Yeah, there was a narrow window where the Abbot wasn't as hard as he is now.

I joined a PUG expecting to have a genuine go at the Abbot - they tell me to die and watch the rangers kill him with the old exploit.

Abbot hard/elite is, IMO, impossible now. Normal might be completable, but I can never get a group together to practice it.

I'm at 2418 with my original very first character I ever made...the one in my sig....28pt. elf. Congratz to you and thanks for answering my question as to whether there is over 2500 favor at this point. BTW...if you happen to be on Argo I would do the Abbott with you as soon as I finish the other three in the pre-raid. Have only done the vampire so far.

Getting a group for the other 3 preraid sides isn't usually tough. Stay away from elite difficulty on Cholthuzz tho, he's very hard when you can't return if you wipe.

For the other two, run them on elite and put up an LFM that reads something like "Preraid loot runs: +2 tome farming, Cinnis wing". As the only quests in the game that can drop +2 unbound tomes are the Reaver raid elite and the preraid elite (Abbot hard/elite don't count), this is players' best chance to find one.

As you can see from my Sig, I am horribly jealous. I didn't bother to get to the raid until it was too late. My cleric has yet ot complete the Abbot at all, but that is the only quest. Once I realized it was going to be virtually undoable for the forseeable future, I haven't really tried overly to cap my other 4 toons that are within striking distance. It wouldn't bother me so much if there wasn't that time when people could get it done on hard/elite. I could live with the fact that you just aren't going to get the quest done, kinda like the titan or Threnal East 3 for a time, but I don't even see them making an attempt to make it possible to do it on elite. All I see is more reasons not to try when the death penalties are changed for MOD 6. I will still work my way to having 5 almost favor capped toons in hopes the devs might one day find a way for the quest to be attempted on elite with some hopes of finding a group willing to try inspite of the drastic penalties.

PS I am still hoping to stumble into a Pre MOD 6 normal completion.

I am very much looking forward to battling the three remaining pre-raids bosses and finally seeing the inside of the new raid. Aside from Zawabi's Revenge, those are the only quests I have not touched.

The favor does nothing past 1750. But it was fun to see every quest in the game including the obscure ones.

The last one I got was the Titan preraid, The Twilight Forge, as almost everyone just exploits it to skip to the titan.

So true. Hated that quest until I ran a completion elite run where people had to figure it out as we went.

That was fun.
