the sorc

for helping me finally get my cleric set........

reaver run, pug grp, he pulled a +3 wisdom tome....

after i gave him my first born child and other nice things he lightened his grip on the book....

which brings my cleric Jmar (28build) to 1434sp and a 34 wisdom $$

Thanks again for the tome!

gratz on the tome, jmar.

Would have been nice to know that the sorcerer in question was entertaining bids for the tome. In the 5 minutes that the 3 clerics were waiting for him to decide what he wanted to do with it, all we got from him was 'I'm doing math on whether it helps me'
Then, without any word to the rest of us, the book gets shifted to you. I know for a fact that neither myself or the other cleric in the raid had entered negotiations with him as we were both asking in party chat what his intentions were.

I'm happy for you, jmar, but the sorcerer is out of my future raids.

Congrats on 34 wis Jmar.

As to the sorc, please don't bother trying to join my raids in the future. The sig contains the toon names that will decline you.

Is there any more background to this story I'm missing, or is it just 'I sat on my thumb wondering if he'd just let me roll on the most valuable peice of loot in the game and was taken totally unawares when somebody actually offered him something for it'?

I mean seriously, did the other clerics really think they were going to roll on a +3 tome? Did they really just sit around waiting to 'enter into negotiations', like maybe there was some process for doing so?

Tell me there's something more to the story, something that would add meaning to the drama.

To the OP, grats on the tome.

I don't have a problem with public negotiations (or for that matter, private ones) over a roll. What I have a problem with is the sorc in question stating that he was 'doing math' and leaving the rest of us with our thumbs up our butts (as you so eloquently put it) while he did his negotiations with the other fellow.

The right thing to do there would have been to state his intentions up front.

ummm what are we talking about here....jrp was discussing raid loot...if you wanta trade it for god sake speak out....3 clerics bidding against one another would have been at least fair...if not just to see them empty their vaults...but to do it behind/under the table = unethical and simply not fair...these other players were there as well was "trade" offer even open for discussion = they have a right to be POd

thanks for your input. no one expected to get something for nothing there. I, for one, will not start pestering someone about their raid loot until I know whether they're going to loot it for themselves - and any character can benefit from a +3 tome, so saying that you need to do some calculations before offering it up for rolling or selling or whatever is something I'm willing to let him do. Obviously, the 2nd cleric agreed with me. And Jmar went the other way..

Lesson learned - don't group with that sorc and make sure to make harass anyone who's name is on raid loot that I could benefit from when in raids with PuGgers.

oh, and my mother doesn't have a basement .. and I haven't lived in the same state as her for over 20 years now.. again, thanks for your input.

Or if said sorc only wanted to trade with this friend of his, the least he could have done was tell the rest of the party that he's working out a deal with his friend only.

Hmm Sor looted +3 tome someone took the initiative and offered a trade and didn't want to deal with a huge ordeal of 10 other bothering him at once...SHAME ON HIM!!!! for trying to keep a bit a sanity and get it over with and move on...wasting 5 min sitting and waiting to see what going to happen was a choice.. wow, lol

want the rest of the story? all 3 clerics offered him something in exchange for his tome that he pulled and could do anything with he pleased

nothing shady happened here, nothing unethical happened here, nothing unusual happened here

someone pulled something that they didnt really need on that character and instead of getting nothing for something he choose to get something for something

heck just the raid before a +3 int tome dropped and i was playing my wizard, guess what, 3 wizards on the raid, the puller decided to send it to his friend (wizard) despite any offers of trade, guess what......i was totally cool with that, dropped the matter said gratz to the puller and the looter and went on my merry way no flaming, bickering, arguing, etc

this post wasnt meant to start a flame war or a "you should have, you need to" whatever

it was meant as a sincere thanks to the puller and a boast of mine for reaching a personal gaming goal for one of my characters

you wanna blackball me, go for it. you wanna not invite me to your reaver raids, im truly hurt /cry get over it, everyone to my knowledge offered this guy something for trade for the rights to loot this tome

you think just because he was a sorc that he should have just let 3 total strangers roll on his loot with nothing in exchange? and what if i had still won? youd be ****ed the same cause you didnt get it, in fact im sure anything that could have happened would not have been fair unless you ended up with the tome

whatever

reading comprehension for the win there, bud .. the other two clerics were awaiting whether he wanted to entertain offers or was going to loot it .. you were the only one he was dealing with -- so if you thought you were sweetening the pot by offering more and more to him, then you are the one that I feel sorry for. I had several items lined up to offer if he said he was going to be taking bids.

It's not that you got a tome - gratzs (again) - but that the negotiations were done under the table with you while he kept the other two clerics waiting on the assumption that he was evaluating its usefulness to him.

again, just in case you missed it .. gratz on the tome.

p.s. i don't recall anyone saying they were blackballing you... unless you were two-boxing in there and you're an alt of simbul's..

furthermore if you actually did stand around silent for 10mins on your cleric and didnt offer the puller anything for his wisdom tome then all i can say is shame on you.

you should have known that out of the 3 clerics standing around this sorc with a wisdom tome that he was considering his options from someone about a trade, otherwise he would have just:
A. looted it and laughed at us
or
B. said yall 3 roll on this tome

and if that never crossed your mind than im sorry thats just the way this game is, complain to turbine about the new loot system that allows ppl to do whatever they want with the loot THEY pull.

and in reality he could have went afk for 10mins come back and seen 3 clerics hovering around him like vultures around a dead rat on a road and randomly picked one of the 3 and switched the loot rights name and none of us would have been the wiser......well except the one that was picked to loot it (pun)

this guy didnt know any of the 3 of us from adam and i find it hard to believe that he wasnt sitting there taking tells from all 3 of us and making a decision as to what he wanted to do with the tome.

in hindsight, next time ill remember that greed always outweighs good deeds and not post a thanks to someone who wanted to help someone else out

and if youre a person that is going to look at this and hold a grudge or blacklist anyone involved here youre a sad little alone person indeed

ya know what, all in all im pretty steaming right now that this thread would even go this way

under the table? everything is under the table, you think if all 3 of us were bidding on him that he would say yeah well he is offering me x and you are offering me x then it would be a empty your vault. that isnt the way he choose to do things

lets not loose sight of this fact, in the dark, under the table, backdoor, back alley or whatever, IT WAS HIS LOOT TO DO WITH HOW HE CHOOSE

and yeah, youre blackballing me, if you blackball this guy for doing it, youre blackballing me for doing it with him

dont blackball him without blackballing me to everyone you know as well

ill share the same blackball fate as he does, cause i stand beside his decision and choice

Let's see... I have two raids in a row where some schmuck just pull whatever named loot out of the chest because it's in his name and runs with it.... despite letting the rest of the party put their named loot up for roll....

I go in a raid expecting that if loot drops in my name that i put it up for roll.

I get mad about people screwing the parties and taking off with the loot and post something on the general forum and I get ripped for three days about how i'm a loot nazi and a bully for telling people what to do with their loot.

oh and...half those people are from Thelanis and assure me they have no idea what i'm talking about....

So... I'm getting ripped for expecting it to go one way on one thread and a guy (in my guild no less) is over here getting ripped for it going the other way.....

WHICH IS IT?

If raid loot drops in my name is it my loot to do with what I please or is it rolled out like raid used to be in a warded chest?

and please...if you're gonna rip jmar here... how about going on over to general discussion and supporting me.

-shakes head.
Thanks Turbine.

If I'm correct GSI started this raid, so it would have been nice of Simbul to say "hey I'm not using this what is y'alls general method of dealing with this" or at the very least open trade to all. He's a dumb ass for not doing that anyways. How did he know that Jmar would have given him the best offer? Then again Simbul has a high cha not a high int.

Dorthin_Othortin

in a pug raid it should always be:

your name on the loot = your loot, do with it what you want

this includes:
looting the item (even if it benefits you or not)
putting the item up for roll (between all or just selected ppl or classes)
giving the item to someone (friend, foe or stranger)
leaving it in the chest and logging off (and yes ive seen ppl do this, noone gets it)

now, as for my guild, when i get to raid with them (time differences) we have specific looting rules, whatever drops is up for rolls by need before greed rules, which are determined by the guild leadership

as for pugs i take into reaver raids i clearly state from the start:

your loot is your loot, i dont care what you do with it. end of story.

HOWEVER i do also tell my pug raids to try not to be honks about what they get and if they dont want/wont use that they would be considerate of others in the group and put it up for trade/rolls, whatever they deem fair.....

let me say that again......whatever THEY deem is fair, not whatever i deem is fair, not whatever the group deems as fair, not whatever 2-3 ppl on the raid deem is fair, but what THEY deem is fair.

this is turbine's system, love it or leave it till it changes. if the loot has your name on it its yours to do whatever you want with and noone in the game can make you do anything you dont want to with your loot. that even applies to prearranged rules, if something drops for you that you really want, theres no rule that turbine has that prevents you from looting that item. there is no DM that will enforce any prearranged agreement on your behalf if your name was not on the loot in the chest, sorry thats the cold hard fact.

and if you like it or not, these are the rules set forth in the game at this point and until such time as they change im not gonna sit around idle and let someone get blackballed for doing the right thing. not because i got a coveted piece of graphic pixel, heck no, because it was fair and it was right. it was his loot and he did what he darn well pleased with his loot and because i came here to say thanks and do a little boasting you yahoos are gonna try to blackball him and say he isnt good company. thats BS, im calling a spade a spade, its bs.

if you pug out a raid get used to the fact that loot is not going to always go your way. you want loot to go your way, solo the quest.

and if ya think your buddies are gonna always, barnone pass on a +3 tome that dropped for them and roll just because you and them are guild mates, ya might wanna think again, because again there is no rule that says they have to do that. ppl pass and roll and such only because they are considerate of the others in the group, its their good graces that they even consider doing such a thing.

again though, guilds handle loot their own way, i honor my guild's loot rules 100% of the time, but make no mistake there is no rule in game that forces me to follow those prearranged rules, i do so because i choose to do so.

and if you have a guild raid and decide to pug out the last 2-3 spots on your raid, get this idea into your head and make it stick.......LOOT ISNT GOING TO ALWAYS GO YOUR WAY.

get this straight to: when it doesnt go your way, its still fair! why? because its their name on the loot and NOT YOURS.

moorewr
11-05-2007, 01:26 PM
If you pull an item from a chest, it's yours. No one else can tell you what to do with it. Give it to a friend, put it up for a roll, eat it, drag it out of your inventory. Have fun. The game will make more for next time.

End of story.

you guys kill me, slandering this guy for making a deal with me and then on top of that slandering him and you werent even there?

i said it before in a post, ill say it again, you wanna take down his good name on this issue, pack a lunch buster and get a sound argument and it may be a good idea to have actually been on the raid, but thats a side issue.

Here's my outside opinion:
It's a pug, the Sorc. pulls a WIS tome, Dorth beats everyone to the punch and offer's this guy a trade.
The guy probably figures 1st come 1st serve and deal's it to Dorth.
Dorth is happy and gratefull so he comes to the forums, out of excitement, and post's a thank you to the Sorc.
He also wants to share his new stat's he's proud of.

.......But then the rest of the butthurt crew follows him with torches just waiting to pour their whine all over his thread, and flame it.

So what are you guy's realy mad at......the fact that Dorth out played you, or the Sorc. did what he wanted with his loot?

Wow, first juicy thread I've seen in a minute!

Let me start by saying grats to the op on the tome!

Now I actually had something similar happen in a reaver raid. Playing my wizzy in a pug and I pull a +3 str tome ><! And everyone started rolling on it before I said a word about: fighters, clerics, everyone. So I laughed a little bit and brought up that prior to the raid kicking off the raid leader stated in regards to loot: "You pull it, it's yours." I told everyone I wasn't looking to be greedy or break anyone's bank account or whatever but it would be nice to walk away with something. So long story short I conducted a silent auction via tells, and the best offer won the tome. I don't feel the least bit bad about this. I pulled it and it was mine to do with what I felt fair. In the end a fighter got it and I got a shiney bauble and a few trinkets for it.

A slight disclaimer: Wicked Rebellion has a different set of rules regarding raid loot (the naming system) and had this been a WR raid there would not have been any auction. But since I was a pug I followed the rules the raid leader of that event declared. And that is the biggest thing to bear in mind. On any WR raid that we invite non-guildies to, prior to the raid start we go over our system and at that time guests make their own decision on to drop, keep going or whatever. But it must be done before any actual raiding begins. Anyone that agrees to do something and is unsatisfied by it's outcome is just a spoiled-sport.

Hey all...

I was one of the three clerics on this raid... and I've got no hard feelings about it...

Here's what happened... sorc gets a +3 wis tome... everyone leaves except the three clerics (oh, and a paladin stuck around too).

The sorc doesn't say very much...

I ask him several times (in party chat) if he wants to keep it or if he's willing to take offers.. He doesn't say anything except "I'm doing some math"... and then is quiet for about 2-3 minutes...

I too wondered if he was just figuring out whether he wanted to keep it or not... I DID expect him to take offers... I even said so in party chat... I explicitly said, "I expect you'll want offers for this item.. it's too good to just give away"

Because ANYONE can use a tome... And let's face it, a +3 Wis tome helps everybody... More Will save is ALWAYS good...

But if the sorc did anything wrong (and I don't really think he did), he never responded to my chat...

Anyway, sorry to burst the other losing cleric's bubble... but I did finally get tired of waiting for him to say something, so I offered him a khopesh smiter in a private tell... so I was part of the silent bidding too...

But again, he never responded to my tell... And finally, he just gave the OP the tome, and left... A little more communication would have been nice.

However, after we all finished out, I sent the sorc a few tells and we had a very cordial conversation and left on good terms... He said he was very tempted by my khopesh smiter offer, but decided to go with the OP's offer (I asked him what it was, but he declined to tell me)

The whole incident was no big deal, and I have no bad feelings about any of it... I think the sorc would have been better served with some more communication... Who knows what the third cleric would have offered him? As for myself, if I had known the smiter was almost good enough, I would have thrown in some more stuff...

The sorc could have probably gotten a lot more if he had pitted us three clerics against each other... or maybe he realized THAT might have caused more bad feelings than the way he did handle it.

Again, I only wish he had stated outright, "If you guys want to offer something for the tome, I'd be happy to consider it". I never really knew a silent auction was taking place until after it was over...

My blacklisting of the sorc in question is over a year old and for a variety of reasons .. if that makes me a sore loser or a crybaby, then you're entitled to your opinion.
After playing this game for over 2 years, I have exactly 1 person in my blacklist. Perhaps that'll let you know how often I refuse to play with certain people.

Anyway, sorry to burst the other losing cleric's bubble... but I did finally get tired of waiting for him to say something, so I offered him a khopesh smiter in a private tell... so I was part of the silent bidding too...

I guess it comes down to communications, or lack there-of. Anyway, it's just pixels in a video game, and there'll be more of them eventually.
I don't know if the sorc knows the character that I was on last night or not as me, but he does know that I'm in the guild that refused him entry over a year ago.

so anyway, good luck to the both of you, gratz on your new tome, Dorthin and hope to see both of you ingame.

ya know what the irony of this thread is becoming, im posting in defense of someone i dont even know

you guys kill me, slandering this guy for making a deal with me and then on top of that slandering him and you werent even there?

what the heck is up with that?

i said it before in a post, ill say it again, you wanna take down his good name on this issue, pack a lunch buster and get a sound argument and it may be a good idea to have actually been on the raid, but thats a side issue.

**and if youre posting that this was fair, cause it was, then pat on the back to you.

Dammit! I wan't gona post on thisthread too! It isn't about you got the tome. Itwas about him not annoucing what he was going to do. It was the lack of politness on his part, NOT YOU. You did nothing wrong.

AND HE DID NOTHING WRONG BUT WAS A LITTLE RUDE ABOUT IT!!! That's all. Those throwing a hissy fit, well, as far as I can see, the how the loot was to be divided wasn't agreed upon. That's the leader's fault. I'm sure if the caster(and you) knew that they were going to let everybody roll for all raid loot, you would have said, "ok!" but that wan't agree upon so the caster took the tome and gave it to you. What he should have done is to say, "Hey, sorry, but I'm gonna givethis to this person here." It would have saved a lot of embarrasment and waiting around issues. His loot, his choice, no pre nups, as it were. Just next time, he needs to say something so noone feels that they are getting ignored.

As for all the people who say nay! Just forget about them!

btw: congrats!

Hrm, I have to drop my comment on here as well because I believe i got screwed out of a pug raid as well. I remember we were doing reaver raid and I have been dying to get madstone boots on me barbarian.

Before entering the quest the raid leader specifically stated to everyone "please, if you don't need the item please offer it up for a roll for others. Need before greed." So fine, no one complained we continued with the raid, beat it, madstone boots drop as well as something else. I don't even consider the item as mine as it wasn't in my name and it was assigned to a paladin who could possibly use it. Then, they asked the paladin if he was going to use it. He said no and then I proceed to get excited as I have a chance now.

As soon as he said no, the other guy who was in the same guild as the lead offered up his raid loot as a trade and they switch items. Whatever happened to the offer it up for a roll? If i had gotten something I didn't need I would have offered it up as that is what was stated by the lead of the raid. So the fact that that is what they expected but then changed it to their favor got me mad. I sent a tell to the guy who got the boots instead and asked him "what happened offering it up for the d100 like you guys said?" He responded with a "or trade it, whatever." Ha, got me mad for a good 10 minutes but then I got over it like any grown up should.

What was sad is that after the raid i rolled a 1d100 just to see and what do you know...i roll a 100!! lol. slap in the face.

Normally though, I would not care what other people did with their raid loot as its in their name and they have a right to do with it as they please. Soooo...please stop crying about the fact that you didn't get what you wanted. It was never stated before the raid and its a pug raid. WAH MORE!:D

*Wakes from his beer-soaked popcorn and wonders where the hell he is*

I have to tell you...I've been gone for two months trying out another game (and obviously came running back screaming) to a bunch of freaking nonsense.

*Rubs the sleep-crust from his eyes and absently pulls a stuck piece of popcorn from his forehead*

Of all dumbest things to have any sort of misunderstanding about.

*Pops aforementioned kernel into his mouth and chews absently while searching for his beer with his left hand*

Every single one of you are just plain nuts. Especially Legion...apparently our resident peanut gallery. :D

*Frowns at the empty can*

I came back to DDO and jumped at the offer to join GSI, simply because they are a damned good bunch of people, through and through.

*Opens cooler next to desk and grabs another...*

I know the LOOOOONG history between this fellow and the Old Guard GSI. It's not pretty, to say the least. Many of you know me and the type of people I prefer to surround myself with, and I will attest that every last one of these fellows (with NO exceptions) are of the highest caliber in personality and "fairness".

click-phsss...

*Takes a long pull from his new beer and smiles contentedly*

I wasn't there for the raid, because I'm starting every single character fresh (which is fun as hell, by the way...none of that freaking crappy WoW point-and-click **** that LotRO seems to have adopted).

However, I've heard/read enough discussion within GSI Guildchat to know that you, Jmar, was never the target of their ire. You want to take offense to it, without knowing the full story that's fine by me.

*shrugs*

As things are presented here, I can see how GSI members are cast in a bad light. I'm not the guildmaster nor an officer of GSI, but I will apologize for the presentation of the outrage. Without the full history (which GSI will never explain on the DDO forums or within the game to strangers), Jmar's claim to indignation is indeed warranted.

However...Razor, my friend, as ironclad as Jmar's defense may seem, not even he knows the full extent of the issues involved. I stand behind my guildmates 100 percent in this matter. I wish that this had not spilled over into the public domain...but there it is.

*Dismayed that his beer is gone already* :(

Ba'al Verzi, Legion, DWAT, and a host of other Xoriat guilds that I've come to know and respect have had their fair share of misfits and bad history, as well. This is an incredibly old Tharashk matter...that should have been water under the bridge by now. Unfortunately, there will always be those that refuse to learn from the past. Too bad for them.

*Looks around at the Thelashkriats and sighs heavily*

You can take or leave what I'm saying, people. But I assure you that this whole "blacklist" thing by GSI is not out of pure spite. Not only would I never buy into that personally...but I would also refuse to be associated with a guild like that. And as I said, I back GSI 100% in this matter.

I think this issue has been beaten to death, now...:p

*Seriously contemplates heading to the store for more adult beverages...then notices his pillow*

I think Jmar just felt as if he started out trying to do something nice for a guy that did alright by him see.......but then his thread got kinda raped, and he felt he kinda screwed the guy.

to GSI:

see, like razor said, i was taking this issue as a "this issue" basis.

i had absolutely no idea of any past issues surrounding this issue

i guess it takes a good gas fire to have the real issues to come out of hiding

most of the top guilds on thelanis prior to the merger will prolly attest to a few things about me:

1. im a complete hole when i play on jmar, im jaded and thats just the way it is with me
2. im of the highest lvl of integrity when it comes to loot and helping others. i have most every piece of loot in the game twice over and i never see a problem with giving up my share so you can have your share.

ive never been the subject of a "loot controversy" on the forums, so again, like razor said, i prolly took some, errr, alot of personal offense to being targeted as being part of a loot screwover

i saw this as me coming here to say thanks and boast a tad then starting this flame fire from out of left field screaming towards homebase

so, if ya wanna hate on this guy for past things, ok, but im not about smearing someone's name on my account

ya dig where im rolling from now?

anyway, like you said this thread is dead now and so is this issue, so, next....

The right thing to do there would have been to state his intentions up front.

Last I checked it was HIS (the sorcerror in question) loot. So he can do whatever the hell he wants with it. If you feel that you were slighted because he was doing a deal with another cleric and didn't let you know, oh freakin well grow the hell up.

He could've just kept the **** thing for himself and said screw all of you but instead he, at the very least, traded it to ONE OF YER OWN! So quit yer whining and be happy for Jmar. And as far as "banning" HIM from your future raids? That's just f***ing pathetic. I said it once and I'll say it again, people who take this game too d*mn seriously need to turn off the 'puter, go outside, get some sun, meet a girl and get a f***ing life.

Well I gave a +3 int tome to a wizard the other day when there were two wizrds in the group. I openly stated, I will give this to anyone who offers me a +2 unbound int tome. One said okay, and I gave him the +3 int tome.

Would that have been better if the sorc openly stated he would trade that tome for specific items? I mean in a PUG raid he could have easily just picked it up and left. Many people would do that you know.

Jundak

Yes. As a matter of fact, any sort of public statement would have been preferrable than to leave these guys hanging. I almost feel worse about that other cleric who sent a private tell offer, and was ignored, too.

The key in this specific case was a lack of communication. Yes, the loot had his name on it, therefore the right was his to do with it as he pleased. But he should have just said something, for crying out loud. That's my only personal beef here. *shrug*

I've run with Jmar in the past (waaaay before my break), and I only remember him as a good player/cleric. And since I haven't offered congrats already, I will now...

And Rayzor I'm sorry I took off like that but did you have to keep holding my shorts over my head than pull em away everytime I jumped for them?

yea yea but i happen to remember when you wanted to fight some drow pally's i asked what kinda blades you used and the word that came out was khopesh. so i gave you the best weapon i had to mess around with those divine graceful pointy ear nut jobs. so you dropped khopesh or do you still use the feat :P don't lie now cali knows all and sees all. if you keep doing that your gonna make me go blind lmao

I actually quit the game for two months, deleted my characters, and gave everything away, Cali. I came back about a week and a half ago, so I've been slowly rebuilding my arsenal (with some help from MANY friends). I have decided to drop Khopesh as a feat in this latest build...just don't have room to add it. Jundak 3.0 is chugging along nicely, though. Very happy with the adjustments I've made.

Thank you much, but I think I'll be fine from here on out. Finally hit lvl 11 last night, killed my first Titan in three months, and ran through the Orchard with wide eyes (How many F'ing vampires are out there!?) last night. I've finally made it to the point where I can run with the big boys again, which means I can just go on some real loot runs for a change.

Most of the remaining equipment that I need is raid loot, anyway. Ooo...and the tapestry helm, but I have that covered, too. :D

my favorite thing is when a fighter type starts bragging about how "uber" he is. then you make a deal with him about kills. he keeps begging the cleric for a restore when i pked the beholder and ran behind him as the enervation is shot at me but hits him. i don't like reavers and renders so much cause they cheat. **** sr they get lucky i tell ya

Jundak
11-12-2007, 05:19 PM

by the time i run out of sp on my sorc or my wizard i find myself infront of a shrine, then round 2 goes on. that skill my homie is called combat awareness. u can tell where the shrines are and will be so ur not suckered by some silly monsters who want to beat the ever living pulp out of ya. hey i am not totally cruel if i see a beholder floating my first objective is to feeblemind it. they are funny afterwards. sitting there pondering if they should run or should try biting. i would leave them for the fighters to play with kinda like a baby with a stuff animal.

I think that Jun can handle running with your sorc Cali, as he has been leveling up with mine for the last little bit. Jaerle takes everything I learned by playing my wiz, and refines it.

And goodness knows that I love running Jaerle with Jun as I see the intim go off and BOOM!!! 5-10 crispy mobs.

Plus the PK factor.

Jun is rock solid peeps. One of the most reliable folks I have played with. Heck, he is the reason that my wizzie has only killed the titan(aka killing blow) 8-9 times. Most of the other times he was in the party and I was lazy and said, "meh, Jun is alive, he will kill it."

Hehe...

Braegan: Who cares!? Water under the bridge, as far as I'm concerned...and good riddance to what could have been an extremely heated argument. :)

Cali: You're absolutely correct, Bro. You and I really don't know one another from spit, But...based on our short convos in-game and our chatter here, I've a feeling we'll get along just fine.

The previous version of Jundak was all about killing everything in his path and sorting out party deaths/injuries later. And he was a 28-point character with the pre-fix Evasion idea in mind. This version relies on an even better AC, greater hp's, higher To-Hit, and the sole responsibility of keeping agro off of the mages/clerics/rogues/rangers. Kill count is now secondary...although the difference in the role has caused me to peek at the xp screen and cry sometimes. Holding main aggro and chasing down misbehaving mobs has destroyed my overall kill count.

*sighs*

I'm used to leading in the kill count by 20 or more mobs in any given quest. Depressing, actually...but I prefer the role I'm in now, for the most part. By the time I reach level 14 and have all of the gear I envision this build with, I'll be able to make any party run much smoother overall.

Current stats at level 11 , self-buffed (no raid loot yet):

AC: 46 Standing (56 with CE and HV IV...62 while tumbling)
HP: 220
Attack: +25 (+30 with HV IV)
Intimidate: 20 (25 with HV IV)
UMD: 27 (32 with HV IV)

Yeah, I'm bragging a little...but, ******...I'm proud of this particular build. :D

Boy has THIS thread been so throroughly derailed I can't remember what the OP had in mind... but.. Jundak, you're the kind of tank that every rogue with any kinda sneak attack focus loves... and any mage that casts an AOE.... hm.... come to think of it... the other tanks might even find themselves appreciating the difference. Can't think of any particular class that would have a reason to complain about the build you describe. One thing I will say: I've run pretty frequently on kinda squishy characters with this one person that has a mid-level fighter who uses the hell out of Intimidate. Effectively... and I love it!

p.s. Did I mention yer a cutie patootie?
