I just want to thank the players that have been helping Mythe, my newbie helper.
As some of you Riedrans know, Mythe was the newbie helper on Riedra from March 06 'till the merge into Khyber. At that time I retired her due to the costs that were being incurred. While we were Riedra many guilds and players sent her equipment and plat to help aid newcomers to game and offset costs. Every bit of help at that time was greatly appreciated. Once the merge occured however that all stopped and my main was unable to keep up with the costs, well that and a few idiots were harassing Mythe non stop.
Recently in another thread I thanked Baelketh for being a friend to Mythe. I guess this caught the eye of a few of you so I pulled Mythe out of retirement and gave her another try about 4-5 days ago. I am pleased to say that the response has been fantastic and as such Mythe will be around for a long time to come.
I wish to thank all of you from Riedra who helped Mythe pre-merge. I would especially like to thank those who have been helping her this last week. Special thanks go to Kingzero and Qwijy.
KingZero the UWA item you sent went to a brand new player who was a previous Dnd pen and paper player who recently left WOW. I explained some of the game mechanics to him last night and gave him a tour around. He will be a very nice addition to our world. Thanks very much for the items you sent. Mythe can buy min level 1 equipment and potions easily but I am unable to buy trinkets and UWA. The items you sent really helped. :)
Extra Speical thanks to Qwijy. He has decided to sponsor Mythe on her endeavers and has this week alone aided Mythe in helping at least 2 dozen players, many of them new, a couple of founders returning after more than a year and a few players moving over from another world to try Khyber. Qwijy, I also wish to thank you for adding to our community. Your little business has made Khyber seem more like a real town. You have been profiting of course, BUT you are also sponsoring events and aiding the little guy. You are definitely adding to the sense of community that is developing on Khyber. Thank you! :)
For the curious, Mythe attempts to be online at least 1-2 hours per day usually around 9-10 pm est. She also is around Saturday and Sunday afternoons. She is available to help newcomers, those returning, those switching worlds and even those who roll alts get a good start. She will run the goodblades and low road to help people get a good start so remember she is there when you are rolling a squishy alt. She can help you get to lvl 2. She is also always at the Wavecrest Inn healing and passing out DV's when needed.
During the time she has been online these last few days there have been several new players to our server. It is very important to me that new players be welcomed into the community by a friendly face. Let's face it DDO has a pretty steep learning curve especially for those who never played pnp, having questions answered, being given some lvl 1 equipment and a little plat really does go a long way in fostering goodwill and helping to retain those who may have otherwise given up due to frustration.
Again thank you to everyone who has helped recently. I am so sorry I do not remember all of your names but rest assured that the help is appreciated and the items/plat are reaching the people it was intended to help.
To the rest of you, drop by the Wavecrest sometime and say hi. There is plenty of ale to be had since Sigmund keeps talking the newcomers into bringing ale up from the basement on a regular basis so Mythe will buy you an ale and definitely enjoy your company for the brief time you are there.
One final note.. to Gheist. You company and help with newcomers has been extremely enjoyable. The roleplaying that is going on at the inn is helping break the ice with many newones. Thank you for helping me add to the ambience at the Wavecrest.
