History of DDO Guild Raiding

[Riot]

Someone posed the question to me not long ago about which guilds were first to do which raids.
And while I knew some answers, some I had forgotten. With the Help of players form all servers, and Screenshots, we've manged to piece together most of the history of who/what/where/when these things went down.

I'm mainly interested in completions by Single Guilds. And of course first ever completions.
I'll be recording up to 3 things.
First Ever - Either PuG or Guild.

First Ever By Single Guild - per sever. (this may or may not be the same as above)
&
First Elite By Guild

All Guilds will be updated to their NEW server.

Not from what I can tell - I think it was The Free Companions with some helpers... You guys can claim the first abbot defeat, but I think TFC beat it on elite first..

I'm not so sure that I'd include the Abbot since it was being beaten by exploits. Practically every guild can lay claim to have beaten it on elite.

my old guild, Searing Light, was the first to beat it on Sarlona.. dont have the exact date or whatever... But looking back on it... everyone in my guild had so much free time to attempt it and get raid ready... same with then I was ed and we beat queen. It is fun to be the first to beat something but I think some are taking it a little too far in toating their e-peen. It's not really a reflection of how uber you are, but more a reflection of how much free time you have and the dedication you can put in... anyways that's my two cents. Grats on all to be the first to beat something :).

Legion (from what I hear) didn't exploit it, but their strategy doesn't work on the post mod 5.1 Abbot.

I suggest the Abbot be changed to list first completion of Abbot Version 1 (Legion), version 2 (with Touch of Dolurrh on normal) was never beaten, only completion ever of Abbot version 3 (no Touch of Dolurrh, but only 2 chances to complete all three puzzles) was a guild on the Japanese server, and version 4 is up now (no Deathgrip of Dolurrh, unlimited chances at puzzles, don't need to be solved in one pass).


Also it seems Legion took the cake again on the Shroud normal, although they've been beaten to it on Hard.

Thanks sirgog, you've heard right we never exploited the Abbot.
I also wanted to thank Riot for running this thread for the community.

Yet, I do have a question for you.
The 1st group to beat the Stormreaver was a Pug on Xoriat lead by Renegade from Legion.(I understand this is a guild completion thread)
Then the Death Jeasters of Sarlona making them the 1st guild to beat the raid, and then it was Legion of Xoriat.
My question is, since Xoriat was a server at this point should it be listed?
Or since Legion is on Thelanis now and we beat the "Flaming Vagabonds" should you remove them and put Legion up instead?

...and BTW you need to add the Shroud. :D

PM sent but you may want to separate out the original servers for raids that were before the merger. My guild was very proud to be the first guild group to take the rust bucket down on Mabar (7 JAN 07-proof at this link (http://www.ordosdraconum.net/nuke/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=42&mode=&order=0&thold=0).):)


Also an effort by Xcorps and OD (who were sister guilds) took Velah out for the first time on approximately 1 MAY 06 (that is the date of the post on Xcorps guild forums.) This also on Mabar not sure if it was first but that is their date of completion.

In order to qualify (yes by my standards) as a "Guild raid" you should have at least 8 guild members out of the 12 raiders.

oh, i guess since someone is actually keeping track.. you can go ahead and pencil in blacklist as the first on sarlona to beat the shroud. we didnt feel like posting the screenshot since we werent the first game-wide

Hey Riott, Ide have to check the exact dates but THoTBT took down the Titan on elite 4 times after our first victory after DQ mod. I thought I remember you guys were still having problems with him bugging out on pillars for at least a couple weeks after MOD. We even posted on DDO forums how we were first group/guild in game to take elite(or even hard) and you guys hadn't gotten him on normal yet due to some unlucky bugging. Ill check back on DDO forums for an exact date but unless someone took him down w/o posting on server or DDO forums we got N/H/E record for post-nerfed version. :) Gruntis

Our guild switched to guildportal back last January so I'm gonna have to do a little homework. Its nice to see Aundair guilds taking the gold for most of the completions. First shroud completion on khyber was actually my group, the post for it is only a few posts down on this forum.

It was 1 day before the hand of the black tower did it. We also did the first on hard on khyber, and the first Elite game-wide.

If you wanna list it by guild closest would be Free Companions + Prophets of the new republic, those were the game guilds with multiple members of those guilds in the groups. Tho we did have a few other from other guilds.

Normal was done on 2/3 around 1 am, and we did hard last night.

Infamous Flaming Vagabonds (IFV) was first for the Queen raid on Thelanis pre-merge (that I'm aware of). It's hard to prove (or find a date/time) since so many threads are gone, but it sticks out in my memory because Indago was right behind IFV. About 20 minutes later we beat her, but the glory goes to them. :)

Bah, we were 2nd on Thelanis for Abbot too. Although we wearn't even close to Legion when they beat it (we were still getting people raid ready). Same kind of thing for Stormreaver (IFV got raid ready extremely fast for that one).

Not sure who beat Titan first on Thelanis (I'll double check). There are more than 2 versions though. There was the first version (beaten by Bones Combat Brigade), and then there is the version we have now... but there was also a time when the pillars could knock each other over when they fell (ala dominos), and also a time when you could cometfall the titan to knock him over. Actually there's many versions of every raid. The queen raid was changed multiple times (we fought her at the very bottom at first).

Alright, IFV was the first to beat the titan on Thelanis (pre-merge). We were (again) 2nd place, but it didn't stick out in my memory, so I had to ask around. O_O
I have no dates for you. We switched websites, and our raid tracking only goes back to Feb 18, 07. But since we're never first it doesn't matter. You can bug IFV for dates :p
