I believe there is a rogue GM

After assisting me with tracking this, Sparker was able to help me identify and permanently solve the problem which turned out in fact to be my young son. I would like to apologize to all GM's that I accused and ask all future readers to ignore this thread.

I strongly doubt any GM is "stealing" your money. GMs have several ways that they can obtain money, none of which include taking it from players.

Please PM me with your character name and server and I will see if I can find anything in the logs relating to your currency dropping.


A few weeks ago I logged on to discover 900K plat and all of my mana pots missing from my main toon AHIRO. I petitioned and was rebuffed entirely with no recommendations or hope. I changed my password just in case and decided to not quit. I like DDO. A few days later another 20K plat (exactly) was missing. I petitioned again with the same response, and I chaged my password a second time. Today some 35K plat was missing when I logged in.

At first I thought I was the victim of a hacked password. How that would have been accomplished I do not know. This third time is enough for me to have to abandon this game. I have come to beleive however that no one has logged onto my toon, or cracked my password, as my guildies are not seeing my toon logged on when I am away. I beleive there is a rogue GM stealing from us. mostly in small amounts that we do not notice, I think they are growing more bold. I hope you are not next.

I am outraged at the lack of response or ability to track this. I've played since beta and love this game even through it's growing pains. I admit that in the few encounters with gm's I've had, I have learned not to contact them, as they are churlish and always unable to provide even a hope of one day getting assistance. This game has the worst gm's bar none. And now I feel strongly that one or more of them are destroying the game with theft. I hold this notion because I cannot bring myself to accept that my account password is getting hacked every couple of days. Why is nothing else stolen? There are three possibilities:

1) I am in error or lying to you;
2) My account is being hacked by some third party for just cash (and mana pots);
3) Something in game is rotten.

I had two more oportunities after the first big loss to monitor my cash. I am not in error. A guildie of mine incidently had dissapearing cash also within the last 30 days, so I know I am not alone.

I can no longer play this game until such time as you regain control of it, and secure my in-game assets. I recommend you investigate your own house first Turbine, or whatever company the GM's are with.

To the OP, had something similar happen a few days ago. Opened the bank and tab 2 was gone....just gone......and I started to freak. So I closed the window, left the bank, came back in, and everything was there. /whew

Don't know if it's related or not but.....I'm thinking that if you rush into a screen before the game fully loads up, you can experience "missing" items.

And if it's true, they'll find it from the logs. One of our guildees had a similar accident and though it took a couple of days, he got everything back.
