I'm looking to get some feedback on these two abilities. I took crippling strike since I leveled to 13 before the patch, and I've been underwhelmed. I suppose it might reduce some mobs' to-hit and damage a bit, but most stuff dies so quickly I don't really notice it. So I'm interested to hear what people's experiences have been with these two in case I decide to switch. Defensive roll seems more useful, since I get multiple chances on most will saves anyway, and on the ones that don't, with my will save I figure if I failed it once I'm likely to again.

The one thing about Defensive Roll is that it only works if you are at or below 20% health. So in my case with 212 hitpoints, its only gonna help if I am down to around 42 hitpoints. I don't know about you, but thats not a place I try to hang out for very long, if at all.

Slippery Mind is pretty cool as it lets you make another roll on a failed will save. Even if your will save is crazy high, you still can roll a 1.

Per the release notes, Slippery Mind and Defensive Roll are broken and not working.

They will be fixed 'in a future patch'.

"Current Known Issues (Module 6: The Thirteenth Eclipse)
The following new abilities will be unavailable to rogues. This will be fixed in the next patch.

Defensive Roll: Grants the rogue a chance to cheat death when critically injured. When below 20% health, a rogue with Defensive Roll has a chance equal to their total Reflex Save Modifier of taking half damage from melee or ranged weapon attacks, and negating any special effects associated with the attack as if the rogue were blocking. Defensive Roll is subject to the same armor and encumbrance restrictions as the Evasion class skill.

Slippery Mind: Grants the rogue a second chance to avoid harmful enchantments. Upon failure of a Will Save vs. Enchantments, the rogue immediately receives a second attempt at the saving throw."

Module 6, Patch 1 Release Notes:
UPDATE: We are aware that while rogues have received a respect token, they are unable to use it to respec Defensive Roll and Slippery Mind. We are investigating this issue and will fix it in a future update. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Oh, didn't see that, thanks for pointing it out. I guess the question is moot for now.

Personally, i'm vying for slippery mind, if they ever get it fixed. When i heard they were implementing it, i reworked all my gear around to allow me to equip a +5 wisdom item, and read a handy dandy book that enlightened me to the ways of the world. I also picked up a resistance item, anticipating that if i had a 15 percent chance of overcoming some enemy's mind control, then i'd be even better getting two shots at it.

nah, not totally a dump stat, but i started with a 10 wisdom and a 12 charisma. Feat prolly isn't worth it just to cover that lil' bit there. And don't call me Shirley ;)

The whole FoP being a Standard Feat and Slippery Mind being a ROgue Special ABlity kinda comes into play as well....

You cant take them "Either/Or" as they use differnt Feat slots

I never wear a Wis item unless I have to, but always have my CHA item on for UMD... 22 CHA FTW... now on my reroll that will be a 24 Cha possible 26 depend if i can get lucky in a Reaver Raid.
