Hi All,

Just wondering if a level 20 ranger gets anything special. I think you get your 5th favored enemy but is there any else special?

Otherwise I might take a level of wizard for extend on displacement.

Thanks.

A horse called Silver and a sidekick called Tonto.

Seriously though, no idea. I've just downed a couple of Red Bull and felt like making a contribution. :)

Don't underestimate that FE, gonna be like 14 damage and at least 3 AC (w/o any new enchantments) against another monster type.

Yeah that's why I want to go straight ranger.

I guess at lvl20 I would have a 2 minute displacement without extend, and I think 6 uses per rest of it. It would be awesome to have that for 4 minutes, but favored enemy would be good too.

The only problem with putting all of those action points into getting more displacements is it means less action points to put into favored enemy enhancements!

Okay I won't bother multi classing, I might go the Deepwood Sniper route with the Shadow mark aswell.

Extended = 4 Minutes x 6 uses @ lvl 20.

At level 20 with the current enhancements you can still hit +12 damage on all the FE's. You also need to consider the fact that, at level 20, you'll have 16 more action points then are currently available.

Yeah I was saying 2 minutes x 6 uses without getting extend. 6 Uses is from enhancements as well isn't it? I assume you only ever get 2 uses from the base feat

Yeah that's true, but I guess I assume they would end up going into new enhancements like ranger dex/elf dex, new lines of favored enemies etc.

Or are the current enhancements all we will probably get? I haven't been around much to pay attention how it worked with previous level increases.

I prefer the SRD (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/classes/ranger.htm) to get an idea of what Ranger could like at higher levels.

So, level 19 ranger versus level 19 ranger...

+1 Fortitude and Reflex save
5th favored enemy
One level 4 spell slot

There is also d6 hit dice and 1 BAB (which might translate into another swing at BAB 20), but that totally varies depending on the class you'll multicalss for. There are also 6 skill points difference. As this is DDO, enhancement will be something to consider too...

Wow, and I thought the wiki didn't look at great!?!

(Besides, we're getting a reskinning soon.:))

The other thing is that we may get lucky and the Turbine devs may find a way to code in dragonmark rods for the poor dragonmarked players that can't fit spellcasting classes into their builds...

I'm also hoping to see some enhancement chains based off of MysticTheurge's suggestions from the Dragonmarked sourcebook.

I don't see the current enhancements getting any more powerful. Prestige enhancements definately but I doubt we'll be seeing things like Rangers DEX 4 and Elven DEX 3.

I used to doubt we'd see them, but now we got weapons what raise your ability by 9, I'm seeing it more than possible. And I've always seen more favored enemy enhancements as a given. Same for a few others that will, very likely, have a continuation.

I hate to think how much it would cost to respec a feat when you are level 20...

Wish they would make it a bit more flexible and not require shards, I just don't have the time to level multiple characters and they keep changing/adding things

The big question I now have is.

With WF: Ranged, a high dex, I assume I will be able to quite easily hit mobs on high levels/elite even without truestrike or precision?

However, without Weapon Finesse, a high dex and moderate Strength, will I be able to hit anything in melee (apart from my favored enemies which i should be able to with enhancements)?

If I remember correctly I don't think it's any more expensive than if you're level 12. Also keep in mind that you get access to a free respec in the harbor (Available at any level) and access to a shard when you hit 75 Agents of Argonessen favor.

If you're going with a ranged build you absolutely must find a way to fit Improved Crit: Ranged into your build. And yes, if you're going DEX you really need to consider adding weapon finesse for those times when you have to melee.

I think I need to clarify this: I think we'll see new chains, not the continuation of old chains.

Yeah I have the free feat respec and a few shards, unfortunately i didn't know that when you get the free feat you have to use it first, otherwise I would have left it till a later level.

I have IC: Ranged, I was looking at something like one of these three:

Deepwood Shadow Sniper (+to hit, +critical, +dmg, 50% to miss)
Point Blank Shot, Dodge, WF:Ranged, IC Ranged, IC Pierce, Dragonmark Least, Dragonmark Lesser

Deepwood Sniper (+to hit, +critical, +dmg)
Point Blank Shot, Dodge, WF:Ranged, IC Ranged, IC Pierce, Weapon Finese, Iron Will?

Shadow Marked (50% to miss, extended spells)
Dragonmark Least, Dodge, Dragonmark Lesser, Extend spell, IC Ranged, IC Pierce, Weapon Finese
