Question about the dragon raid

Usually when I play, I have a 10-month old son who likes to "help daddy play" lol. Anyway last night during VON 6 my son hit teh power switch on my PC, DC'ing me and putting me (one of the clerics) outside of the quest.
Because this has happened to almost everyone of us at some point, running off the bridge/DC'ed whatever, my question is this. Is There any merit to one person in the party staying in VON5 and holding the instance while the pillars are being worked and stepping in when it's time to fight the dragon?

Once you activate Arach's Knight in VON5, you cannot get back to the party if you DD/recall/do anything like that. A barrier appears preventing reentry.

Anyway on Von 6, once you have fallen off you can't get back in. If you are dc'ed and placed outside of quest you can't get back in either.

Once you have done EVERY step in Von5 and you activate the knight, the door behind him closes which doesn't allow anyone to enter Von6 who wasn't there for the COMPLETION of Von5. This is all I am going to say on the matter. ;)

If you legitamitly DC (ie client error) in von 6, you will appear back in von6 IF AND ONLY IF everyone else hasnt recalled (finished out) from the dragon area itself

Actually if it is a legimite DC you are still SOL. I was in the Titan raid - and we were at the last flayer waiting for everyone to take their AFKs - my computer went haywire and shut off - well when I booted back up and got back in the game - I was outside the quest and the barrier was up - comp died right after the flayer was killed. So i wasnt able to continue on. needless to say i wasnt pkeased

That's because the Twilight Forge reset after everyone else zoned into the Titan instance.
In the case of the VoNs, the same problem will occur if you disconnect in VoN5, but if it's in VoN6 you won't be booted out of the instance (unless the party recalled out after finishing the raid of course).

Hi Shir.... Yeah that sucked but dont worry cause there are more runs that can be done... It was still great running with you and hope we can do it again.
