Which, in your opinion, would be better for a Halfling cleric to have: Dragonmarks or the Mental Toughness/Improved Mental Toughness set? Why?

So, should I dump my extra turns for the Mental Toughness and then take Improved at lvl9?

My halfling medic will have all the halfling dragonmarks since you can get more SP from them than from the mental toughness feats.
But at level 20 I should have all of them....

I recently did this with my Halfling Paladin (Cleric is Disguise) Best choice I've ever made!

Definitely the Marks buddy.
You'll have so much enhancements that the marks are gonna take advantage of (healing enhancements, Empower healing feat, healing lore, etc..), in the end you'll have a few hundreds Hps of free heals while you'll be able to use your mana for offense or buffing. MT and IMT is definitely not worth it for a halfling cleric, not before you,re higher level and that's you,ve no idea what to choose :D
For a Cleric Halfling lvl 14, your 5 feats should ideally be: extend, empower healing and the 3 marks.

I would suggest the Dragonmarks are much more powerful to have than MT/IMT.
1) They provide more Healing than the SP lost from not taking MT/IMT (145 SP, If I remember right) (9xCLW = 90, 8xCSW=160, 6x Heal=180, Total =430 SP worth of Healing)
2) They can be Max+EmpH for Free (9x Max+EmpH CLW = 405, 8x Max+EmpH CSW=440, 6x Max+EmpH Heal=380, Total=1235 SP worth of Healing)
3) Yes, the MT/IMT SP can be used for other spells, but with 430-1235 SP of "Free" Healing, that leaves your base SP for "Other" Spells as well!

I have a halfling cleric I took the marks and love em. Instead of extend I took maximize to make the marks hit higher and bring a bit more offense when needed. When cap increases definatly taking extend though.

yep and at lvl 9 the best thing was getting rid of them one by one with real feats once i had enough umd to use heal scrolls

Not a UMD Build unfortunately, He's an effective fighter with great saves, excellent damage to undead, and hidden healing abilities. The nice thing is I don't have to waste the few precious sp I have healing, I can use them to buff myself or others if I choose too.

Yep he convinced me to switch up for the Dragon marks on my cleric I have had for a year and a half and it was probably the best change I have made.
Man.
Does anyone remember when the DragonMarks were coming out, all the derision that was being heaped on them? Things like:
"Yah, you noobz wear your DMs with pride so we can tell who you are!!!!!!11!!!! We'll know who the GIMPS are!! Har har har har!"
Now it's commonly accepted that the Halfing DragonMarks of healing are one of the most powerful items in a character design possible.
What idiots those people were.
