I have played this game avidly since it's release (except for a short break after I had my first child). Those of you that know me, know me...I don't screw around. I am horribly impatient and overly egotistical. I was labeled a zerger almost from the inception of this game. I know 98% of the quests in this game backwards and forwards. I often laugh at myself late at night when I am running to or through a quest half-asleep and still end up and the correct destination. [eaten by cube]. I would like to say I have eight maxed out toons but I really just never saw the need (other than boredom...and I have to be pretty bored to play a newbie). Nowadays, I rarely play a quest with a PUG that I can't solo and there aren't many quests in the game that I can't solo. The only reason I usually even do it is to help out and boost my ego by hearing them say something like "Wow, you are awesome. Thank you for soloing that for us.".


So why the long explanation about myself...I am interested in finding other people on this server that fit the profile of an elitist and I am interested in hearing other people tout themselves. AND, I guess there is a small peice of me that wants to encourage other posters to flame this thread ;)

So here are some basic questions to start off with:

1. Currently Samadhi, Nixole, Trypt, Raini, Prajna, Domi, Mantravah, Latiki, Jie, and Lunae.

2. Probably excellent key-mapping and the twitch skills to use it properly. Either that, or an inventive mind for where/how to skip fighting mobs to get to the chest faster.

3. Either a) currently 10 capped characters; and 4 more capped toons that have been deleted (RIP Lysergic, Hash, Jilla, Klista) or b) getting three characters to 1750 favor, one of which was a 32 point build, in 9 weeks - directly after the release of the desert (i.e. before gianthold, etc.)

Amusingly, I do still PUG. Usually only for the Reaver - but occasionally for other stuff. Why? Just because, if they can keep up, even minimal assistance will get the job done sooner than none. If they can't, they will probably drop from my group anyhow, and maybe the next person can keep up!! Naturally, though, if I have one fellow zerger on... two is more than enough.

( Personally, I've only seen a handful of players I would call elite. If you can run an unknown quest of your level alone and kill everything, break everything & do all optionals, then , yes you are elite. If not...then it is just tooting one's own horn.)

I was the first max lvl (lvl 10) sorcerer on fernia. I also had the first skull fetish mask on fernia. Ive been playing this game since early closed beta (I remember when every icon for every item in the game was an exclamation point and you had to curser over it to see what it was).

I dont consider myself elitist..i think im just barely above average...

What exactly was it that makes you elitist again OP? I see a post saying you think you are egotistical and a zerger and that you like to solo, but none of those have anything to do with you being a good player. I must have missed the part about what you had done that made you think you were good enough to start a thread such as this.

Besides for the fact that you actually used the word "1337" in a non-joking maner..that just puts you in the group of leet gamer kids many of us have been making fun of since 1999=X <<you said "a small peice of me that wants to encourage other posters to flame this thread ;)"...so there you go leet gamer kid :D

It was humor to some degree and I can guarantee he is not a kid. Not even close. It is interesting that you actually answer the questions in the first part of your post and then flame his reasons to post it. Freud would have had a field day with you I think. Even if he did ask for the flames.

I solo Velah after the pillars went down, solo dq, solo reaver, short manned these quests dozens of times, and with soloed most quests in the game. I was in the 4th guild to defeat the aboot on Thelanis and I was a contributor in the raid. I have favor capped toons minus the abbot raid. I had the first white dragon scale robe in Xoriat, along with another ranger we got ours roughly the same week. One of the first whites around. One of the first players to own a Fanion, and a docent of flame, had the docent of defiance before the hidden effect was noted on the forums static reward thread, deleted many capped toons. Ran the **** out of the TOR, made kill counts agains the some decent but famed players around. I rarely die and am well known in tavern brawls.


On that note, lemme tell you, i would never start a lame thread like this, or post lame accomplishments or loot in my bio. Whomever needs to toot their own horn or have people do it for them needs to be quite and keep it to themselves because there are always more accomplished players out there who look down on your bio, and I look down on it.

It's more elitist to say nothing at all. Trust me. :cool:

I've been playing since the september before the game was released. I keep myself busy enjoying the game by making gimped characters and then trying to make them work. But I don't have the mind set to play the way that the those who I consider the best players on Ghal (some who are on that original list of 6) do. i'm not gonna stroke the egos of those who are already big enough to fill entire raid groups, but in all honesty in this time in my game play if i can't get in a guild group, I rather solo then pug. Lot of this is just from people interaction and who's voices or chat I rather be listening to then actual game play.

In the end, though, I guess I'm becoming an elitess and it makes me rather sad. There was a time that I only pugged, taught, guided and now...

If it was agreed upon that raid loot would be rolled for than that's one thing but other than that folks can do what they want with their loot. I love flamers and trolls and whatever other terms they go by. I think it is sad that we have to have forum police to stop it from happening. I'm a big boy and I think I can take it. It's unfortunate that not everyone else can not handle it so well.

If you haven't noticed, humility is not my most admirable trait. Don't get me wrong, I commend those who can wait for fame to come to them but I relish in those who declare their own. I am that guy who will say he is better than everyone else and then always get proven wrong and shown-up by someone else and sadly I enjoy it. Prove to me that you are better...I gaurantee that I'll make you work for it.

One other comment, I always find it funny when people say "It's just a game" and then they procede to mock someone for claiming to be good at a "video game" as if it were put down. To some I think this is true, to me this could not be further from the truth. This game and other games like this are my hobbies, just like any other hobby such as skiing, riding motor cycles, working out, etc, etc. I wouldn't put someone down because they claimed to be good at any of those other hobbies. Also, if this is "just a game" then there is a chance that you have not established the relationships I have with other people in this which is the defining factor which makes it so much more than "just a game." I know every one of my guildies by first name, how many kids they have, how old their kids are, what they do for a living, etc, etc.

Edit: Yes, this thread was meant to be tongue and cheek. But I have enjoyed everyone's responses whether they were funny, serious, angry, whatever. Life is too short to take things too seriously, after all..."it's just a game". :)

I never take myself seriously and spend most my time around thsi joint laughing at posts, the funny ones, the wimpy little ***** assed ones, the crying ones, etc etc.... I laugh at them all, then I pick my areas and shake the bee hive :)

Sonyaa was one of the toons that when I ran Velah with (he needed a rogue :rolleyes:) I think that I didn't do a **** bit of melee, I was just watching the dude cut down mobs by the dozens with my jaw dropped open. Truely one of the more original DPS Barbs out there. Didn't take too much healing if I remember right also ;)
Anyways, don't consider any of my toons leet/uber but love to run with the ubers because they just make me smile. So here's to you all leet MF's and thanks for posting this Sonyaa. One to see that you are indeed still active/alive, two to see that you can still provoke the hell out of people :D, and three, to make it easy for me to read about others that can beat you in a kill count lol.

I have played this game avidly since it's release (except for a short break after I had my first child). Those of you that know me, know me...I don't screw around. I am horribly impatient and overly egotistical. I was labeled a zerger almost from the inception of this game. I know 98% of the quests in this game backwards and forwards. I often laugh at myself late at night when I am running to or through a quest half-asleep and still end up and the correct destination. [eaten by cube]. I would like to say I have eight maxed out toons but I really just never saw the need (other than boredom...and I have to be pretty bored to play a newbie). Nowadays, I rarely play a quest with a PUG that I can't solo and there aren't many quests in the game that I can't solo. The only reason I usually even do it is to help out and boost my ego by hearing them say something like "Wow, you are awesome. Thank you for soloing that for us.".


So why the long explanation about myself...I am interested in finding other people on this server that fit the profile of an elitist and I am interested in hearing other people tout themselves. AND, I guess there is a small peice of me that wants to encourage other posters to flame this thread ;)

So here are some basic questions to start off with:
1. Who are you?
2. What makes you so 1337 (l33t, elite, etc)?
3. What is your biggest accomplishment in the game to-date?

BTW, if you don't fit the profile and feel less than...keep PUG'ing and some day you too might become a Jedi-gamer.

I was the first max lvl (lvl 10) sorcerer on fernia. I also had the first skull fetish mask on fernia. Ive been playing this game since early closed beta (I remember when every icon for every item in the game was an exclamation point and you had to curser over it to see what it was).

1. I'm a D&D geek, but my in-game toons are Airie, Hrulgin, Airi, Erri, Genuine, Intelligent, & others.

2. Wow, where to begin. Been in the game since day 1, so I wouldn't brag that I know nearly every quest like the back of my hand cause that's not much of an accomplishment after 2 years. I could go on about being *among* the first dragon, titan, & queen slayers on Fernia, the numbers of times I have completed the doable raids would shock most people, and how well my old guild perfected those raids was very respectable, the amount of raid loot and high-end gear and plat and toys I have could probably purchase the Twelve a couple times over, but I do think the things that make me l33t are using mouse-look 100% of the time with excellent key-bindings & fast-twitch FPS style play, building excellent PvE characters that tend to keep raid parties alive, and having a nice graphics card so I can run in widescreen hi-res with graphic mode on max. droool eye-candy.

3. My biggest DDO accomplishment to date is that I have accomplished what I have, and most of you don't know who I am since I'm not a braggart and am *almost* always low-key when I'm a guest in another raid group.

I don't buy the l33t-ness anymore, if you don't even have 6 hotbars! One reason I'm not elite is that I try to make use out of 10 hotbars on all my characters, and often forget to use the hotkey that I put there for a reason... :D

Not uber, but one thing to brag about. Joined an allied guild pug dragon raid, watched as all the other tanks went down while I was still clicking away on Velah elite. With clerics working on me, I was able to take her down. I know- not too impressive...

...BUT I was putting a diaper on my 2-year old with my other hand after he ran out of his bath with mommy. And I got the dragon belt as a gift from the group for the heroics (but little Daniel didn't give me anything but a laugh as he ran off and got BACK in the tub with mommy with his new diaper on).

baddest caster - bornwinter ( hands down )
melee ( maui/aztar ) and very modest
rogue ( proly godmodez and nunurbiz neck and neck )
ranger ( farshot/venox/preylor) those guys were better killers than most tanks ( brooknice gets an honoroble mention here, although hes a shooter)


AND OF COURSE my WF bard/barian RICK FLAIR ... he soloed TS when the cap was at 10 by holding his breath in the lava and everything just died ( he was lvl 3 ) ... did i mention he got a vorpal tome as a reward? guard branson is my father. ive been playing this game since before gary gygax invented DnD.
