +100 sp,+3WIS skills etc. then the program automagically narrows down to the possible ways to get there from Tier 2 en Tier 1.

But furthermore; awesome program, tyvm for creating and sharing this!!!

Oh, 1 more thing.

I'm thinking of changing the name of the program. Being that it has quite a bit more in it than just crafting, and more to come, I'd like to get some input on if this would be a good idea.

If you feel it is, what would you call the program?

Possible name for the program: Interactive DDO Game Guide

Since it is growing to the point where it is a guide...now, you just need to have a link to the official DDO compendium and you are set.

This was an idea I suggested a while ago(check page 3 of this thread). Many people still do not know what the bonus effects are, so need to check the various spreadsheets to see which elements they need to pick in tiers 1 and 2 in order to get the desired tier 3 bonuses.

Sanadil

That is going to be one of the toughest all around features to add. Full re-write of the behind the scenes selection process.

For the mean time, under FAQ, I've added what all the bonuses are, and what focus you need to choose in tier 1/2 to get there.

The section of FAQ was taken directly from DDO Wiki. I "cleaned" it up a little, just shortened headers etc so it would fit in the page better on the planner.

This is really nice, I am using the raid timer and ingredient tracker to keep track of what I have spread across my characters.

I'm currently running V2.6.0, but the following are things I would like to see:

Update the weapon info in the Shroud Crafting section to have all the dmg dice, crit range and crit multiplier for the various GS weapons. This info can be found in a chart on the DDO Wiki here. http://ddo.enterwiki.net/page/Green_Steel_Item

Have the ingredient data in the save file updated if the numbers were changed when the program quits or have a button at the bottom of the ingredients page to save the current info to the file that was opened. It would also be nice if it automatically loaded the last open ingredient save file when the program is started up. The first part is to keep me from having to resave and overwrite the save file every time I do a shroud run, and the second part is to cut down on the amount of bookkeeping I have to do when I start the planner back up. The raid timers are all correct when I restart the program but the rest of the tabs don't remember what I was doing on them.

Once more, thanks for the really useful utility.

Sanadil

The Items tab should remember what you had in it from the last time, it functions exactly like the raid timer. It should remember the last walkthrough, and the last map you were viewing also.

The only tabs that don't remember are those that you can save multiple files for, namely, the Forumula, and the Ingredients.

Ingredients tab will ask you before closing if you want to save the file, only if its different than the last loaded file, or if you haven't saved it at all, and have put some data in it.

I could load the last save file if one exists, for formula's. I'm not so sure I want to auto save that though. Here's my reasoning. If you load a formula, and create it so you can view the output. Then leave it open say for a day, two, a week, whatever it may be. Then come back to it, forgetting you loaded that file a week ago, and change the data to something else, then close the program. With auto save, it would overwrite that file you had loaded.

I may be able to do something along the lines of check on close if something has changed, then ask to auto save, and give the file name you would be saving to. This would give the user the choice to just save (overwrite) it, without the open prompt, or hit no and keep their original formula. I'm not sure what it would entail right now. Saving with that dialog you see is totally different than the auto saves I do on other tabs :) Auto saves on the other tabs have a static, set in stone place where the file is. Formula's and Ingredients can be saved anywhere on your machine. Okay, I'm writing a novel lol. I'll see what I can do.

I'm typing this on the RC1 Build 7100 version of Windows 7 (32 Bit). The crafting planner is fully working on this build. The only bug I've been able to find is in the Raid Timer help file. It appears to not like the chm file, so I may need to turn this into something else in a future release so all can view it.

Just wanted to give all those that have tried earlier versions of this operating system, and were having trouble, a heads up that its going to work when it releases to the general public.

THIS ERROR IS FIXED SINCE VERSION 3.0.0

Ding ding ding...light bulb moment!

So I got some reports on those errors about windows 7 when it was in beta. Guess what, the error is repeatable everywhere, its not just windows 7.

If you run the crafting planner today on your system, then go and move the folder to somewhere else, run the crafting planner from the new location, you will get an error message that pops up, and none of the web pages etc will load.

Cause: The maps in the planner, require the full path to the image file, not a relative path. (Needs C:\Program Files\blablabla\Crafting\Image\Outdoor\Map.jpg, and not \Image\Outdoor\Map.jpg)

Resolution: For now, just go to the map tab after it loads, and pic a DIFFERENET MAP than the one the error is showing. Close the planner, open it again, and you are back in business.

I'll try to get this fixed for the next release.

Sample Error Message:

http://www.inthecore.com/ddo/images/temp/cp-error.jpg

This shows aussircaexvalley.jpg as the offending map, so I just chose something else, like the vale, and after closing and opening, it all worked again.

Time to swap back to my XP Hard drive and see if I can't quickly fix this one :)

THIS ERROR IS FIXED SINCE VERSION 3.0.0

Another bug found (Windows 7 Only). If you click on any of the email links in the program, and no default email program is set, you will get an error. This will be exclusive to Windows 7, as microsoft has done away with a pre-packaged email client. You must download windows live mail, or some other 3rd party email client, for it to work.

Please note, just downloading windows live itself will not work, you must setup an email account within it for the error to stop occuring.

I'll surround the email code with a piece of code to not show the error, and just pop a window stating you need to install an email client.

Do you mean on the FAQ, the Drop Down Box on the crafting tab, or the output in the crafting formula?

The drop down box on the crafting tab, many of the weapons don't have anything but the weapon name. The format I would like would be:

Longbow (1d10, 20/3x)

and so on. Of course it would be nice if the data also showed up in the area where the crafted formulea are shown.

I'm not as concerned with having recipes loading or saving as I am the ingredient tab. I'm not sure why but the numbers there are wrong from time to time. I've started the program up and loaded the file and had a lot of the data be off, like the save did not work or something. Or are the numbers on the ingredient page affected when I hit craft on the GS creation page? Its most notable because I've had my number of large devil scales go from 12 to 7 for some reason but I don't have any memory of putting a 7 in there. I don't plan to use any of my stockpile until mod9 when I can see which slots are free of cool loot.

******************************************
EDIT:

ADDED TO VERSION 3.0.0

I may have fixed the bug you were experiencing in 3.0.0 too. I had an odd one where it would reload a file when you asked it not to, under very rare circumstances :)

******************************************

I can add that info to the drop downs and formula's pretty easily.

As far as the Ingredient tab not being the same. That's a new one. I've never had it, in the time I've been using it, not be what I put it in to be.

It reads straight from a saved text file, all the numbers are in there. The only thing that could cause it would be a failed save, but if you don't remember ever putting a "7" in a field and it was a 7 later, that's something all together different, and honestly, I'm about 99% sure it can't happen. Each field in the save file is categorized for each box on the ingredient tab. Large Scales, for instance, could be number 45 in my save file, so it'll look something like 45=12 (that's not it exactly, just an example). So, that box in the program, can't have anything, other than what 45= sais it is. There is no way, its a 1 for 1 relation.

Unless there is some kind of way I can repeat this problem, with consistency, it'll be nearly impossible to debug, I'd be shooting blanks in the dark :(

Ikuryo
05-08-2009, 01:27 AM
Its not of great concern its just a little annoying. I was wondering if it was being affected by the recipe tab because I would start at 12 large scales, hit create with a recipe that used 5 large scales and later notice that the ingredient tab had 7 large scales listed. Its more an oddity then a real problem but I thought I should mention it.

Thanks for looking into the change in the drop down.

EDIT: Was looking at my raid timers and sorted it by time and realized that it sorts on first digit of the number, not by which number is larger.

So the order ends up:
2 days 15 hours
2 days 14 hours
9 hours
14 hours

when sorted in a decreasing amount of time remaining instead of:

2 days 15 hours
2 days 14 hours
14 hours
9 hours

A small matter but it can lead to the order being kind of odd.

Sanadil
05-22-2009, 10:56 PM
Not sure I'll be able to fix that one. The field is a text field that the time is going in, so a preceding 0 would need to be placed in for it to sort properly. Right now there is some pretty extensive changes going into the next revision which is taking some time to complete and test. I'll see what I can do for this the next go around of changes.

I like everything I am seeing in the 3.0 version. The only issue would be that if you have just made your green steel item, and your ingredients do not show enough to make the green steel blank, the "limit dropdowns" option will not let you select anything, even if you indicate you wish to skip that step. The workaround for now would be to just put in raw ingredients on the character tab.

I would suggest that if you tell it to skip a tier or two, that you can put in anything without the "limit dropdowns" being applied to what is being skipped.

Sanadil
10-26-2009, 08:08 PM
Long time no post. I've been back at the Planner again recently. The option you asked for Targonis with the omiting tiers on limits, is a pita ;) I spent over 8 hours working on it as it turned out to be much harder than expected. No single way I did it felt right or user friendly. I'm going to be releasing with a very basic one. Check off the tier's you want to skip, check off the limit based on ingredients, and the ones you checked off first will be ignored. It will only take affect if you have them checked off prior to checking the limit button. I have a working demo of it, it still feels a little off, but works.

Ring crafting is fully fleshed out already. Currently I don't list any of the actual rings, just the bonuses you can put on them. If ya'll want the rings in there just say, I can add a drop down for it. It has no relavance(sp?) to the outcome of the formula though.

Some more maps will be coming, possibly the Definitive Loot Thread may make its way in there some how. A few other goodies may or may not make it into the release depending on how hard they are. As usual bug fixes etc, oh, and we are compiling on VS.NET 2008 now.

Tonight I play DDO, enough programming... just wanted to let everyone know this is still alive and well..

Targonis
10-29-2009, 03:09 PM
Thanks for working on it Sanadil, as always it is appreciated.

When it comes to the difficulty, without knowing how you are doing your coding, couldn't you use a method to exclude items from the list and work it that way? So if you pick "lightning", it would automatically exclude all items from tier 1 except for positive or air, and then for tier 2 it would exclude everything from the tier 1, leaving you with what would be acceptable.

If you already make the full list for each tier a list which is a combination of all valid elements(default being all when not going for a given effect), it would be "list A"+"List E"+"List F"+"list W"+"List P"+"List N" for what will show up. Then for the idea, you just make the displayed list exclude groups of these in the final choice.

It has been a LONG time since I had to do any programming(I burned out on programming back in 1993), but the concept is fairly simple, and the implementation is what may suck depending on the programming language.

Sanadil
10-29-2009, 04:43 PM
The way I'm doing the limiting, I take a snap shot in time of what you have, I actually do a save as if you were doing it from the file menu. I now have your original file. Since I'm not guaranteed to be able to create the formula, I need that. If when you check limit, the forumla cannot be made, I allow you to uncheck limit, which loads your original file, so you can compare to your ingredients and see what you are missing.

Trying to explain how I'm loading those drops downs, and what I'm doing to compare to ingredients, would take just to long and be to confusing unless you could see the code.

The jist, it reloads your formula, loops through all possible greensteel items, depending on your ingredients you have, each time you have enough ingredients to make an item, it adds it. If one matches the tier its on, it moves to the next tier, it finishes its current tier out if its not done, then moves onto the next tier, and does the same thing, until it either finishes, or hits a wall and you can't make the item, at which point it stops.

If you have no formula selected when you check it off, it only checks the greensteel one, then will check subsequent ones as you select an item from the list.

I'm limited since each successive drop down relies on the previous drop down's selections, along with its only going based on raw ingredients to make the item.

I was going with a way where when you checked off the omit, and had the limit on, it would reload the formula again and try to get further since you are omitting. The problem is I ended up needed like 3 different save files, and keeping track of them, and knowing which one to load when, got really out of hand. My bugs kept revolving around me losing the original formula, then it just got all out of whack.

Anyway, what you are describing is doable, just not in my scenario. The program doesn't "know" what it can make. I can't just say if you pick lightning to auto exclude pos or air. It has to loop through the data files to figure out what it can and cannot make, and I don't want to have to code in the dependancies, they are in the data files themselves already. I blindly go through the data files and pull data out. The only time I do a lookup in code is searching for bonus's for each level.

That was longer than it probably should have been :) New release coming in the next 10 minutes...

And it's close enough to the shroud crafting layout that people won't struggle to figure it out.

Dragon: The layout I had there followed the other two, Ring/Shroud crafting. I like your idea though, and have switched it around internally. It won't deviate from the Shroud Crafting all that much.

Raz: Yes the augments will change depending on what you want to put on it :p The Catalyst will vary too, and sometimes, your catalyst and augment colors won't be the same ;) muahaha.

FYI. I'm not sure what's causing it, but the Kick Buttowski ad banner that gets thrown in the compendium every once in a while, is throwing a script error. This is happening when running the Game Guide too. Its NOT a game guide error, but a web page error.

You've done well for this one.

Especially like that you've added in the LotD and DQ1 quest answers.

The epic crafting works brilliantly although the ice games I'm missing something :p Assuming it's not finished just yet or I'm just not seeing something.

Oh and the wiki link addition with your new layout for crafting makes life a lot easier.

And no bugs to be found from my side from what I've seen ;)

Only issue was the dreamforge crafting may be a bit confusing but you didn't write it so no biggie :D

Congrats San, it's an impressive piece of software

Ice games lol, ya, that's just a little poke...notice the smile is made of...twigs... lmfao. I'll add in crafting for that at a future date possibly. Its a temporary thing in game, and knowing turbine..the recipes will change year to year.

I must say, I've been using this interactive game guide for a while now and I absolutely love it. If people don't have it, I usually post a link in the chat window.

Easy to use. Very helpful. Has pretty much everything you'd need.

Thanks again for making this.:D

Not sure, I open it BEFORE DDO every day and have it up on my second monitor as the Raid Timer, Ingredients and recipe logs, Maps, Puzzle Solvers, etc are invaluable to me!

I highly recommend it to every player of DDO.

I love this tool and have loved using it for quite a long time. Can't begin to express my gratitude to the author.

Personally, I like the old version I have just fine, since it does the 4 things I want: Vale puzzle for when I'm lazy, Reaver puzzle, Raid Timer, and shroud crafting, and I'm a fan of 'light' tools: The less extra stuff they load, and the faster they initialize, the happier I am.

Still, this version is amazing for anyone who needs any other info re: DDO. A real must-have.

Hope you fixed the 3rd tier crafting showing to double imbue. I screwed up my GS rapier cause this did not tell me to double imbue my 3rd tier and now I have to collect all my ingedients all over again. And I am sure everyone knows that it takes forever to collect the ingedients.
Just checked it out and I see that it has it now. Thanks for a WONDERFUL tool.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again....Dual Shard Recipe's have been in the planner since mid 2008, Version 2.6. I'm sorry your item got messed up, but blaming the planner isn't the solution. I did nothing but change what you see in this version, its the exact same recipe's that were available before. I don't expect everyone to like planner. I use it myself daily, and have crafted every Radiance, Min II etc item I have on all my characters with it, with no issues. If you can provide me with a sample of what was wrong, exactly what you chose, I'll explain why it didn't work. 9.95 times out of 10, its human error. One wrong selection out of your inventory will change the entire recipe.

The planner has always had the dual shard. If you don't select the right aspect on the tier 3 upgrade it's not going to show up as a dual shard

It has always worked for me when I picked the right selection for the third tier. Of course, if you go air/water/earth or something like that, the option for the dual-shard tier 3 won't be there.

I had the program set to stay on top of other programs before I updated it. Once I updated the program, it would no longer pop up from the task bar with a single click. I attempted to minimize everything else to no avail. Even having just the planner running would not allow it to pop up. The only option I've found to view the planner is to maximize it, which means I cannot look at the planner and ddo at the same time. While not a huge deal it does cut back on its usefulness.

There's something whacky going on with the code I put in to remember the window size.

Try this for a fix:

1) Wherever you extracted the game guide, head to that directory. Inside you'll see the "Config" directory. Head in there. Delete the WindowSize.txt file.

2) Re-Run the planner, it should fix your problem.

I haven't traced what is causing this yet. I know for one person, they had their shortcut to the planner, set to run maximized all the time.

FYI, I had to remove the Loot List page from my hosting provider. Its shared hosting, and it was getting slammed, basically making everything else I had on the site just not function properly.

I'll revert back to a local copy next release.

For now, there is a local copy already on your installs and you can manually open it, its under webpages/general/DFL.html

Sorry about this folks.

Sorry I didnt see a responce to this topic come up in my email. No worries. I have wiped my computer clean and installed Windows 7 and only install the new version of this planner. All I care about is that is works now and that is all that matters. I cant remember what I had chosen or anything from the old one. It could have been my fault as it was almost 2 months ago and I cant remember. It is a great program and I load it everyday before I start the game. The only problem I have found is that sometimes when it starts it wont open up windowed. I mean I closed the program windowed and the next day I open it up and it shows it in my taskbar and when I click on it, it just blinks and wont open. I have to rightclick on it in the taskbar and pick maximize for it to open up maximized. If I try to shrink it back to a smaller window it just goes to taskbar. I am not worried about this problem too much at all as it doesnt matter to me if it is full screen or windowed. Just nice to have it windowed when using the puzzles. It is an AWESOME tool and I use it everyday. Thanks for the great work.:D

Hey San. I found a potential bug with 3.2 I downloaded and unpacked a second copy to be certain that my particular download wasn't corrupt. Anyway, I put in a green steel recipe for goggles. I chose air for the first tier but when I click create, the first tier air changes to fire. This happens no matter what I chose for the 2nd and 3rd tier. Also, it only appears to occur on items not weapons. Thought I would let you know.

Regardless, this is one of the best game guides I have ever come across for any game.

What did you select for the tier 1 air? What was the sorting set at? So far I've just selected goggles, and each tier 1 air with sorting being focus. Each air remained air after I hit create.. I'm not saying there isn't an issue, this stuff has happened in the past and it may have some bug in the data files causing it (the new 2 character sorting may be causing it)

Found it. Sorted by Essence, Selecting the +10HP and dex skills will cause it to bounce to FIRE instead of Air. Its a data issue, I'll update the data files for the next one. It does the same thing when sorted by Gem. Sorted by Focus does not do it.

I may release a maintenance update to the planner to update the loot list, and fix a few of the bugs that have been reported over the past few weeks.

On a side not, I had for the first time, the whole window starts minimized thing happen to me. I kept re-running the app and it eventually stopped happening. I am running Windows 7 and it was happening almost everytime. Now I just go in and delete the file before even trying. However if it would help I could try it without the deleting the file first to get it to happen and send you a log file, it such a file exists anywhere?

That would be great. If you could get it to happen, then zip up the config folder with all files held within, then email it to ddocrafting@gmail.com

Couple other questions: Are you on 64 or 32 bit Win 7? What is your screen resolution set at when running.

I'm considering ripping it out of the planner fully. I'm almost certain I know what the trouble is, and I don't think I'll be able to fix it. One fix for another more serious bug is causing this one to occur.

A full working example would be great, one I could reproduce here. Thanks!

Win 7 32bit, clean install and nvidia driver installed. 1280x1024 Res. Maximise it and it loads 100%

Odd thing. the splash screen while loading database is fine. As soon as the program opens it vanishes. If you hover your mouse over the task bar it shows a healthy piece of software with the correct preview. Just nothing displayed on screen. But if you maximise it it works fine.

Well, last night I went home and of course it worked 10 times in a row. I tried it while running DDO and IE etc. It had gotten to the point where I would just go delete the file before even trying.

At first, I would always just open it up from within the folder. Lately I made a desktop shortcut. Last night I opened it both ways and it always worked. The only thing different from when it would fail 75% of the time and now when it always works is the creation of the shortcut.

Anway I will download the new version, thanks for making this!

Well, what I thought would fix the WindowSize.txt bug didn't. Its still happening. I have a set of data that can make it happen every single time, and I know what's doing it for sure now. Deleting the file still fix it like it did. Next version will have a fix in for it, and I'll try to get it out soon. Its an annoying enough bug to warrant its own release.

If its happening to you, could you just open the WindowSize.txt file up and take a look. If you see anything like below:

713
940
-32000
-32000
Normal

See the negative numbers in there, that's what is doing it. I'm not exactly sure what's causing the negative numbers to occur just yet. I've tried end tasking it when its minimized to the task bar. I still have to try rebooting when its minimized to the task bar. A lot happens when the program closes the correct way. Most of it doesn't really require that it to be closed properly, aka it won't break it My fix at the present, unless I can fully determine what's making it happen, is to just check the file on load, if it finds negative numbers, set them to 0. It sets all those numbers any time you move, or re-size the program. Nothing should allow the negative numbers of that size to occur.

That's all for now, just wanted to give you a heads up.

- Fix for those experiencing the planner not showing on run, and having to delete the WindowSize.txt file before running to fix. This "SHOULD" no longer happen ;) If it does the code gets ripped out next version. You should no longer get the hitch on running the app, or entering the crafting tabs any more.

I still have to delete this file.

Bug Report: (Breaks the Crafting Planner)
Do the following, minimize the Planner window, then on the taskbar, right click and choose close.
Congratulations, you now have to delete the WindowSize.txt file.

[Suggestion]
Perhaps if there is nonsense in this file, your program should default to that the file did not exist?

The bugged WindowSize.txt looks like this:

713
932
-32000
-32000

Aethelrede: Thanks!!

Agorillia: I looked into Subversive. Its not as easy as it looks to setup. This will take a bit, but yes, I'll be making the source public for those that are serious about it, to code for the planner. Its written in VB.net. It started in 2003, then 2005, currently on 2008. If you are good at VB.net, and don't have the 2008 version, I can work something out for ya, hit me in PM for details.

Kindoki: I'm aware of those issues, and its why I created the mirrors. When I released the Definitive loot thread as part of the planner, and made it available via my website, it crushed the site, making any downloads near impossible as I was hitting thresholds with my provider. I've since remove that, yet I'm still getting 20,000+ hits on the page, which are still impacting the site. Its not as bad as it was, but still it will take some time for people to upgrade their planners to not attempt to access it, and those that decided to use the page without permission from their own websites, to stop referencing it. I'll keep mirrors up for every release, so you can hit them if the primary isn't working.

NGN-Aeo: Thanks!!

Lastly, I've gotten all the programming done to fix the two most glaring bugs in the current version. I'm holding off on release so I can add a few more things to it before it goes live. I know I said last weekend, and this weekend isn't looking any better, but I promise it'll be out soon.

I keep getting scrip debuggers popping up when I try to run the program. I removed my existing version and re-downloaded it and I'm still getting the same problem. Any suggestions for fixing it?

edit:
this is what I get from the microsoft scrip debugger:

[3912] C:\Program Files\Turbine\crafting\Crafting\Shroud Crafting.exe
then it goes to jscript runtime error
and points to here:

re_("07z39-4yt3aqp009");

I can sometimes exit out of the debugger (repeatedly) in order to use the crafting program. Its almost more frustrating to get it to work.

Thanks,

Try stopping the Wiki and Compendium from loading in the settings. If you can't get the planner to load to get at the settings, you can go into your config directory, and open up the Settings.txt file.

Number 16 and 17 control those two tabs. This is what they should look like to disable them:

16=True
17=True

The wiki is 16, and the compendium is 17.

If you stop getting errors then its for sure some external issue. You may want to try getting the latest java too from here:

http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp

Let me know if any of that helps.

Hmm, that may be why, I'm pretty sure, not 100%, but pretty sure VB.net uses IE's engine for hosting web content, not what's default on the system.

Thank you Sanadil, Vinton, Kabraxis, and Bubah for making an amazing application. I use it for crafting, quests and raids. Thank you very much.

I was looking at the files that make up the quests and it seems pretty straitforward. Edit the Quests.txt in \Crafting\Data and then update the html files in \Crafting\WebPages. There are quite a few quests writeups in the User-Written Game and Strategy Guides section of the forums. Are these ever going to be included (or your own writeups) in your quests and raids portion of the guide? If not could someone update the relevant files and post them for others to use?

Its a bug that I have fixed in my dev version here. Shut the program down (may have to be done in Task Manager), Delete the WindowSize.txt file out of the config folder then re-run the program.

I'll be honest guys, I haven't worked on this in a long time. I fixed those bugs and had plans to do other things but every time I got a free moment, I had something else that needed to be done. I may just release the way it is as a bug fix only.

Alot of mine came from the lost quest guide when I first did that section. Its very time consuming copying every quest out of it into the proper format. If you'd like to do that I'd be more than happy to include them into the guide..hint hint..nudge nudge.. :)

I think there is a mistake in the crafting planner. I printed out the instructions for this:

Positive - Escalation - Ethereal
+50 sp, +2 Cha Skills , Chain Lightning (3/day)

Gather These Raw Materials (From Shroud Part 2 & 3 Chests):
2 - Medium Glowing Arrowheads
1 - Medium Gnawed Bones
2 - Medium Infernal Chains
3 - Medium Devil Scales
1 - Medium Twisted Shrapnel
3 - Medium Sulfurous Stones
1 - Shard Of Great Power
5 - Shavarath Medium Energy Cells From Chests Within the Shroud, or the Vendor in Part 3

Power - Depleted Shavarath Medium Energy Cell With +6 to +15 Weapons (Combine Weapon & Energy Cell on Alter)

Create - Focus Of Positive
Combine: Medium Glowing Arrowhead, Medium Gnawed Bone, Medium Devil Scales, Medium Sulfurous Stone, Shavarath Medium Energy Cell

Create - Gem Of Escalation
Combine: Medium Infernal Chain, Medium Devil Scales, Medium Twisted Shrapnel, Medium Sulfurous Stone, Shavarath Medium Energy Cell

Create - Ethereal Essence
Combine: Medium Glowing Arrowhead, Medium Infernal Chain, Medium Devil Scales, Medium Sulfurous Stone, Shavarath Medium Energy Cell

Create - Imbued Shard of Great Power (Positive)
Combine: Focus Of Positive, Gem Of Escalation, Ethereal Essence, Shard of Great Power, Shavarath Medium Energy Cell

Create Final Item - Greensteel Bracers With Wizardry VI, +1 Cha Skills , +50 sp, +2 Cha Skills - Chain Lightning (3/day)
Combine: Greensteel Bracers(With Tier 1 Upgrade), Imbued Shard Of Great Power (Positive), Shavarath Medium Energy Cell

And what I ended up with was the tier 2 fire that gave me +2 int and displacement instead. Now what I usually do is print up the instructions then arrange my inventory to the crafting list i printed out so that way when I do a shroud run it doesn't take me long to craft. And then I check out the arrangement a few times to make sure it's set up right. So needless to say that it kind of messed up my plans I had for my bracers. Might want to take a look into it. :)

I was working on this last night but when I tried to add items to the quests.txt file an error message , "Index was outside the bounds of the array" would come up. I suppose it makes good sense to limit the amount of memory used by capping your array, just thought it would be set to the actual number of quests in game to enable this type of modification.

Don't see a way to add outdoor maps or raids, I'm assuming they are directly referenced in the code.

So if I put everything in the proper format who do I sent it to to be included in the next update?

The wiki piece would make the transition slow form the loading to the main program...loading would disappear quickly either way...then the time it took to show the actual program took a while... If you are just stuck on loading forever..something else is wrong. I've never had it just stick on loading in any of my tests...it will always error out if it hits something it doesn't like. What green check mark does it get to? Does it finish them all then just do nothing? Have you right moused and tried to run as administrator to see if it changes anything?

I know I haven't really updated everyone in a while. I've answered emails coming into ddocrafting@gmail.com, and I've promised a new release always soon(tm). Whats taking FOREVER...is updating the ingredient files. Nearly everything changed in DQ with the last update. Its so tedious and time consuming to do..I get through 10 items..then just can't do it anymore..I'd rather run my head into the wall a few hundred times ;)

I'm working on the data files again on the train ride home, hope to pound through a few more things.

I've told someone I would work on TR for the raid timer, but I don't think it will make it into this one, just FYI...

Sanadil

There is no install for it. As long as you have .net installed on your PC (you can get it from windows updates), all you have to do is extract the file (right mouse and select extract), then run the "Shroud Crafting.exe"

What part of the loading screen does it get to? What green check mark was last lit before it stopped responding?

You did extract the zip file right? You didn't just open the zip file in windows explorer and try to run it from there..

It should Ash. If you copied it to your program files folder under win 7/vista, you may need to run as admin as it needs to write to files in its own directory, and uac in those os's don't like writing to anything in that dir without admin permissions. If its anywhere else it should work fine.

I really like this tool a lot. It's awesomesauce and I'm recommending it around.

But I got a feature request to place: Make a button to substract the ingredients required to craft the current item from the list of ingredients. If possible each tier individually as you are not crafting the entire item at once. This would make managing the ingredients in the tool a lot easier; because after you have crafted you can remove the recently used ingredients from the list of what you have available.

I was looking into doing something similiar to this in the past. I'll see what I can do for the next release. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna make it so it only subtracts from the raw ingredients and not the fully made ones.

That's a good question actually, does anybody really use the ingredient tracking for essences, focus, and materials? I personally never do, only my raw stuff. I only make what I need at the time of making it, not ahead.

Would anybody object to me removing those pieces on the ingredient tab..everything on the right (except the epic stuff)?

I keep them stored there, just in case a new recipe uses them it will show it as completed and no need for me to craft it again/farm for products.

I'd like it to stay.

Not sure if it's server load issues, but get (500) errors after the main .exe download while updating a 3.2.0 version of the application.

Is there an 'offline' patch online download via alternate means?

But yes, fantastic tool. I wish all people playing DDO had it.

As the previous two posters stated, it works with 64 bit. My primary at home is win 7 64 bit and its working fine. There was a time in the past that it wasn't playing nice, but I found the work around to make it work. What symptoms are you having? It may not be a 64 bit issue, but just a windows issue in general.

You can download from one of the mirrors in the OP. Its nearly the same thing, and overwriting with the contents of the zip won't overwrite any of your settings.

Its been brought to my attention that you need to put in a character name in the item tracker or it won't show up in the list. I'll see about defaulting it to something in the next update...like (NONE) if you don't enter it in. That's the only required field, character name. (The person was using it to keep track of seals/shards etc, and didn't want to assign it to a particular character).

It will do this same thing with the raid timer, character is required.

Hello there,

while thinking about our lately acquired guild ship I figured it would be great to have a tool to track the remaining times on amenities and crew - and thought instantly it should be similar to the raid timer in your Game Guide. Ever thought about adding something like this?

Meowin

I see this from two sides. On the one hand, it would be nice to know, have a list of all the possible ship bonuses, and set a time on when they will expire. On the other hand, most guilds have multiple officers, a leader, and successor. Any one of them could change the timer at any given point, making what you have in your game guide, not accurate. I'm not sure how much use this would get. Anybody else have an opinion on the matter?

I've had another request to put in a similar timer for ransack on chests. How does everyone feel about that? If I did it, should it be its own tab, or add it to the raid timer..and rename it to game timer as it would be for multiple things?

The ingredient reduction from green steel is something I've wanted to do for a while. I'm having a hard time on real-estate on the shroud crafting tab though. I have no idea where I'm going to put the objects needed to make it work.

I've been re-vamping the item tracker. Its getting a pretty major overhaul. Ideas I'm going for..some I've already started on are:

Color coding the text based on type.
Drop downs for character and type...which will get auto populated with what you already have in your file.
Export/Import to tab delimited files so you can mass modify in a third party program like excel.

Thank you for this awesome tool. :-)

I have one small probably typo, or something they changed after last version was released but when making epic recipe, the program says, that epic dungeon tokens are BTC. I dont know about raid tokens, started running epics recently and no raid for me yet, but i have few dungeon tokens, and they are definitely bound to account.
