I have been thinking over this build idea for a while and would like some opinions. Some things I would like to see out of this build are a self suficent character that is capable in both melee and archery. Also I really REALLY hate how ineffective my bards are against undead so I'd like to be a real undead slayer. This is what I have so far and it isn't much.

32pt Ranger15/Wizard1

Beginning Stats :
Str 16
Dex 16
Con 14
Int 11
Wis 11
Cha 6

Maxed ranks in Hide ,Move silently, Jump, and Balance, with a splash (1) of tumble and the rest dumped into repair ( hopping it will eventually be used to repair item damage inside quests).

I really can't decide whether I want to go Arcane Archer, Tempest, or neither. I'll definately be focusing on favored enemy enhancments. Suggestions are welcome.

I would seriously look at the tempest enhancement. The reason, the docent of quickening is fairly easy to get at the AH and with it you are at 20% melee alacrity. The 10 % from the docent does not stack but this way when you don't have haste on you are only 5% less than a non tempest build with haste. So it is kind of like perma haste. I am thinking on developing a WF ranger with a lvl of barb for that very reason.

Also you might want to go one lvl of rogue instead of wiz. Unless you are wanting the extra meta magic feat for extend then I would just go rogue and bump umd to be able to umd repair wands. Since you are only going one lvl the higher lvl repair wands are going to be with a chance of failure, I believe that is the way it works.

No, wands have no fail chance if the spell is on the class's spell list. Scrolls do though which is probably what you're thinking of. Scrolls require a caster level check, not sure what the exact formula was but I'm sure it's floating around here somewhere.
