I've been messing with the idea of a Wizard/Rogue/Fighter TWF combo and posted a couple of builds in the wizard forum. This is what I am going to end up going with. The basic idea is that of a Ninja type build with the following characteristics:

Goals:
TWF
Solid damage via sneak attack
Mystical abilities (from spells) that allow for things like invisibility, displacement, cloud type spells
Solid spell DC for AOE CC spells

So the basic idea is a rogue with mystical abilities that allow for blinding, confusing, charming enemies, and the ability to sneak disappear sort of like a Ninja!

Str 10 (18=10 +6 Item +2 Rage)
Dex 18 (28=18 +1 Tome +3 Enh. +6 Item)

The final level split will be Wizard 11/Rogue 7/Fighter 2. This allows for GTWF at level 19 (Wizard 11/Rogue 6/Fighter 2) which meets the BAB +11 requirement.

Final to-hit/damage should work out quite well with sneak attack.

To Hit:
BAB 12
Dex 9
GH 4
Weapon 5
Haste 1
Racial 2
TWF -2
+31 (39 w/ Divine Power)

Damage:
Str 4
Racial 2
Sneak 25
Weapon 5
+36/34

So you are looking at GTWF with improved critical piercing, with really solid to-hit and damage while sneak attacking with something like Treason in the off hand.

Against mobs that you can sneak attack:

The basic idea is to use heighten/quickened glitterdust (DC 28) and cloudkill to blind mobs and allow for constant sneak attack and improved defense. With glitterdust, stoneskin, displacement, and sneak attacks mobs should fall quickly and do little damage. The main weapons here are a puncturing rapier and treason or a good backstabbing weapon in the off hand.

Undead:

Firewall/Fireball and effects type weapons.

Anything else:

Effects weapons plus spell damage.

My only question/comment would be the fighter level.

The more refined version of what it looks like your building is a wiz14/rog2

If you really want the sneak attack bonus you get it at odd levels thus wiz11/rog5

I understand you are trying to make a ninja type so I wont poke holes and say oh you'd be better of if........

but the fighter level just for weapon finesse at level 2 as opposed to level 4 is not worth the loss of the xtra sneak attack bonus you will
get at rog 5 also the skill point you can add to UMD with 5 levels of rog will let you use a wider range of scrolls (heal) wands and such

If you really want a 3rd class Id suggest bard over fighter....... fascinate your enemies and do as you will to them.

BAB eventually, I wanted GTWF by level 20, that is why the fighter levels are in there. Eventually the 7 levels of rogue really gets nice sneak attack damage and I will be TWF most of the time for damage output. The numbers work out quite well with glitterdust and constant sneak attacks. See post #2 for level 20 build details.

I really don't want a trap monkey wizard, which is what I started out with when I was trying to make this build. Don't get me wrong a warforged Wizard 14/Rogue 2 are very strong builds. As a caster it is no comparison a build like that would be much stronger.

I wanted to have more skills than just traps, and also take more advantage of sneak attacks and build more of a stealthy arcane rogue type build. Ignorning the class break down if you look at the final numbers without knowing how I got there they are very viable.

As a caster you get a lot of nice buffs and good DC crowd control spells. Spells like glitterdust do not make SR checks so in that respect with a 28 DC I am a very solid caster as well. I can also drop a maximized fireball/firewall on occasion as well. It should be a fun, versatile, and effective character. I am level 3 at the moment so time will tell!

Rather than comparing the build to a pure caster, or even a caster with two rogue levels, a better comparison is to a rogue. That will be more of how I will play, but with a few more tricks up the sleeve.

Compared to a pure rogue sneak attack damage will be less of course, and you will have fewer skill points. I traded that for ~1000 spell points and many useful extended buffs and 28 DC CC spells and a few solid damage spells. If you consider though that I can get constant sneak attacks with no fear of agro, and also while soloing it is a pretty neat build in my opinion.
