Giving away all my ****

Thanks to Vlahd for finding me a new time killer I'm moving on to Hellgate. So, I'm going to be hosting an event with my buddies in which I'll be tossin all my **** out to the residents of Thelanis. Normally I'd say screw all of you that weren't on Xoriat but I've had a great time in these last few weeks with some of the natives that I've been rollin with and I've come to change my perception of the weak RP'ers.

So, in honor of them it'll be a more story driven event. No roleplaying necessary; although it will garner you extra points. Will definitely also have a PvP part to it as well to honor my brothers in arms from Xoriat. Although it won't be anywhere near as restrictive as Tuffman's Comp.

As to the prizes, here's a quick list. The list will undoubtedly be expanded when I get my buddies in on it as they'll probably want to donate to the fun. You can expect (from only me at this time):

Ok, Well thats some of it got plenty more that I haven't listed, greater banes, cold iron pure goods etc. etc. I still have 2 more vaultbots to sift through and haven't listed stuff I carry on my actual toons. I'm doing this mostly in hopes of seeing my greatest dream come true before I leave: That I can have one, just ONE night in this game w/o seeing SOMEONE b*t*h and/or complain. Man this game is chalk full of crybabies. It's almost, but not quite, as bad as SWG was.

My account runs up on the 28th so we'll shoot for the 23rd-25th time frame (the last weekend before). Suggestions for the event are always welcome.

Edit: I'm leaving the game, so please stop the PM's to buy/trade/sell (wrong forum anyway). Besides, trust me, there's nothing you possibly have that I want or need.

And Don't get me wrong, DDO is a fan-f***ing-tastic game as far as MMO's are concerned. And I've played most of 'em. We have a great community for the most part. But the whole MMO thing is just getting old and hellgate is at least satisfying my undying urge for sci-fi that was left wholly unsatiated thanks to SWG. It will tide me over until 4th ed. and it's online utilities are released next year. Anyways, gotta jet, got work to do. Peace out ya'll.

I too, hate to see one of the old guard go.
I was not originally from Xoriat, but one of my alts has run with Mechanic.

I had a guildie (who was a founder) leave for WoW.

I am sure you have given it some thought before you decided to leave, but I would hold off on getting rid of all of your stuff unless you are positive you won't be back.

You have invested allot of time in earning everything you have.
It would be a shame to throw it all away, Then come back and be wishing you hadn't.

my advice (for what it is worth) is Take a break;
Try Hellgate and if you find you like it better Then host the event.

If you find you like DDO better, then I will look to adventuring with you in the Future.
But
in the end it is your choice

If you choose to go, I will be honored to be there at your send off.

Hellgate London is a great game don't get me wrong but they are completely different . One is Dnd and slower paced with questing and needing actual knowledge where you need a party and Hellgate is more fast paced guildwars diablo just log in and kill style.

Having both going is my preference.

I'll take all your loots, that way you won't have to sully your soul with the corruption of our roleplaying poison. Don't worry, it'll all find good homes. I know a warforged bard in a premier roleplaying guild that loves cookies... and 2-handers. Then there's the pink-haired kalashtar in her guild that hates physical contact, but loves to reach out and touch someone with repeating crossbow bolts. Or even better, the psi-forged rogue that swings a mean heavy pick, and considers all fleshlings to be "meatbags". Either way, your stuff will be well-loved and used frequently. Feel the hate, man... feel the hate.
On a more serious note... even if you give away every unbound item in your banks and inventories, don't delete your characters, and don't destroy your bound items. Turbine saves them for awhile after the account goes inactive, at no cost to you, so when you do come back, you'll at least have your raid loots, if nothing else. Unless, like Jundak, you like burning bridges as you charge across them. :D

Keep your gear and let the account go inactive - you will be back. I took off what... 7 or 8 Months?... and I came back. I used to be elite on Xoriat - at least in the sense that I was with the groups always pounding out the newest content first and my gear was all uber. Now - I'm sure my stuff all sucks.


Seriously - save the gear and take some time off. Hellgate is fun, but it gets old. If you take off a few months, you can actually come back to DDO and it'll be something of a new game. I quit right after VoN came out, so I'm sure there is a TON of new stuff for me.


In honor of my old home, I did reroll a new toon named "Xoriot". :-)

I have played since preorder on xoriat and remember the first loot runs in threnal untill it was nerfed and my warrior was a god with his vorpal now threnal sucks and my warrior is a gimped 28 point build mule ...

You should take that gear out of the game with you not that i want to see you go but that gear is 1/2 the reason why peeps play.. to make their toons better and the thrill of pulling that cool item to sell or trade for what they want....

So my 2 cents is to take a break and renew your account later when ddo is fresh again with added content and with new items to get and quests to solve,,and of course to say hi to all your old friends

man i think most of the people are right just take a break. i do it all the time since i can't stand running the same quests over and over. the best thing is take like a month or two off from this game. turn on like a ps2 or xbox when you come back you have everything you need the only problem you would have is to ajust to your old play style. to get in that comfy zone. every two months i run the house p vampire just for the fun of it. i suggest a mob and let them fight another mob watch em duke it out. its kinda fun. heck i would feeblemind a beholder and walk away from it. another thing to try is make a new toon and not give him anything. let him work his way to becoming uber.
