Attention all heroes and citizens of Stormreach!

It appears that your diligence has proven fruitful: while +Tchurvul has escaped to unknown regions, +Derneal and his remaining troops have been defeated by the efforts of the many brave adventurers who protect our city daily. We have every reason to believe that +Tchurvul the Vulture’s threat has ended for the time being!

The bards of Stormreach have asked me to have you post your experiences here so they may enter them into the journals of Stormreaches vast histories.

Lol, poor Derneal. Kept falling down all over the place. Might have been all those comets hitting the floor.:D

Now if I could just pry off that bound sticker on that robe, I'd give it to my caster.

(General): [Manards] (Combat): You killed +Derneal. That was the scene today at the wayward lobster when +Derneal was apprehended during one of his appearances. But is this really the end of his rampant tyranny? Only time will tell, and also who were the strange "soldiers" that were with +Derneal? We Khyberians must continue to look into this matter and be prepared for the worst.

Wish I could have joined in the fun, but alas us ppl on the other side of the globe need to sleep some time. Is it possible to have an event like this during a time where us non-US players get a chance to have some fun and grab some of this sweet loot that dropped?

Awesome Turbine so the raid is broken and people cant upgrade their necklaces ( except those of us who beat him down before it was wrecked) and now you give out that kind of high end loot to pvp in an event that noone knows about. Why try and accomplish things in this game when any one who can cast a cometfall and happens to be in a tavern can ninja loot items that noone else has on the server. This disappoints me. Give away good stuff, but it should not be prestige items that few others have earned. Next time make them unique items that denote the pvp accomplishment, make them as powerful or valuable as all get out. But please dont diminish the accomplishments of others by giving out what in essence is free raid loot for a cometfall that landed.

I agree with Jondallar, Thanks for basterdizing peoples real accomplishments. This is just as dumb when you gave out the house D collectibles in stacks of 100 for the scavenger hunt, then made all existing versions become fake when ya added in the collectors so that the people who had legit ones were screwed. Your event staff has definitely failed so far when it comes to rewards.

Lemme get this straight... If you happened to be in PVP that day you could just randomly walk up and pick up a piece of armor that could only otherwise be acquired by completing the entire Necropolis series, the entire Orchard of Macabre, Abbott pre-raid and abbott raid? Wow, I guess I'll stop wasting my time trying to achieve anything, and just make a point to hang out in PVP, and attending these live events. Who's brainchild was that idea, eh?

The robe and the helmet are bound so more than likely anyone who got the random stuff couldn't use it and can't sell it for anything except list value.

My cleric is probably just gonna walk around in it sometimes to look snazzy and to infiltrate the Emerald Claw so she can strike them down with the Righteous Fury of the Silver Flame (aka a cometfall)!

Also, who would lose that cool necklace for the end reward anyway? (well, a Magi 6 cloak is tempting...)

Anyway, Happy Festivus everyone! Hope you don't get a lot of coal in your stocking! (or mebbe a little for a choice few, hehe)

Gratz to those who played, and gratz to those who got something.

As a counter point to what a few have said, I am glad to see some real rewards for doing this, as it is just as valid a way to spend your time as any other. Having joined in on server events in the past, and been disapointed at the quality of the rewards, this is nice upswing. I did not even bother with this event, based on past rewards and this will at least make me consider it in the future.

Regards,

The fact that you will simply wear the items around town is the issue, in a game where individuality is very difficult, it is rare items such as these which are a way (pretty much the only way) for players to "look" unique. The event planners should have made different items, or given them at the very least different skins to differentiate from different acheivements.

Individuality, yeah I got ya. I have bought multiple fearsome armors on the AH to see which one looks good on my cleric, so I'm with ya there. I think unfortunately that incorporating the skin for a small event as this might be a little more trouble than it's worth. I'd rather them be fixing bugs or createing new content than coding a couple robes or stuff.

Now, obviously I don't have the same "problem" with them using the Emerald Claw stuff (well, I got it and you didn't so I am biased, hehe). I kinda see it as a looting Derveal's corpse kinda thing. Very Pen-and-Paperish if ya ask me.

Oh and the cometfalls stopped after the loot dropped, no Ninja loots on Argo. Shame on you Murderface! You're alignment will be changed to Chaotic Evil! =) =)

If this game were actually a competition as you seem to believe it to be, then your claim that this "diminishes" others' accomplishments would hold water. As it is, this sounds more like petty jealousy.

And no, I wasn't there when it happened; this is the first I heard of it. Am I at all upset that these people got something I didn't get a shot at? Nope. Not at all. Good for them and their luck in being in the right place at the right time.

You obviously don't understand what it is like to work very hard to achieve something, get rewarded for the achievement, and then finding out that someone else was rewarded equally for doing nothing more then being in the right place at the right time.

Also I never knew wanting accomplishments to actually mean something was jealousy.

I just don't think after Derneal was defeated he should has dropped items that are only otherwise attainable by defeating the black abbot raid. Why couldn't he have dropped more of Tchurkvul's kukris or those stupid helms of mystery? Or maybe something like Derneal's vestment that looked like emerald claw armor. It was a bad choice by the event planners to do this and some people are letting them know that.

Do +Sir at the inevitable demise of +Tchurkvul do not give out raid loot.

Am I one of the few people out here that actually realizes that we are playing a video game? Sheeesh. Personally it's nice that worthwile items actually dropped from a live event for a change, and no I wasn't there either.

Buddy, if this weren't just a GAME, if the "achievements" here actually MEANT something, then I'd be fully supportive of your stance. If you're tying so much of your self-worth up in in-game "achievements" that you get THIS upset by people getting an arrangement of electrons, then this isn't something that can be cured by GMs giving stuff away or not.

Just me but, cannot that be construed as griefing the other players you cometfalled ? Especially if you were across the room and wouldn't let anyone near him?
