The Shroud ELITE - CR38 Pit Fiend destroyed!

We did it.. Such an utterly insane battle, but we were insane enough to do it. After ransacking most of the previous night, we just beat the whole deal, in 1 go and in record time too.

Arraetrikos was utterly insane on elite, CR38 and unmeasurable hitpoints. He hit for less damage actaully, but on elite he double hits!. 60-70 dmg x2 per swing. Combine that with his incredibly delayed blast fireballs an a near unsavable DC, and it made for an incredibly challenging battle.
To top it off - if you died, you took triple to quadruple death penalty for the single death!

We had the best of the best of Khyber in this group, and we needed every one of them to do it =)
Mostly a joint effort between The Free Companions and The Prophets of the New republic, but we also had the great quicktoezy from the elite farmers.

Loot was nice, one person got a +5 deathblock elven chainmail of lesser cold resist, lvl16 RR item, RR Elf/Drow
And we even made some insane raid loot, we pulled some ingredients together for mavnimo and he made some insane bracers.

Also some ppl got the huge favor - 33.

Suggestions to fellow bards: I have level 16 Virtuoso, Spellsinger, and Warchanter - the Warchanter is FTW here. Part 5 is near strictly a DPS fight. The dr song is nice to help the whole party against the BladeStorms but best is if everyone wears Axeblock type armor because this is a VERY long battle and you will need all of your songs to rebuff the deaths. You must keep the attack and damage songs on frontline melée at all times. Rezzed melée must be singed again immediately. The song pushes melée attack rolls high enough that melée can engage high dmg feats that normally lower their chance to hit. Escalated dmg numbers are important because how long this battle is. Constant rage & haste after song and the typical +10 to dmg bard buff per hit on our 4 melée who hit 5 times per round were adding 200 dmg per round. Factor in the fight lasted about 1800 melée rounds and the bard songs vouch for 360,000 points of damage. I highly recommend you reserve use of songs and monitor song timers.

Thankfully I was in the process of transitioning spells, so I had nothing but shocking grasp (melee range, yeah right) and lightning (evasion for the lose) to contribute, resulting in a consumption of 0 elixirs. Best raid ever!

Question though from someone who has not done past the first part of the Shroud.. Since the Quest is not repeatable at this time.. How do you guys get it at elite?.. is the mechanics different because the way the raid is made?

If you put in a ticket and wait long enough for a GM, then ask for a SENIOR GM, and then wait longer until the senior GM has time, he can reset the quest manually for you.

He seems to be immune to curse. I've hit him with one before and he doesn't even make saves against it. Couldn't tell if the immune sparklies were firing on account of the DBF spam.

We did not use any mana pots through part 4 really. In part 5 all of our clerics and arcanes were under 10 mana pots. We asked at the end of the quest, but I can't remember what the actual numbers were.

I used two in phase four (and died before I spent all of the second potion's points :mad: ), everyone else used less. Dorri was a nub and ran out of heal scrolls, though.

Phase 5, Mav used several to spam force missiles (because Axer has weak dps). I used none because he evaded lightning about 80% of the time; I shockingly grasped him once on principle, and spent the rest of the time tossing haste and stoneskin.

I think we cleaned the Qwijymart out of heal scrolls, though.

I used only one pot and that was in part 5. I only covered rage and haste past the initial buff stage and started with 1100 mana (decent for a full warchanter - IMO)

We had an awesome group and I was happy to go along.

The pit fiend has like 4 trillion hit points and I didn’t use any SP pots till the end. At the end I used 12 pots, about 250ish scrolls, 1 cure mod wand, and 1 wand of lvl 10 protection. About 2-3 SP pots were used at the very end to try to get the kill lol

No Destruction was used at all in fact I removed it from my tool bar since its right next to Comet fall on my UI.

very sorry to have missed it though :( i was with y'all farming it on sat night (dracosing here) and was hoping to do the completion, but people kept dropping from farming so long. from post time, looks like you started right after i signed off for the night sunday night. i'll have to see if i can get a group together to do it tonight cuz im concerned they may screw with it in tomorrow's update.

umm....axer was leading the group, so, yeah, barbs in and heal of course :p

We had quicktoez, axer, and myself (norg) in fighting. We had one archer (cay), although he meleed in parts 1-3. In part 4 none of the melee died. In part 5 I died enough that I had to sit out for 20% of the fight. Axer was not kidding when he said a death on part 5 is more then 1 death, but really 3. Dr makes a big difference on elite. I have axeblock now, but barbs still have 3 dr more then axeblock + they have dr boosts.. Not too forget that only a few non barb builds can really get enough hp for this job. We had more focused healing (one cleric per tank) then mass healing in part 5 whereas in part 4 it was all mass healing for the most part, but i believe that we did both and cant remember the healing part too well as I was too busy fighting. Our philosophy is to not to use mana pots if at all possible. In part 4 we used scrolls for healing.. The resources spent are such that we could justify doing 1-4 elite with that caliber of group, but from a time standpoint (the pit fiend has a ton more hp in part 4 so it takes longer to kill him then he does on normal) we could not justify it when ingredients right now are more important to this group then level 19 chests. We also are not all in the same guilds so setting up elite loot runs is problematic although we regular run with each other which is another story..
