My Husband was trying to bid on tapestries on the auction, and found that he had no money suddenly. After checking, it shows he placed a bid for 1,050,000 on 2 copper festival coins. Obviously, this isn't a bid that anyone would intentionally place, but there's no way to cancel the bid in game. There's also no way to request in game assistance, as the 'new ticket' page is broken.

Could someone on the GM side please cancel this bid? PM for details on server/char name.

Well, at this point, the auction has ended. No response from support here on the forums. He tried for several hours to submit requests last night for in game help, but that system seemed to be broken throughout the night. There goes a million gold.

ETA -- Looks like the in game support is still broken. Tried to submit a ticket this AM for a spam issue, and as soon as you click submit, the whole pane goes white and doesn't come back. Same issue as last night.

Must be a blocker or something on your web browser (I've heard it is linked to that somehow) I have no issue getting to support.

I've seen it brought up before. I have never seen a bid given back. What server are you on? Maybe someone will send something to you to help make it up. At higher lvls, PP is not a big issue.

I can't say I've ever had more than about 2m gold at a time. In this case, he had about 1.2m, so the 1m took most all he had.

I'm not sure how that would affect it, the 'New ticket' page loaded fine, but when you go to submit, it fails. Might be something related, but I know it was working fine just a few days ago.

As far as I can see there are no problems with submitting help requests, you may want to contact our tech support department at support.turbine.com to see if they can help figure out what is causing that for you.

I'm afraid there is no way to cancel a bid once you make one and GMs can not cancel bids for players. Sorry your husband had problems with the Auction House.

Yes, the ticket system seems to be working fine now. We were just able to put one through on the same PC.

Perhaps someone could look into how the bid came to be placed? He's fairly sure he didn't place the bid, so is it possibly either a glitch on the AH or lag related?

Though, when he clicked to close the ticket, it again blanked out to a white window in the help window, and didn't actually close the request. A support person just finished explaining that there's nothing they can do. In this case, a day after the fact, I expected that, but it does seem like a rather standard answer from in game support. :(

I think the layout of the AH dialog is to blame.

The 'BID' button and the 'Next' button are very similar in size and location.

The fact that the amounts in the 'Bid' edit are retained over different searches is also a problem. A new search/page should clear the 'Bid' amount.

I have not been willing to find out what happens if I click 'Bid' with no item selected, but with a large enough amount in the Bid edit to buy any item displayed.

Add in the lag and you can easily make a mistake.

Mistakes are not Turbine's responsibility....

(I would not allow that dialog in any application my team released, but real assets are on the line in our apps).

These guys seem to never be able to do anything. the tech department is a mith. Send them multiple emails and never get a response. But no matter the situation they pop up and say oh theres nothing that can be done at this time. it's a joke and a waist of every ones time. Sorry he had to loose his money
