Warchanting

I think I'm really going to like being a warchanter. Was in a group one of my first since taking the enhancement. The guy says after I play the rage song, "Oh my god, I love you. That put my damage up so high". I sometimes get that reaction from my cleric when she's kept the party up after tough fight, but not my bard. This could be a lot of fun. Its going to become the new and improved fighter crack. Just wait til I can take haste - they'll never let me leave the party.

The "rage song" I assume is actually the DR song (icon is similar). Doesn't help your parties damage output, it offers DR/5. I'm guessing you sung Inspire Courage as well...can't blame a non-bard for not knowing, but the bard should know - so I'm just clarifying for ya.

My personal experience is that parties don't fully appreciate Ironskin (at least in comparison with GH, IC, IG, Haste, etc)...even clerics/healers. So I wouldn't call it the "new and improved fighter crack" -- it's pretty underappreciated imo.

I believe she is referring to the Warchanter's amazingly high Inspire Courage. I have to agree, even when I'm on my sorcerer I'm am tempted to at least throw a few throwing daggers just so I can grin at the damage output. There is no disputing how awesome bards are. :)

I mentioned the IC now (for the real buff to damage), I just reflected on the general confusion about the IS icon. I actually had a caster get mad at me for "casting rage on them" once.

The majority of melee's don't know the difference between a +5 or +7 IC anyway though, so I'd argue that's vaguely underappreciated as well. They still come running when the lute starts up but the majority of em have no clue what buff they or getting.
