What is the most types of damage you've done on one hit?

I was goofing around the other day and was trying to see how many different types of damage I could deal with one hit:

I was using a +1 Axiomatic Longbow of Greater Orc Bane with Holy arrows. In addition, I have six levels of rogue, so I have backstabbing damage, too.

The damage lit up for five total types of damage: 1 each for physical, lawful, backstab, holy, and orc bane looking something like:


10 + 6 + 8 + 4 + 10

Is that the most, or can you get six?

So far I think a single weapon caps out at 3 weapon damage effects (then you can factor in physical damage and sneak attack damage). If there is a weapon combination that can produce 4 or more different types of damage effects then it is possible to make longer strings of damage text hover over monsters.

well... if you go with a flaming burst of pure good bow with holy arrows and crit

phys+flaming+pure good+holy+burst+sneak attack

now if they have bursting arrows you can take that a step further though the same types don't stack. so

take my +4 Shocking Burst Longbow of Pure Good and add to it +1 Flaming Burst Arrows

and you could get 7 numbers... for even more fuin assume the full arrow progression

at later levels

+5 Shocking Burst of Pure Good and +1 Icy Burst of Maiming arrows

now if like a long ago post said they were contemplating how to change the item construction to eliminate the Prefix Suffix thingy then we could get some really hard core numbers up ther

+5 Thundering Flaming Burst Composite Longbow of Shocking Burst with +1 Maiming Axiomatic Burst Arrows of Holy Burst... then we just see aweful aweful things happening to bad guys :D of course that would be awefully expensive for the poor bow user

physical 32 +shocking 5+shocking burst 10+pure good 4 = 51 on average (sometimes more, sometimes less)



If I had a rogue level I might get 1 more die

those numbers go up or down by 20 pts depending, if I only had a bloodstone

For non ranged damage try Retribution:+1 base, Holy, true law, pure good. If you get sneek attack, it could get ugly. But that would just be wrong on so many levels. Now all I need to do is run Threnal until I can get another to duel wield after Mod 6 on my Shadowblade.

A critical hit with Storm: base damage + shock + shocking burst + thundering + flame bolt (add sneak attack on there for rogues)

I see strings of five numbers all the time with that crossbow, rogues would see six.

I see strings of five numbers all the time with that crossbow, rogues would see six.IIRC, Backstabbing shows as a single number at the end. So, add the Goggles of Intuition or any other non-weapon backstabbing item and a Rogue could see 7 numbers wielding Storm. :)

Ive only held retribution twice but as I remember it its only lawful & good. Holy would be awesome, but sadly it is not.

Unless they recently changed it is a True Law, Holy, Pure Good Weapon.

Not different damage bonuses but 1453 points of damage from a Cone of Cold~!

Ignoring unique bows, for a critical you should get:

bow base
bow prefix
bow prefix burst
bow suffix
arrow prefix (assuming different from bow prefix)
sneak attack

So 6.

I've never seen an arrow with both a prefix and a suffix (flaming arrows of elemental bane, for example), but if you had them, that would add another:

arrow suffix

I've also never seen an arrow with a "burst" prefix, but if that also existed, you'd get

arrow prefix burst


for a grand total of 8.


With specialized bows, with multiple prefixes and/or suffixes, you'll get more.

I pulled mine 2 weeks ago. It is Holy, True Law, and Pure Good. I see 4 different numbers or numbers and one or more immunes.
