Easy. Drow sorcerer. 20 charisma, rest into con. Feats: extend, empower, maximize, spell penetration, heighten, greater spell penetration, then swap out extend for a school focus of choice.
Skill points into UMD, concentration, jump.

And still I say drow sorcerer. Charms, hypno bubbles, instant-kill spells, dps... they are all yours to exploit with a massive spell point pool. I was soloing most of the gianthold content with my sorc, all the way to elite. Don't bring a group, make your own pink hat army! Zerg through the quest and jump around at the end while dropping max/emp firewalls and have a cookout! Creep through slowly, PK/FoD/Banishment going nuts!

Would this also be a good "money maker " just max haggle?

From what I've read, yeah, the drow sorc is the way to go for soloing high level stuff. Gotta get it to max level & pick up some decent gear first, though. No character is going to be soloing high level stuff on elite without some pretty good gear. Might want to consider making a bard first (drow make good bards too), to get familiar with those quests in groups and get a great haggle score to get the cash for that great equipment the sorc will need ;)

Bard is also a good soloist, but tougher for a less experienced player to play. It's easy to make a bard your hagglebot, you get plenty of skill points. Not so easy with a sorcerer. I would save the sorc's limited skill points for concentration/UMD/ a little jump/tumble. Even so, a high charisma sorc does do ok for haggle with GH and a decent haggle item. Oh and the gear does help, but not of utmost importance with a sorc. Currently, you can find tons of useful low mid and high level stuff on the vendors and in the AH cheap. Items you want to start getting a hold of:
Potency Item: Increase the damage of your DPS spells. Usually on a simple 1-hander.
Lore Item: Wear with the potency item to increase the crit chances and damage for your DPS spells. Other hand.
Spell Penetration Item: For charming, instant killing, etc.. increases the chance of getting through a monster's spell resistance.
Charisma ring/cloak/helm: Increases the chance to land spells, and increases your sp pool. Increases are on even numbered charisma (22 charisma and 23 charisma are the same).
Wizardry, Power, magi helm/weapon/trinket/robe: Increase your sp pool. Pure sorcs get double the listed increase.
As you quest, you will start picking up tons of stuff to bling-out your sorc. Once you hit Gianthold, it's all over. You are now a killing machine. If you play aggresively enough, you will hear party comments like, "I'm gonna go AFK at the shrine while you clear this," or "I see you don't need me but thanks for bringing me along. Wow!"
