The best wife ever (mine of course), got me a new mouse and because of the 2 munchkins always asking me why why why when i play a set of Headphones to drown out the kiddies. The help i require is this, The headphones are from Sector 7 Extreme gaming USB5.1 Surround Sound/ communication Headset. I can hear fine. I can actually hear everything now. However the microphone portion does not seem to work. I can tap the mike with my finder during the mic test in the game and see results. I know that the settings in the game are correct ( perhaps, worked with my old mic), but for some reason or another, I can hear but no speak.

Any suggestions?

My wife did get jewellery and a very expensice I-pod for her gifts, so shes covered.

Check in your audio control panel in Windows to make sure the recording device is set to the USB headset.

Also see if you have a Mic Boost option, sometimes the level is just too low without it.

- Make sure hands free is checked in DDO audio options

- Make sure capture threshold is high enough in DDO audio options

- Make sure recording device is correct in DDO audio options

- Make sure the gain is set high enough in DDO audio options

- Make sure mic is not muted under advanced options in WINDOWS audio options

That's all I can think of right now...
