Hi, my gf and I have started playing this again, and she rolled a barbarian. I have basically used Shades build as a bit of a guide to make a dps barbarian for her(obviously lacking 32pts, gear, etc).

However, she didn't like dwarfs; for aesthetic reasons, and so we created a human. This means that she has power attack and THF at level one, and we chose WF: slashing at level three, which on retrospect seems a little worthless?

My question: should she swap the WF for heavy armour proficiency? (she has 14 dex currently), or maybe toughness. I thought heavy arnour would probably add to her overall survivability at low levels(until her dex maxs out for medium armour).

Thanks for any imput.

I'd say take Toughness. That's an extra 68 hit points at level 16, if you take the enhancements too.

Pumping that Dex to 16 shouldn't be a problem, and a 16 Dex will fill a Mithral Full Plate just nicely :)

I'd stay stunning blow, definitely. As long as she does not mind regular weapon switching (though you can use it without a weighted weapon, using one is really what makes the difference: typical attack sequence is swing, sunder, stunning blow, switch to seeker heavy pick of puncturing ;) although you can probably live with a weighted maul and its x3 crit to avoid the last weapon switch).

Being human I would go with in this Order. TwoHanded Fighting, Stunning Blow, Power Attack, Improved 2 Hand Fighting, Improved Crit Slashing, Greater 2 hand fighting.

cheers guys,

i think the toughness feat will be the best option, at least until she has mastered combat.

thanks
