So I've decided to dump my tactical feats and enhancements, as I'm not focued enough on them to do them well. (That and playstyle issues -- I've never really tried to use them enough to master them, just not my first thought when the mob arrives...) Currently my feat list is as follows:

[Weapon Feats] Focus, Spec, Gr Focus, Gr Spec, IC (all slash)
[Tactics] Imp Trip, Stun Blow
[Misc] CE, Toughness, Iron will, PA, Power Crit

As I switch situationally from axe-n-board + CE to 2H +PA, I'm thinking those 2 feat slots would be better used improve my damage when swinging the greataxe. However I don't know how to choose between Cleave / Great Cleave and Improved / Greater 2H Fighting. Some people seem to be a fan on one line, some the other.

I'd love to hear from 2H fighting gurus out there the advantages -- and if any, disadvantages -- of going with one line or the other. What should be the decision points of picking between these? Should I split the difference and take the first of each? (Guessing not.) Any help here appreciated as I hate to have unused feats out there, and would like regain some focus with level 15 fast approaching!

Thanks.

TC

My full Fighter, Honos, has up through GTHF and has Cleave as well. Cleave is situational, but allows for special effects (Disruption, Paralyzing, Vorpal, Smiting, Banishing) to fire off in a small area in front of you instead of on only one target.

THF adds splash damage to certain swings, IHTF adds more, GTHF more yet, and STHF even more beyond that. If you plan on using a shield more than 50% of the time, I'd grab Cleave/Great Cleave. If you plan on using a two-hander more often, THF/ITHF rock too.

I'm well under 50% at this point. When I find myself using 2H mostly is against named bosses and other hard-hitting foes such that you're gonna get hit regardless so should focus on just putting them downs as quickly as possible and healing up.

I guess if I'm mainly going 2H against single targets the THF line would be better? You do get glancing blows even against a single target, right? Even though that's always seemed a little counter-intuitive to me...

Yeah, you do get splash damage vs single targets.
