Bow or melee....

Sooo i just hit lvl 6 couple of days ago and all i keep seeing or hearing about are these melee rangers...is that like the way 2 go now and or is bow/range so underpowered..? Another question I gotta ask is did i gimp my ranger when i made him w/a base str of 8-9 and a base dex of 20? oh and his con is pretty low as well....but then again im almost always on the move.

Umm.. Gimped is a strong word, but you're definitely going to be facing some challenges that other builds won't necessarily have. There are people that can make a low str, low con ranger work, but I'm not a fan of doing it myself. I'd recommend rerolling with an 18 dex, and putting those extra points into str and con. In the long run, you'll be doing a lot more damage, and be a lot more durable.

Sorry about my choice of words didnt realize till reading it might have come off wrong....But hey thx 4 advice lemme ask you this would it make any difference if from now till max lvl i started throwing my stat points at lvl ups on str/con? and looking for of cource items that greatly increases the amount?

Oh and one more thing hehe does the "Bow Strength" Str bonus stack along w/ur dex bonus or no? If not I wouldnt think strength would be that big of a deal if all the ranger does is range :)

Your dex bonus applies to yoür "to hit" with ranged weapons. The ranger bow str feat adds your str bonus to the DAMAGE done with each shot. Not to your chance to hit. Melee is still str bonus for to hit and damage. Unless you take the finesse feat, which then applies your dex bonus to your to hit with light weapons (plus rapiers), but the damage done is still your strength bonus.
